As I type, I have my wavy/curly hair cast in beautiful stiff waves, twirls, curls, and ringletty clumps, and it’s because of you and your videos 😌 the last couple weeks, I have watched/followed so many videos of other curl queens “scrunching the heck out of” their hair and getting beautiful curls… but I literally ended up with your example of stringy hair at 0:07 😂 Your hair was the PERFECT example for me as a wavy/curly texture with blonde/lightened hair. I also REALLY appreciate that you actually show what not to do (rather than just say it, most of my prior mistakes were due to unclear instructions lol) I now know that I am a pulse->wet->pulse->plop->pixie girl 😁 Thank you thank you thank you 😭
Yes! I love the Garnier Curl Jelly. I bought so many tubs in case it gets discontinued. I don’t even use mousse or anything first, just the jelly, and after diffusing a little argan oil.
thanks for all the tips! i'm 13 and I've just recently discovered my hair is wavy, so I'm still quite confused at to what to do sometimes but your channel has helped me a lot ❤
I also wish I had embraced my curls at that age. After washing my hair, I would try to keep it all straight by using bobby pins to flatten it. Hair hatred and fighting it went on for far too long. Good for you for embracing it! There’s lots of info available on the internet now. You’ll find what works for you!
I, too, had curly/wavy hair as a child, teen, and adult. In the 70's, the style was board-straight, so I fought my curls Every Single Day through high school. When flatirons were invented (I should've invented them!!! LOL), I embraced board straight hair for the first time and loved it; but constant usage of a flatiron can damage the curls. Now, in my 60s, I fully embrace my curls and use many similar products to get to those bouncy, full curls. Love it! This was a really good video!
@@VlangdonnnDid you try it? I did. I put on the mousse/ foam first on wet hair and then a cream/ leave in product afterwards. And I must say...My curls have more hold and are more defined. Versus using the products the other way around.
Super hard water here in Florida. Shower filters don't really work but definitely clarify your hair on the regular. There are many good clarifying shampoos out there.
Have you tried the Jolie brand I linked?? I’ve heard AMAZING things. But I also linked some apple cider vinegar rinses and scalp resets to remove buildup 👏 bc girl Florida water is HORRIBLE 😭😭😭
When you squish to condish do you wring out the water from your hair when after shampooing before adding conditioner or do you rake it into soaking wet hair before scrunching?? Thank you if anyone can suggest! ❤
Good tips India! You are right, cuz I only air-dry and I would say I get a step-down in the clump department versus what I would get with warm/heat drying. Oh yes, and love the water in the ATL area where I also live, I've never had any issues with it.
I'm doing all knds of experiments to find what is best for my curly hair. Living in an apartment complex, I have no water choce...it's hard water. I have been using the Treluxe products. So far, they are working well. I like them because they are so light-weght. I use mousse at my roots and then a curling creme followed by a light gel smoothed over my hair. I'm trying various other cremes, too. The trim, I agree with, as my trims make my hair come back to life. I do have one question about styling/diffusing...I have a clowlick on the back of my temple. How do I make it disappear?
There’s multiple methods you can use to get volume. Upside down as long as your hair isn’t too short, I’ve seen some women use clips on their roots and other tools.
I honestly don’t see a difference with the foam mousse if I put it on before or after curl cream. I think the “rule” is curl cream THEN foam. But some days I break the rules 😂 living on the edge lol
I have the Maui Moisture foaming mousse. It stays wet and sticky, never dries, then frizzes. What am I doing wrong? Nothing worse than having a sticky wet moussed hair on your neck for 10+ hours.
Is true about the water i was raised in miami and my hair was so frizzy and horrible the minute i moved here to Georgia my hair is now way better and my curls look incredible
If you need a hard water hair treatment, I recommend going to a hairstylist and asking them if they can get you Malibu hard water wellness. They used to make a retail kit that includes shampoo, conditioner, and packets of their crystals that you mix with water for a more intense treatment
honestly it depends how my hair feels that day. if I feel like my hair is really dry I will rinse it out but not fully. To create a leave in conditioner! But if my hair is super hydrated then I will rinse it out fully (: in this video, I rinsed it out fully!! But sometimes I’ll leave a little in(:
When i go visit my dad. I take a water filter. Aqua Bliss or whatever you perfer and I am able to hook it to my dads shower and then i take it off when i leave. It does help I think. Just an idea.
Not sure if this will help, but, I struggled to retrain my curls after years of straightening, bleaching, and colouring. But, after I went grey I decided natural colour should have natural curls. I knew my hair was 3a/3b years ago when I used to let my curls be curly. I, for a long time, thought I'd just destroyed my curls and would never get them back. But, for a couple of months, I finger curled my hair (trying to pay attention to the direction of the curls) to remind them and found they came back. Its a bit arduous in the beginning but now they remember what they're supposed to do. It's a bit old school but so am I. Hope it helps.
Have you tried applying a leave in in sopping wet hair and squishing then squishing with a curling gel. I finger that my baby fine curls won't clump unless it's sopping wet
The Redken bonding stuff is full of drying ingredients that are not good for curly hair, especially isopropyl alcohol. It also has POLYQUATERNIUM-37 which is like microplastic and damages the environment. I would not advocate for such products.
That's alot of products and steps to get that look. If you only have to do that once a week, not so bad....but when you're in your 60s, that routine is not practical. My curls go fuzzy once I sleep on them.
I have shoulder length hair(wet) so it is short, but my hair looks the same in the morning as it does the night before because of satin or silk pillow cases. If you sleep on satin or silk, your hair should not frizz or even get messed up over night. You can also use a satin bonnet. But I am a hot sleeper, so a bonnet makes my head sweat. The pillowcases work best for me.

Read the chemicals before you use them.
@@indiabatson26a tip from a wavy gal you can start with the scalp and get even more body!
It’s interesting you used that mousse before a curl cream… will have to try that! Thanks for an amazing, super informative video as always 🥰🌸💞
I was thinking the same thing!! Gonna give this a try, as well.

Can you share what eyeshadow/eyeliner you are wearing? It’s there but so subtle. It looks so nice.
Try the bounce curl brush!
May I ask which diffuser you are using? Love your video and side note- you are stunning!
This!!! Thank you for the tips. I have amazing clumps from my wash today!!!!
THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY TO HEAR🎉❤

Do you rinse out your conditioner??
Yes i need to know too
Are you running all the products into the top of your hair and into the roots? Your hair is gorgeous btw!
So did you rinse the squish to consish? Or did you leave it in your hair at the end?
My daughter has curly hair I love how she play with the curls ❤❤❤ .
Do you have a video where you actually show you doing the whole head? Like a hair diffusing tutorial.

Johny bravo volume 😂 love it!
The girls that get it get it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Cartoon Network girlies unite lol
I need to try pulsing because scrunching really does bring frizz into my wavy to curly hair
Do u have any suggestions for a less expensive jiggly gel? Thnx
Kinky Curly curling custard is under $20
Not your Mother's curl jelly...awesome!
What brand/model of diffuser are you using in this video?
I love how you describe things - I feel like you’ve been watching me do it all the wrong ways 😂🤣😂
Do you diffuse upside down to get the volume or just let the roots air dry?
There’s multiple methods you can use to get volume. Upside down as long as your hair isn’t too short, I’ve seen some women use clips on their roots and other tools.
I cant see the products links or names 😢
Do you set with hairspray
That’s interesting that you put the foam in before the curl cream. Does it make that much of a difference?

It’s from conair!!! Super affordable, you can grab it at target (:
Beautiful standard poodles. I’m a poodle girl too.
What’s the difference between the curl foam and the curl cream? 🤔
how do you use the bond builder? did you let it sit at all before shampooing?
HI, where can I find a list of the products?
How do you go from not using heat to using heat on fine curly hair, medium porosity. Then keep your curls and no heat? Thank you.
Would tou please review curlsmith products.
Simple shampoo, condish, an one style product and one volume foam ?
Thank you!

I have wavy hair, but sometimes my ends become straight at the ends. I do bleach my hair
I noticed you didn't rake the product through your hair, just the pulsing. I've been raking/brushing my curl cream.
which method do you find works better for you?
Im lucky since apparently Boston has some of the best water in the US, I had no idea until I looked it up.
I've been in a panic over Maui discontinuing the hair gel. I can't seem to find anything that works as well as that did on my hair :(
I have trouble with my hair sticking to the back of my scalp.
I don't like having too much product because it irritates my scalp and feels sticky after drying
