Today I will be exploring all the childhood signs I was gay with my good friend Remy. Remy was one of my only friends who suspected I was gay before I came out. He's been a great friend and supported me coming out. He will be sharing some things he saw in me that made him question my sexuality/think I was gay.
Thanks for helping me out with the video Fen (Remy)!

Remy may be straight (and you're really lucky to have a friend like him) but he looks at you with real affection. I think it's important not to ascribe the bonds of friendly affection and even admiration with sexual desire of any kind. There are many kinds of love, and the innocent love of true friends is surely the highest.

Totally relatable for me. This describes me to a tee, always into masculine energy, for both romantic and platonic relationships. I feel like alot of gay guys are afraid to live this way, because it really is tricky figuring out how to navigate the initial awkwardness inherent with straight friendships. It feels so good when those old friends you were scared to tell just accept you, like this.

This series really is entertaining. I just got back from my 45th high school reunion, and no one in high school (except my very DL secret boyfriend and a couple of other guys who I’d slept with) had any idea I was gay. This was the first reunion where I brought my husband of 40 years, and everyone was cool, of course. But I happened to overhear a conversation with several of the people who were questioning my 3 best friends that I hung out with all the time, and they were asking them, “So you guys didn’t know Randy was gay?” And they were like, “Nope, we had no idea.” The first one to suspect only caught on once I’d moved in with my husband and we shared a bedroom in a two bedroom apartment. I was planning on coming out that night to him anyway, and when I said, “I’ve got something to tell you, he said, “well, I think I might know what it is...”. After I told him and he said, “ya, I figured”, I asked him how he figured it out and he said, “when I got here and saw that you both shared a bedroom when there are clearly 2 bedrooms available, I thought ‘that’s not normal’. And then he quickly caught himself, saying, “no I don’t mean it that way, that you’re not normal....blah blah blah” and continued to dig himself deeper and deeper!
We laughed hysterically and it totally made it a fun - and relieving- coming out event for me. Lifelong best friends are just such a blessing and I am so fortunate to have some of the best. Obviously you are equally blessed...

Hehe. I think dressing in your mom’s clothes is a sign. I’ve never done it, but I have a LOT of gay friends that used to do that. 😜 And the rough housing, I always used to wrestle with the guys, but it was because I’m small, but strong, and I used to enjoy being able to beat guys bigger than me. What I’ve never understood was gay guys who like straight guys...I’ve NEVER had any attraction to any of my straight friends.

Tbh, the childhood sign that I was gay was attraction to men instead of women. At the gym, I was always in this play pen while my dad worked out (I was 5-8 years old when I went to the play pen. Then I stopped going to the play pen). Women and men worked out there, but I had eyes for the men. My brothers were there watching the women, admiring them. I remember just watching handsome guys lifting weights instead of playing (I'm sorry that I was so weird). When I watched TV shows, I noticed myself liking the man characters. My first ever TV crush was on Finn Hudson from Glee when I was 5. In Elementary school (Yes, Kindergarten through 5th grade), I had a "girlfriend" every year to try and "be a real man". This was mainly to impress my dad who was openly Homophobic. It could have been because I was a little kid, but felt nothing with the girls. I saw every girl as a friend, I made friends with them. When I saw a handsome guy, I had butterflies in my stomach and felt like impressing him. Especially when we did sports activities in gym class. I had my first official crush on guy in 3rd grade, knowing way before then I liked guys. It was on a kid named Simon. We were friends and looked up to eachother. I also had a crush on this Karate assistant instructor in 3rd grade. His name was Brandon. I felt safe around him, I felt different, I felt like I could be myself. I thought he was the handsomest man I had ever seen. I felt something different with a guy rather than a girl, I thought it was weird. I resented myself for it during middle school and freshman year of Highschool. I then started to love every aspect of myself. I actually still friends with my "girlfriend" from 1st and half of 2nd grade. He is FTM trans and he was the first person I came out to. He helped me begin to love myself for who I was. I came out to him a year before anyone else knew. I hid it for a long time until 4 days before my 16th birthday (came out on February 4, 2021). So, those were my childhood signs.

In Grade 4 I only hung out with girls because I liked skipping and wasn't interested in football (Australian Rules). That generated a firestorm of resentment among a couple of the boys who teased me horribly. But I was incredibly stubborn and refused to fall in line. In Grade 5 I spent a lot of lunch times in the library with a buddy. We'd check out a portable cassette player and listen to ABBA. I guess those were two pretty bright red lights. But when I finally came out age 19, even my closest friends were shocked. I thought the whole world could tell, but literally no one had any idea whatsoever.

I don’t think there were any giant signs I was gay when I was younger. I never really thought about it until now. I’m only 14 years old, and fresh out of the closet. So far everyone I’ve told has been for the most part supportive (one of my friends is... misguided at best on what being gay means). But now that I understand my sexuality, I have been thinking about these “signs” of my sexuality. I played with barbies when I was younger. I stopped playing with them when I was five, because even then I knew that “boys aren’t supposed to play with barbies those are girl toys.” When I was between ages 8-10 there were a bunch of Barbie movies my sister and I loved watching. I don’t remember most of them, but from what I do remember the plots are actually good. I never did the thing where I try on my moms fancy shoes, but I did get my toenails painted by my sister in first grade. A few years ago I had my sister teach me how to braid hair (still not very good at it though). I remember always watching the Disney movies with the prince and the princess, and as happy as I was things worked out between the two of them, I never really felt any extreme happiness you get for people when it’s a happy situation but you relate to it’ sort of thing. Ok, a lot of what I’m listing is stereotypes at this point, but hey, they become stereotypes for a reason people. Just don’t assume people are gay if they relate to any of these things, ok? I have never liked any sports of any type. I do not find them entertaining. Part of that might be due to the fact that in elementary school when we played sports for gym class people rarely passed to me so I rarely played. But like, sports on tv. Soooooooo boring for me personally. I’ve never really liked most traditionally “boy toys” like cars growing up. I did however enjoy playing with stuffed animals. A common stereotype I don’t fit is that people think all gay guys have mostly friends that are girls. I did get along well enough with the nice girls in my elementary school, but I was never really ‘friends’ with any of the girls. I do have multiple girl friends right now because I met them in our schools theater productions (yet another stereotype lol). Probably the most obvious sign though, was last year. The topic of gay people was brought up at our table occasionally. It was never serious, just the type of joke where someone says “if you’ve seen (recent Disney movie) you’re gay.” Or, “this Pixar movie is gay.” Either way those jokes were very annoying to me. Because although I didn’t know much about lgbtq stuff at the time, I knew enough to know that what you do and watch has nothing to do with your sexuality. And I expressed how I felt about them making those jokes. I thought I was just passionate about this topic at the time, but honestly looking back I was getting pretty defensive, lol. Surprisingly, no one accused me of being gay. A different day someone was taking about who at our table was most likely gay, and I was not mentioned. However when everyone was discussing it, I felt nervous about someone guessing I was gay. But I still didn’t get why I was getting nervous. I was so deep in denial, looking back. Alright. Well, I can’t really think of any more signs I was gay right now. If I come up with more I’ll edit this comment. Wow, you read this far? Thanks for reading, I guess. Have a nice day/night!

I am here because my 11 yr old is showing signs.but I’ve always seen the signs since he was 5🤦🏽‍♀️ I try to talk to him I am an open mother I do t judge but I also don’t accept it knowing that he’s still young. Today I noticed his Snapchat has a lot of group chats under gays, monkeys, etc with gay men kissing. Or asking questions about if you was gay would you date an Asian. My son turned down so many girls that liked him and some of the girls also messages him asking is he gay. He is very mean and nasty towards me his sister and girls and I always wondered why he respects his male friends more and now I’m starting to see why. I’m scared to approach and if I am making him feel uncomfortable. My middle son loves to rough play but my oldest hates it but he will rough play with my daughter. I know gays run on both sides of the family. I will like some help on how to approach him

All thanks to *7hackman* now I get to know whatever is going on with my son

Remy suggested that they have a few drinks, afthe the video shoot , like they use to in high school !
then said to tristan "I shouldn't drink and drive. maybe we should have a sleepover like we used to have!"
"i don'[t mean Wrestle and Rough House like we use to, unless for old time sake , you want to! "
      No Homo! haha

What kind of "help" do you want Jon? You have plenty of time to determine your feelings.

Its not up to people its up to you. Boys doing cartwheels doesn't define your sexuality, its like saying women who play football are lesbians

Well, 7-8% of a men's gymnastics group being gay is an overrepresentation.
Mainly because feminine gay dudes do not do sports. And that's at least a third of the gay male population, which is 5-6% of the general male one.
It's not like actors, where 20-30% of them are gay, but it's still double the percentage you get in other sports, where 3-4% of the group is gay.
I'm not counting bi dudes, 'cause most of us are in the closet.

Number one reason why is; you were drop multiple times in a row. The Second is you were bullied, and for good reasons. The third is..every girl rejected you.
