Well that would be impossible to do considering I'm in my late 50s and I'm more interested in investments that could set me up for retirement in my 60s, my goal is at least $2million.
@@MarcelPhilips Very true, If you're looking for help building a retirement nest egg, you most likely want a certified financial planner with expertise in retirement planning. With the aid of a coach, I grew my reserve from $160k to almost $600k during this Red season.

Hey Afzal, great video as always! Applications for Spring Week's are coming up (Goldman's opens July 1st) and I was wondering if you could please make a spring week applications video?! Talking about the technical knowledge needed, the application process, how to prepare, your own experience..etc. It would be so useful! Keep up the good work.
Congrats on 15K! My question for the Q&A - Is it possible to transfer from Audit at Top 4 Accounting Firm to an Investment Banking Role? If so, how would you recommend going about this?
I work at an asset manager, and I think the promotion period is shorter now, or at least the one I work at is, its 2 years from Analyst to Associate, and 3 years from Associate to VP (if you've done really well)
Can you do a video about work/life balance? Like how often you get days off/do you get weekends off/are there times where you can work from someone other than the office? Like if you’re going on vacation.
Great video Afzal. It would be great if you could share what you know about getting into finance (IBD, markets, AM, risk) without a summer internship? I'm graduating from UCL Economics and I'm considering the MSc Financial Economics programme at Oxford, but I want a clearer idea of whether I stand a chance of landing a job in finance with no prior direct experience.
Looking to start a business in the "family office" sector. That's about as private wealth management as you can get. Managing the portfolios of the elite
Hi Afzal, thank you for the video :) i still have a question where i seem not to find any relevant information about. Do you know if a internship in Export/Trade Finance could be helpfull for a later internship in Investment Banking, more especifically M&A? I would aprecciate it a lot thank you :)
can you make a video on the job descriptions of an investment banker and the roles that they apply for as freshmen and what job descriptions they apply as they get some experience
In Brazil internships are like part time jobs, usually 6 hours a day for the whole semester. Usually people work one or two years before graduating, at the same time they are having classes, not only during vacation like in the US. It pays very badly, GS for example ony pays US$ 550 a month.
Hi Afzal. I watch all your videos and I find them extremely insightful, so thank you. I am starting an internship on the buy-side as an investment analyst in 3 months. Could you make a video on how best to prepare for an incoming internship?
Great informative video! Could say a few words on when is it beneficial to go for a MBA and it’s perks in an IB career? Really loving your channel since I found it a couple days ago 🎉
Hi Afzal, Could you please make videos about ethics in the banking industry, how to consume financial information in a world overflowing with information, and how to understand where exactly our interest lies within an investment bank? Thanks for the great content!
I would like to hear about the level above partners which is the board as you mentioned. How many people usually get there and how much do they earn? For example Lloyd Blancfein was the chairman of GS for many years. What did he do so well that kept him in that position for years.? Hope you will do a video on that :)
You don't have to do a video but could you explain the difference between VPs/Assistant Director/Director? I know they are all mid-level management roles below Managing Director in banking and corporate management but nowhere online explains the definitive difference! is it just that the Vice President/Executive VP terms are used in the US and Europe and the same jobs are titled Assistant Director/Director are British terms? Love the content too, Afzal. You have educated me a lot and helped me decide on my career path!
Did you personally have a goal in mind when entering the world of IB/AM in terms of wanting to be a certain level e.g. VP or MD? Or did you always have an exit plan in mind?
Great question! I went in with the plan to do between 2 to 5 years and then assess my situation i.e. do I want to stay in the same team, role, division, industry, etc. Anything before 2 years is too soon and after 5 years it becomes trickier. As time went on I realised my interests lay outside the industry and as a result I was putting in less effort into my day job. I would advise new graduates to spend at least 2 years in their role and then assessing whether they're happy to carry on or in need of a change. It's important to always have an open mind in that sense and be aware of potential opportunities rather than just locking yourself into one small box for your whole career. Hope that helps :)
hi afzal, I would like to know whats the career growth of institutional sales in an asset management company? I have seen some asset management look for business associate and institutional sales, are they quite similar?
Can you make salaries/bonus system, vocations, social guarantees, so on, of each of the positions and explained based on what exactly, how much usual increases in which companies based on specific criteria’s.
Mr Hussein, another video in UA-cam told me that some banks like GS may appoint master degree holders to the position of associate. I wonder if it’s true for Goldman or other banks. Could you please tell me something you know about this issue?

Hi afzal, I enjoyed the video. I’m about to go into second year of a four year degree at a Scottish uni. Looking to apply for a spring week, however the term dates at my uni don’t line up with the banks spring weeks. What do you suggest I do?
Hi afzal, hi to everyone. Do one has good chance to be hired as analyst in investment banking or other financial institutions with a MSc in management? I could choose some Financials exams among a list of optionals but the majority are about management
wrong. there are many young Directors out there in FO. D or Exec D then MD. then C suite. Infra include AVP before VP. VP FO are essentially AVP due to not wanting A Vice President in the title and it not coming across with clients too well . hence the skip from Associate to VP
