I just watched your diffusing technique and tried it on my hair. It’s so voluminous and defined. I can’t believe the difference in just 5 days. You showed me how to love my waves. You are a genius. Thank you for sharing this with us. You are a wavy hair angel!❤
Your videos has helped me immensely going curly. I would love to see a video, sped up of course ,the entire process. From out of shower, combing, diffusing AND scrunch out the crunch and or style. That would be super helpful to me. 😊
Hi India, my curl pattern is 2b/c. I sometimes air dry, but mostly I’ve been pixie diffusing lately. I really struggle with getting my roots dry when I diffuse, I’m not sure my current blow dryer will work with your “hands free” technique, but you did make me smile and inspire me to be creative with my technique. Since I started my curly hair journey I’ve watched a lot of influencers, and I gotta tell you that I’ve learned the most from you. For example, I want definition and lately I’ve been diffusing with heat to speed things up,, you just taught me why my hair has become more frizzy. Anyway, I enjoy your channel, I appreciate your tutorials and you sharing about your life. Thanks!
You are the SWEETEST!!! Thank you for taking time out of your day to be so kind and lift others up ❤ The roots take the longest to dry by far babe 😭😭😭 see if you can make my crazy back work (; lol
I always hover diffuse 1st especially towards my roots, upside down, side to side etc A slight cast will start to form & then I go in at every angle pixie diffusing. Once 100% day I use a tiny bit of oil & really STCO working the roots with my fingertips for the maximum volume.
I’m only just discovering my wavy hair…I find air drying the easiest but definitely end up with less definition & the waves drop by day 2/3. But if I diffuse I use the pixie method which gives me good definition and volume. I have thick hair & previously hated the volume, but now I’m embracing my curls I’m loving it!
You're the first I've found who shares my hair type! It's always either coily or very wavy. Thank you so much for your content! This is extremely helpful ❤
Hey chica!!! You are my guide to 🤩all things hair from now on🤩 THANK YOU!!!!! I have tried a MILLION different ways to wear my 2B hair "naturally" wavy/curly (especially in the central Florida heat/humidity), but it has turned out a MESS for years...until YOU!!! I just got the Shark hair system with the diffuser that has the extending prongs, so I'm excited you explained that too!! A THOUSAND thank you's for helping me get my curly hair game on!!!!💃🙌
Dude,...😮 I've been doing today's "curly girl method" since like 1987, and I still learn SO much with these videos. They're so educational. How annoying! LOL I feel like I should have learned at least 10% of this science in 30+ years! Gah!! 😅 🙌
You’re a breath of fresh air, every time I need a boost I just watch one of your videos 😊 I have too much hair and problems with my back so I needed a diffuser that could be light to handle and I found the Imetec “Bellissima” some three years ago which turned out to be a fine choice. I live in Rhodos, Greece, it’s very hot and humid here, but I manage to wash my 3 something (I guess) curly hair once or twice a week and it works just fine for me. Thanx for your videos!
I am all over the place! I love my shark dryer. That diffuser is HUGE and I love it! I have 2b/c curls. I just cut 3 inches of hair that wasn't really damaged just the remnants of pulling my hair straight for 50 years! I am loving my grey coming in and I never EVER thought I would stop coloring my hair! I also hover diffuse the ends and then pixie diffuse for volume, extending the diffuser to reach those roots. Told you I am all over the place!
Your videos saved my hair life! ❤ I have some natural wave in my hair that i never did too much with and ended up getting a chemical treatment to try to enhance the curl pattern aka a “perm” 🙀🤦♀️ I had no idea what to even do with it…but I looked for help and thank goodness found your channel. It’s really helping me to enjoy and just have FUN with my hair. Thank you so much!!! 😘
Just came across your videos and heard you say you are struggling with some hair loss. I've struggled with that, too, and the thing that is FINALLY working for me is 1,000mg daily black currant seed oil. Make sure the bottle spells out the GLA content, as GLA is what helps. I'm using NOW vitamins as it's inexpensive. I started noticing a difference after just 2 weeks. I'm at 3 weeks now and can't believe how much new growth I have, nor how little comes out on the brush any more. The bottle says 2,000mg daily so you could try a higher dose at first, if you wish. Hope this helps you!
I love your videos because I have the same pattern as you! Can you make a video on the best way to apply dry shampoo to curly/wavy hair without making it feel icky/tangled up? I want to make my wash days last longer but don’t want to feel a ton of ashy buildup on the scalp. Your methods are awesome! ❤
I like to hover diffuse, then pixie my 2C/3A hair with my Curlsmith Defrizzion diffuser. I love the giant diffuser bowl…about as big as a dinner plate!
I feel like you have the looks of Reese Witherspoon, the voice of Jojo Siwa (in the best way possible), and the mannerisms and attitude of Jennifer Lawrence and I couldn’t help noticing that through the entire video- a great tutorial btw!
I have curly, type 3 hair (I hate the letter/number system), that is medium to high porosity, fine & low to medium density. I use the curl Smith dryer to hover diffuse on high heat, high speed for 5 to 10 minutes, then switch to my Dyson & pixie diffuse to about 85% dry, then I scrunch diffuse leaving the dryer on the rest of the way. Yes, I know, this sounds complicated, but I got the curlsmith dryer for more than 50% off & found out it's fantastic for hover diffusing due to the huge diffuser, but prefer my Dyson for the rest of it. Sometimes I don't want to go thru the trouble & just use the Dyson.
Hi sweet friend! Thank you so much for the love and I’m so glad you enjoyed the video ❤❤❤ I feel like the pixie diffusing method just works so well for wavy girls in general
For years I have air dried. I’m a master hair clip clipper, which I learned to do several years ago. I clip my hair to lift it off my scalp and it works amazingly well. When my hair was not very healthy, it would be dry enough for me to work in an hour. Since my hair is healthier, it takes much longer to dry. So I’m now getting into diffusing more to dry it quicker. But if I can get away with it, it’s air dry all the way.
Since cutting 10 inches off, my now shoulder length hair does best with micro-plopping, sit for 15 min after styling, then hover diffuse with pick to lift roots for about 15 min, then pixie diffuse. Because I have coarse high density hair that is 2c-3a, it takes a long while to dry. After 45 minutes I am done with 70% dry hair and let the rest air dry because my arms are too tired. Looking for a stand that works with Dyson so I can get my hair fully dry without my arms going numb😊
I have a quick question....on my second and 3rd day my curls dont look as good as the 1st day . What do u do to keep your curls looking good . And yes , i do the pineapple . I have learned so much from you . Your truly wonderful. Happ i found u.😊
Great video, as always so fun to watch! Fine, dense, wavy (all the 2s) here, so drying in general is a marathon some days. After stylers, plop or microplop, i add hairspray to help with cast and hold before diffusing. Hover with Dyson diffuser initially to dry roots/set products. Then i like to use my Diffon diffuser on sections to the scalp until at least 50% dry (no pixie diffuse i risk the frizz 😁), then air dry. I'll add a bit more hairspray after fluffing/SOTC.
This is so helpful! I have 2A/B hair and typically air dry because diffusing has always left a halo of frizz, but I've always tried hover diffusing. I think the pixie diffusing may be the key!!!!!
I have finally gone back to trying curly styles again. My hairdryer is old, and when I tried to defuse the other day, it kept getting sucked into the back of the dryer. Definitely checking this diffuser out!
I'm a wavy, I usually only diffuse if it's really cold or I washed before bed. Otherwise it's the India air dry for me. ❤ Flipping my hair while it dries is the only way I get any lift at the root.
Im all the types of drying. I hover, pixie, and air dry. Usually 5 min hover diffuse my roots, 5 min pixie diffuse my ends and air dry the rest of the way usually 2 hours. My hair is coarse, long, low porosity, and 2b waves if that helps.
So cute. Carrie Bradshaw all the way. Love it. Thanks. I have wavy , not curly hair. Mine is fine , medium thickness. Way thinner than yours and yours is more curly. Mine is a beach wave. Diffusers can make my hair less wavy. lol. Go figure. So I live in a desert and I go out back for 5 minutes , then I style. When I am at the beach , it’s very beach wavy and yes there is some frizz. lol. I also use a little heat , I go around the roots , which are flat, and I use it to add more texture. Pointless when I am at the beach. lol. I use very limited heat and I have no bleach on my hair. It’s pretty healthy and I use unite to protect and help the wave pattern. Thanks for your tutorial!! It is fun.
I love my black orchid/Amaxy diffuser and my new Hot Tools hairdryer. The Amaxy is identical to the Black Diffuser. The first dryer I tried didn’t fit with my diffuser. I had to find specific “plumber products” from Lowe’s. I recently bought a Hot Tools dryer from TJMax at $29.99. I LOVE the new dryer! This fits the diffuser which allows the set up to avoid looking janky/ jury rigged dryer set up. The dryer has 3 heat settings and 2 speeds. The diffuser that came with the dryer was horrible!! It blew my hair all around even at the lowest speed, of course making a frizzy mess! The Amaxy hair diffuser fixed that right away. So happy I bought the Hot Tools dryer. It is much better than than the Conaire. It had better heat and actually fit the diffuser. Try it out with the Black Orchid or Amaxy diffuser. I bet you’ll love too!
What diffuser settings do you use for Dyson? Oh!! And as an owner of the Shark Flexstyle… I think you’d LOVE IT !! The diffuser is adjustable and the machine itself is an all around better choice for us wavy gals ❤
Pixie diffuser here, when I don't air dry. I find my curls don't retain much definition of any kind if I air dry, but I like yo give my hair a break from the heat sometimes.
Thank you so much for doing this video. Nobody ever explained it in this way. So I never use the diffuser because my hair would get so frizzy and kinky.
I have wavy hair, idk if it’s 2a, b or c, I’ve only just learned about a year ago that I even had wavy hair. I am so lost, overwhelmed, confused and all the info I see contradicts one another leaving me even more lost and confused. I don’t have money to keep trying products honestly, I don’t even think I know what good healthy wavy hair on me would look like. I could have it now and not even know because of how confused I am. Maybe my expectations are high or maybe my hair is more messed up than I think. Idk.
2C/3A hover diffuse to start the first 5 minutes and then pixie diffuse the rest of the way from side to side and upside down with the orchid diffuser :)
Hey India! 😊 I have 2C/3A hair and I am lazy so I hover diffuse. I will try the pixie diffuse with the next wash. Thank you so much for suggesting the Tymo. I just received mine and I love it! Cut my drying time in half for my shoulder length hair. Great dryer! Enjoy your day! ☕️☀️
I do both for faster dry time. I’ve never noticed extra frizz since I mainly focus on hover diffusing my roots in every different direction & then pixie diffusing the rest, getting my ends too since I have long hair.
2B/2C fine shaft, but med. density & wants to cling flat to my scalp. My best set up to volume success is vent brush in the shower. After wash/conditioner, all flipped upside down in the shower, add in the moisture locking product (leave-in condit. etc) and vent brush it in, upside down from the roots (all in the shower) to get that hair shaft from clinging to my scalp. THEN, add the gel/styling product. Brushing styling product results in stringy hair, not curl clumps. Always apply that gel in AFTER the brush. All done quick, lazy girl in shower. Scrunch water out like India, get dressed, brush teeth, Pixie dry, upside down just to get out the soppy wet, then upright like India, just 50% dry cuz I'm lazy. Go about your morning ignoring your hair except for occasional upside down finger fluff just-at-roots. Results? Robert Plant hair. Easy, fast, lazy-girl routine. Rock star hair, I have a layered cut, beachy despite being bra-length. Day 2-whenever? Pineapple nights. Morning: Wet hands, add a few drops of argan oil to palm, scrunch-scrunch length , flipped upside down. Fluff roots. Boom. Done.
Oh how I wish I could make myself take the time to diffuse…alas…. I am a nighttime showerer, so I put in product, use a microfiber towel to squeeze out the excess wet. Then…..I got to bed! I flip my hair up on top of the pillow and 😴 😴 😴. I know, I know….everyone says you will get a fungus or something? I don’t know….I have NEVER had a problem. It is essentially air drying while you sleep. I have been doing it for years. Could I get better results by diffusing? Maybe. Am I too lazy and feel my results are good enough? Yup! 😬
I usually wash at night, as well. I go to bed with a micro fiber turban on my head and in the morning the pattern is great. I just wish I could get that exact pattern to stay. LOL Fingers crossed that I never get a fungus from this method! In the winter I will diffuse and am usually in a hurry and use more heat than I should.
I’ve never tried the pixie method! Can’t wait to try! I play video games on my iPhone while I diffuse and it keeps me from moving the hairdryer around too much! 😂
I hover diffuse with my head upside down until I feel a cast starting, then I will pixie diffuse. But I HATE using the blow dryer and would prefer to just air dry but that can take HOURS!! I have thick, low porosity 2b/2c/3a hair.
I’m a 2b/2c and definitely a pixie diffuse but I didn’t know it had a name! About half way through I spray my hairspray and center part for a half hour and then finish the root diffusing
Sitting in the kitchen in the dark with a white French poodle and giggling at what can only be a private joke cuz I’m clueless. I was hypnotized. Now I’m gonna have to replay so I can understand the words. (You had a glass of wine didn’t ya?)😂🤣😂🥳
Can’t wait to try your tips! I have wavy curly hair and I am a mess with diffusing my hair 😂… always turns frizzy. My hair is long and more curly at the roots than at the middle and end 🤪
I use my laifen hd with it´s original diffuser attachment, but I also use a plastic pasta strainer for a few minutes, it´s quicker like that and it gives me more shrinkage. I think that my routine is a combination of all the metods you mentioned in this video. :D
I recently bought the shark dryer and am kinda annoyed by how much I love it 😂. I never diffused before becuase I didn't like my results. But this dryer is great! I usually only diffuse part way and let the rest air dry but I still get decent definition and some volume! I'm going to try your method to get more volume (I also love big hair) hopefully it works.
I’m not sure what my hair type is. It looks a lot like yours, actually. I’ve found that starting with hover diffusing to get a cast going, then pixie diffusing to tighten the waves and create volume, then going back to hover to lock in what the pixie diffusing did gives me a result I like. I only root clip in the very front to get my hair out of my face. It wants to lay forward and make me look like Cousin It 😂
I have a 3a/b curl pattern. My hair is pretty healthy but I did get highlights about 6 months ago. I like to hover diffuse for elongation. I have the Dyson but couldn’t get over the price tag so I got a refurbished one for about $200
I have a 2b/2c wave, and diffusing right after washing has never worked well for me. If I wait until the next day to re-wet my hair enough to reform my curl pattern (and leave my roots dry) I can get SO much more definition and volume by pixie diffusing!
Have to tried micro plopping to get rid of all the extra moisture once all product/stylers are applied? I then hover diffuse at every angle getting at the roots mainly & last go into pixie diffusing.
I’m learning so much. I got tired of coloring in late 2018 (after a hairdresser literally made the front of my hair look like Ramen noodles-not kidding!) So I wore a Pixie for years and decided to grow out about a year ago. Every single silver hair is wavier than my hair has ever been, and I love it. I was the air dry queen, but purchased a Laifen recently, and I’m learning to use it. Thank you for all of the tips and suggestions!
So I started my curly journey a little over a yr ago. I never had curly hair until COVID and menopause, so I guess that's something positive! Anyway, I have bleach highlights and long, very dense but fine 2a-c hair. No matter what I do I always end up with tangles at the roots before I even apply my products. I struggle with application and diffusing techniques because everyone says "DON'T TOUCH YOUR HAIR!" But I end up messing it up anyway because it looks so messy at the roots, and I don't want it to dry that way. I have watched a lot of your videos (which are great!) but have not mastered the technique. Any suggestions?
I have like 2a/2b hair. I just did a butterfly cut and if I air dry it my layers will do that thing freshly cut hair does (especially short layers) when it flips outward and I decided to try diffusing it and seeing how it turns out and I LOVE it. However I'm not someone that really knows how to use a blowdryer or diffuser all that well so I'm still learning.. I don't like the stringy look after from the gel but noticed I can gently brush it out with a wide tooth comb when it is completely dry. I'm using the Curl Talk Sculpting Gel. If anyone has any other suggestions on what to do with the hair after it dries it would help a lot ♡
Pixie diffuser here. Occasionally I'll see a youtuber who just insists that you should hover diffuse and I'll try it again and guess what?? It just doesn't work for me! I think I'll just stick to pixie diffusing from now on
I'm looking at purchasing a Tymo hair dryer. I will be traveling to New Zealand and am considering the Lite model to reduce weight over the larger model. Can anyone give an opinion on the smaller model?
I always diffuse bending over upside down. It’s killing me the longer my hair gets about as long as yours. I need a new diffuser method. I have a dyson and use the black orchid. 3a curls
Loved this diffusing PSA! 🫶🏼 I have a shark and a black orchid diffuser and while I like the speediness of the shark, I think I’m getting more frizz with it. Currently I hover diffuse after I microplop and that dries my cast more. I’ve found that when I SOTC, going back in with the diffuser gives me more volume and covers any of the sections of my hair that was in a curl that I couldn’t feel.
😐My hair diffusing is always frizzy, although with good volume. But i have too rewet ,refresh part of the hair located just below the ears .Below roots .Always& every time same story. If i won't do this my hair are wavy/frizzy,and without definition, only, good volume+partly waved.
I just watched your diffusing technique and tried it on my hair. It’s so voluminous and defined. I can’t believe the difference in just 5 days. You showed me how to love my waves. You are a genius. Thank you for sharing this with us. You are a wavy hair angel!❤
I don’t even have curly hair, I just love your personality and watching your videos 🫶🏻🫶🏻
You’re hilarious❤️
Seriously, I do have curly hair like hers so I love the tips, but I could listen to her all day!!!
Your videos has helped me immensely going curly. I would love to see a video, sped up of course ,the entire process. From out of shower, combing, diffusing AND scrunch out the crunch and or style. That would be super helpful to me. 😊

PLEASE do a diffuser video for those that can only afford a Conair or similarly priced blow dryer. Thank you!
Diffuser girl all the way for my waves. It really helps me get more volume & makes my waves tighter & prettier.

Thank you. Working with smaller sections and cool setting for a smoother result was a very helpful tip.
I wish you showed us a full session of how you diffuse from start to end.

Hey, India, I loved hearing your diffusing tips!
I’m a 2c/3a gal and I enjoy a combo of hover/pixie diffusing.
Happy Weekend!! 🎉

Thank you so much for doing this video. Nobody ever explained it in this way. So I never use the diffuser because my hair would get so frizzy and kinky.
I really hope that you try to diffusing your hair and have a good experience!! it’ll take some practice, but save you so much time ❤❤
I have wavy hair, idk if it’s 2a, b or c, I’ve only just learned about a year ago that I even had wavy hair. Idk.
My $30 hairdryer with diffuser works just fine. It’s the method that works
I wish I could love my curls as much as you and I love yours!!
Dyson only ! hover defuse, I have learned so much from you !!!!!! love you
I’ve never tried the pixie method!
Lol I just watched your video from a year ago on diffusing and I didn’t even realize you posted a new one!
This was awesome information!! I always always air dry...I'm ready to start the diffuser !! 😂
Hi india love tymo....love volume...these days more volume than definition
I recently bought the shark dryer and am kinda annoyed by how much I love it 😂. I never diffused before becuase I didn't like my results. But this dryer is great! I usually only diffuse part way and let the rest air dry but I still get decent definition and some volume! I'm going to try your method to get more volume (I also love big hair) hopefully it works.
Hair is beautiful. Rocked the tips
I have the Dyson but couldn’t get over the price tag so I got a refurbished one for about $200
Ok I have to try that pixie method!
I legit air dry in small bedroom with a space heater going most of the time lol
Not the zigzag comment!
WHY ARE YOU CALLING ME OUT LIKE THAT?? 🤣
I love your videos. Our hair is exactly alike. 🎉
What I do is hauver diffuse, then when I have a gel cast I pixie defuse the rest of the way. I get about 80 to 90 percent. Side to side of course. 😊
Congratulation on the vídeo👏🏻 and Happy Friday 🌞
Wen i see the results at the end i bee like wow😮
What do you think of the Shark diffuser?
I’m normally half airdry and half diffuse. These tips are awesome tho!
I always hate how my curls turnout when I diffuse to I just let it air dry but I really want to figure it out!
2C and some 3A underneath. I like to air dry
Pixie diffuser here. Occasionally I'll see a youtuber who just insists that you should hover diffuse and I'll try it again and guess what?? It just doesn't work for me! I think I'll just stick to pixie diffusing from now on
Hi. Could you tell me what Bumble and Bumble products you use please?
Air dry. I like your videos. I flip my hair from side to side now.
How do you get the volume at your roots?? My hair lays so flat at the roots and doesn’t seem to start curling until about 3 inches past my scalp.
Happy weekend, India!❤
Thank you so much for watching friend! I hope you have a great weekend
I'm looking at purchasing a Tymo hair dryer. I will be traveling to New Zealand and am considering the Lite model to reduce weight over the larger model. Can anyone give an opinion on the smaller model?
Love your videos. Thank you.
Lol! I love the lazy method at 9:53
2b/2c hover diffuse + pixie diffuse 😊
Off topic...but can your mom discuss HRT? Thanks!
I like to air dry. It seem that when I use a blow dryer, I get more frizz. I don’t know my hair type.
Aww love all these
,2a, hover diffuse. Pixie diffusing, even at the end, makes a lot of hairs go wonky
I always diffuse bending over upside down. It’s killing me the longer my hair gets about as long as yours. I need a new diffuser method. I have a dyson and use the black orchid. 3a curls
I’ll try any method that will give me more wave and volume. 2a,b and c. Some 1. Very frustrating. Air dry first then diffuse at the end.
Your awesome🎉😊 thank you so much
2a waves and I have to diffuse it my hair looks like wet spaghetti 🥹
😐My hair diffusing is always frizzy, although with good volume. But i have too rewet ,refresh part of the hair located just below the ears .Below roots .Always& every time same story. If i won't do this my hair are wavy/frizzy,and without definition, only, good volume+partly waved.
Me watching this with my wet hair on the subway on the way to work 😅
I'm trying to use your code and it says it's not valid! 😢
Get out that extra water sister 😂😂
Hello Morgan 🙋♂️
Hooded dryer / hover and pixie lol
❤
Have a fabulous weekend friend
I love this video but the audio is KILLING my ears, the echo XD
