What magic? when i rode it, i could clearly know im watching a giant screen, even looking around i was distracted by the studio productions in the surroundings cuz i was curious how the ride worked but man that angle drop in the beginning surprised me i was amazed, i think Gringotts is way better than mummy
@@AwesomestParks the mummy > Escape from Gringotts. I think if there was one more drop like the drop in the beginning, I would put it above the mummy. Still a good ride though.
I agree. I think the immersion factor is hugely over exaggerated. None of these disney/universal rides are fully immersive. You can tell its a ride very easily. I go through them and am immediately intrigued as to what work was put in to create the ride experience. “Killing the magic” is the magic for me.
When my sister and I were in the queue to ride escape from Gringotts, a ride operator gave us an option on what cart and row we would like. We asked what the best cart and seat was. The ride operator told us to sit the last row last cart and look up during the drop and to also look behind us each time we leave a room. He said it would trippy. It was really neat because the animation continues to play even after the carts leave each room. My sister and I had a chance to ride the first cart first row on our first go and the second time was last cart last row. We both agree with the ride operator as both experiences are great but by far the best experience is in the last cart the last row.
Is it a smooth simple ride? There any hills and how fast is it? Or it is just a ride along and makes you think your going fast and stuff and like your dropping
I actually got to go on this ride a few times. The first time I went though, the train totally bugged out. It started at the drop when the coaster tilted, but didn't release us for a solid minute. We were just sat there, tilted and on the edge of our seats (literally), waiting for a drop we didn't realize was supposed to happen ages ago. Then when we got to some of the screens, turns, and track tilts, all the practical effects played, but none of the special effects worked. We were just sat there extremely confused as to why the car was tilting and water was spraying at us with no audio or video to back it up. Eventually after a couple more small stalls, we made it uphill and _almost_ back to the terminal. It was at the final corner before the car returns to the station that the ride decided it had enough. It stopped there, and none of the employees could get it running again. We ended up having to get evacuated from the ride using a plank to bridge the gap between the car and the service pathway. It was all well and good in the end, and the employees gave us a stack of 1 time use fast passes that could get you to the front of the line on rides like Gringotts that didn't accept the unlimited fast passes you could purchase, which we had. The ride closed for the day under maintenance, and the next day we got the proper experience. It was fun!
This is probably my favorite ride at Universal Orlando. I'm almost posed to put it ahead of Hagrid's just because I feel like the experience as a whole is better, even though the actual coaster is not. The sheer amount of detail that went into the entirety of the queue, the multiple interactive elements, the animatronics, the photo section, the elevator, etc, it's all just SO good and it really makes the queue something you actually enjoy and is as much a part of the ride as the coaster itself.
@@karricompton forbidden journey, as of writing this, desperately needs an update. every time i’ve ridden it, it’s had issues whether it’s the whomping willow not moving, audio cutting out, dirt on some of the screens, etc. imo gringotts is miles better as of now.
I remember riding this for the first time and we broke down in the finale scene. We rode it again later the same day and it went fine and was really fun! I never realized how much work went into this ride thanks for the video!
Funny story about this ride. When I was younger my sister and I screamed " You're a WIZARD Harry" mid ride and immediately the ride shut off for a good 10-15 mins we are stuck sitting in the dark areas of the ride with the screens black waiting for the ride to be reset. I know it never was my fault for the ride breaking down at that exact moment but I did really think it was the best part of my visit to the park lol
I was lucky enough to go on the ride the same week it (and consequently Diagon Alley) opened in the summer of 2014 as part of a graduation gift... the wait times were absolutely insane (5+ hours) but managed to go on it at the end of the day after a 2 hour wait and managed to get front row center in the first car... one of the coolest rides I've been on and so fascinating to see the mechanics behind it - thanks for the breakdown! :)
I absolutely LOVED this ride when I went on it. The way it stopped and I just knew it was going to tilt was incredible. The speed, the scenery was amazing and thrilling. I went on this ride 3 times in one day (I had fast passes so it was much more easier to get on). It’s an amazing ride, overall one of my favorites out there

The line here was pretty long but we had so much fun pointing things out and the amount of interactive stuff the cast members make you do is whack, I liked this ride more than hagrids tbh
My wife and I just rode this ride for the 4th time a few weeks ago during a trip to Disney World & Universal Studios to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. I recently experienced a serious injury that herniated a disc in my neck which limited me from riding any intense rides. Our adventure confirmed that this is still one of my very favorite rides on this planet, despite my injury!
I have never cared for Harry Potter, never read one of the books, only seen the first movie.. but I must say, this and the Forbidden Journey are incredible. The first time getting off both rides, my smile and awe were so great, I though my face might crack.
A few visits ago my husband & I actually got stuck on the ride right at the tilting part for probably around 5 minutes sitting there..completely tilted. Lights came on & everything but they fixed the issue shortly after. But The anticipation of when the train was going to actually take off was killer haha But we thought it was neat because what are the odds of getting stuck right at that part in full tilt!! Probably not many will get to experience that lol Fun times
How it works? It brings in people to this park which was seeing declining numbers since everyone wanted to go to Harry Potter land in the other park. And then with another brilliant move they made it so you had to have a park hopper pass to ride the train/tram ride between the parks. Harry Potter really turned Universal around to become a desired destination.
Just WOW! I tip my hat to Rowling for being so picky about who got the licence to create HP rides because these all look absolutely _amazing!_ For me, knowing the incredible engineering & technology that goes into these rides just makes me more keen to get to the park & ride them myself.... it's so easy to ruin a great ride with theming missteps, but the attention to detail & the ride experience here looks spotless 👏
When I went in November it worked fine, and each time my brother went, when I didn't ride it, it also worked fine. I hope that one day I could be evacuated from one ride.
I know you can edit a reply, but I just realized that you said you get stuck there most of the time, I just want to say that it could be because tge next train didn't reach the next scene or brake run, but it can also be that the whole ride just stops and you just somehow keep on getting stuck there, unless if there is a problem with it or it is working slowly and the train just stops for a bit and then continues.

We went Feb of 2019, the ride was broken down most of the day. Finally got on it once during a short period when it was working. Also, this ride is NOT designed for moderately large or overweight people. It is very uncomfortable and a tight fit, but a very fun ride. By the way , you can get in the single rider line and walk right on to the ride if its not that busy that day.

I rode this and was mildly impressed. We were going to ride it a second time, but they shut down the ride when we got to the front. The engineering involved is amazing and I admire Universal's work even more now.
i went on this ride in april 2017, first time on it was AMAAAZING we went back a few days later and rode it again but it broke down. it stopped for a minute or two and then the ride resumed, with all house lights on so we could see the studio around it and of course the screens and effects didnt work as well as with lights off. it was interesting to see behind the scenes of the ride. it also worked out well as on the ride where it broke down we were at the back of the cart so didn't feel like it was as good, but after the faulty run came to an end they let us all ride again and this time we were at the front - AMAZING ONCE AGAIN! it also felt like fate as in addition to riding gringotts once again, we were also given a single use fastpass so used it on the new exclusive jimmy fallon ride that was only available to fastpass guests in the day time. it was so lucky that we'd broken down on gringotts as we got to use our fastpass on jimmy fallon so our family got to experience another great ride on that holiday that we never would have :)

To put my opinion out there, this ride actually disappointed me quite a bit, probably partially my fault for having the wrong expectation. I was hoping for a ride similar to The Mummy at Universal Florida, a ride that was first a roller coaster, but also had some unique effects and show pieces. I was hoping to zoom all around and past Gringotts vaults instead of: Drop 1, stop & tilt, move a bit, stop&tilt, move a bit and its over.
Nagini always made me flinch no matter how many times I rode the Escape from Gringotts. If anything, I flinched even harder the second time than I did the first time! lol
This attraction is financially awesome. I've never boarded it as Hermione Granger before in my life. My parents never boarded it as Mr. and Mrs. Granger before, either. PLEASE upload a video of Flight of the Hippogriff at Universal Studios Hollywood which is located in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. 🥂
One of the most incredible pieces of amusement technology, but one of the most underwhelming ride experience. I just wish it had more practical effects, and longer high speed sections
I was surprised by the elevator thing, I knew the screens where screen But I thought it was an actual elevator just with fake affects to add whimsy. Apparently it’s not going anywhere, so that’s something
This ride was awesome, once I've been on a ride I love to see the behind the scenes of how it all works. I'm a new sub, I'll be working my way through your channel! 👍👍
This ride is a very strong second place ride for the Wizarding World areas, with Hagrid's easily being number one for me. But I still had a great time with Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff
Yeah, I asked them about using their footage for a video like a few years ago before I got this series off the ground. It's been in the works for a few years.
This ride was awesome. I loved every single second of it. But I was there I didn't get to experience the pre-shows, the goblins talking and the elevator part. The elevator was wide open on both sides, goblins were silent and there was no pre-show, even on the Hagrids ride, just the dog walking around. It was just a straight line to the ride pretty much. Kind of disappointing tho, now that I see it. I guess that with this COVID thing they're not doing certain stuff.

That was fun!☺️Thanks for the post.👊🏾
I love these videos. Please continue to do more rides at disney and universal
It gets better the more you ride it. And once you appreciate the ride system and how much it does, you'll like it even more.
Dude, we were all expecting another Mummy ride
Nagini always made me flinch no matter how many times I rode the Escape from Gringotts. If anything, I flinched even harder the second time than I did the first time! lol
The gear was on the first shot of the Jaws shark fin, beautiful subtle placement
Please pretty please can we have one about Epcot’s Soarin’? I just love that ride
Yes! Please!
I built 4 Harry Potter lands and expansions world wide. My dad actually did the fire
Can you explain what you mean?
Excellent video!! I had no idea so much went into this ride.
One of the most incredible pieces of amusement technology, but one of the most underwhelming ride experience. I just wish it had more practical effects, and longer high speed sections
I thought I got rid of you, muggle-borns!
Elaborate ride and elaborate video...thanks!
The queue is far more fun than the "ride". It's mainly a series of blurry screens you watch, with a ride vehicle that ferries you between screens.
Excellent video! Thank you!
Great job as always Amusement Labs!
I was surprised by the elevator thing, I knew the screens where screen But I thought it was an actual elevator just with fake affects to add whimsy. Apparently it’s not going anywhere, so that’s something
Wow. Learned a ton. Really great research and insights. All enthusiasts appreciate your work!
Wasn't expecting that drop the first time I rode this, scared the hell out of me.
This ride was awesome, once I've been on a ride I love to see the behind the scenes of how it all works. I'm a new sub, I'll be working my way through your channel! 👍👍
Excellent video!
The parks just get better and better.
This ride is a very strong second place ride for the Wizarding World areas, with Hagrid's easily being number one for me. But I still had a great time with Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff
Flight of the hippogriff is like 25 seconds from drop to stop…. Forbidden journey is just a worse gringotts
I was lucky enough to ride it like 3 days after it came out
I’ve seen How it works cause I got stock on the track drop and had a ride with lights on it’s really cool
Such a complicated ride!! OMG! Also, great video!
Can you do The Mummy Ride???? love your vids keep it up😁
The best ride in the park!!!!
I just discovered this channel. Great videos!
At 8:36 is Jenn Tracker. You used Tim Trackers footage from the first time he rode it.
Yeah, I asked them about using their footage for a video like a few years ago before I got this series off the ground. It's been in the works for a few years.
Lol I noticed her to
Who cares, they’re horrible people.
12: :47 why do you say that?
@@Toohot2handle758 I’d like to know why as well
this is one of my favorite rides at universal 🥰
My favourite ride of all time! (although haven't been on Hagrid's yet!)
Oh that’s a tough one both equally excellent but very different experiences!
ALL HAIL HOW IT WORKS!
thanks for posting this, i was not going to use 3+ hours lining up for anything.
best channel on youtube
People who have to know whats gonna happen before riding or they wont ride it because they cant prepare for the scary drops gang
Sit in a queue line which your probably already doing corona I don’t think so
Escape from Gringots is a pretty good attraction. Universal did a good job
Intamin have said in interviews that they in fact provided the track, trains, and moving track elements
That 2 hour wait to ride this for the first time was worth it for me
love ur videos keep it up bro
