I am seeing it in the middle schools now, and the kids are miserable and deal daily with levels of ostracism from the 4 in 5 and then they go online to get the validation they need. The firsts are on a global level, independant of your country. It is an international agreement and can be classified as diplomatic more than political. Weapons are not part of Human rights. There is work, health, culture and education.
The constitution is indeed very political. It is the fist text agreed by the politicians of your contry. But a constitution is not intemporal, it is changed on a regular basis, either rewritten or modified. The second modification (or amandement) is the one giving you the right to have a weapon.
Finally, the rights given by God are surprisingly very small. the bible gives more obligation than rights. Currently neither have value in the legal system.

So he knew the suicide statistics for trans students, but he didn't know the overall suicide rate for ALL students? I guess his focus isn't on all students wellness, just certain students...now, if he had known the stats for all students, and then mentioned the stats for trans students as well within that overall rate, I would be okay with that, but, he seemingly DISMISSED everyone else in favor of stating the stats for trans students. We can't have the people in charge of our kids wellbeing PRIORITIZING certain students over others...just be CONSISTENT in how you treat all students.

I went to a private school from k-5th grade. I could read at a collage level in 5th, but not comprehend what I was reading at that level lol. Public school 6th grade I was shocked at the kids struggling to read very simple sentences. Very simple I could have read in k-1st grade. 6th grade was back in 1996, public schools have been failing us for a very long time.

Learning to read has not been a priority in schools for a long long time. In Oregon our governor has removed benchmarks for graduating high school students. Low standards are still better than no standards at all. More and more money is pumped into education and the standards are deteriorating and children who graduate from public schools are often not literate. Schools desperately need to be improved. People graduate from college taking feel good courses are in many cases are still not literate. Educators are on a mission but it is not reading writing and arithmetic.

Yes! Oregon public education standards were pulled two years ago. This year they began pulling ALC, honors and AP courses. Supposed to help struggling students by providing more equitable learning environment. They also rebranded CRT and are now calling it SEL aka Social Emotional Learning.
They took out most phonics in the early 80's. I noticed it right away with my neices and nephews. That's 30 years of scrubbing away the good old fashioned way of learning how to read properly. They put in "sight" reading which isn't nearly enough skill to be an excellent reader. It's terrible!
Sight word lists, or repetitive word placement is supposed to be used alongside sensory training for kids struggling with learning disabilities. For example writing sight words in a plate of sand / writing on textured paper three times a day. It was done in conjunction with primary class vocabulary words. That’s how most states use them. In Oregon they use sight words across the board, all students.
Rep. Mace is one of the most thoughtful and intelligent members of the House. She should be promoted to a leadership role when Republicans take over the House this fall.

An illiterate person is still able to call someone what they ask to be called but they can't read a novel then go on to write an in depth essay on it and explain the themes and arcs within the story. Yes her stats are probably quickly researchered and printed out for her to use off hand but that doesn't change the argument she is making which was the education system is beginning to be run by people who don't have childrens education as the forefront concern but rather passing as many as possible regardless of their ability to think critically, then going on to specifically cater to a select minorities feelings and mental health rather than the childrens overall comprehension and problem solving skills hence the questioned asked which is more important pronouns or reading skills.
Kids are mean and will always bully eachother and the internet has helped them do this even more so and those that are at a higher risk of taking said bullying to heart and dwelling in it are more likely to end their lives or suffer pyschological trauma but that doesn't mean all children should be taught to do better with those particular peoples issues as a core of the education system through strict disciplinary structure (i.e the kids being suspended for not using pronouns). The core tenets of the education system has always been maths, reading, writing and comprehension skills, hence the drop in literate people in schools at grade level and the increase in children with issues such as anxiety, depression and self harm.
If children learn, watch, follow, mimic and be influenced by teachers, the education system as a whole, influencers, streamers and other entertainers and people within their lives about nothing but pronouns and the validation of their feelings impact on the world around them over maths, reading, writing and comprehension skills then obviously the data is going to reflect that change which it does.

My sister had a trans friend in high school who had been sexually abused as a child and frequently felt suicidal. Everyone thought calling her a boy was the cure for her mental health. I was berated for saying the girl needed a proper psychologist. (Luckily she did have one but my sister didn't think it mattered)

Correct pronouns and preferred pronouns are not the same. Referring to a single person as "they/them" are not the correct pronouns for a single person; someone may prefer it, but it isn't correct. If the teacher does not know the difference, how can he answer the question on which is more important? He said pronouns are a part of reading; well, of course they are but shouldn't that be taught correctly...seeing as he is a teacher?

Actually I could picture everyone being "they" if grammar wasn't at all gendered in the first place. I went to school with at least 8 people that could not read. They graduated.... how? No student left behind? Passed English class though. Think about that.
I always wanted to be a teacher. UNTIL
I was in student teaching and recess was terminated because the teacher's union informed all teachers that they did not have to go out and monitor the playground.
The teachers were elated. They had been fighting for this for months.
I was absolutely disgusted because the children were cooped up all day in the classrooms and it was their only time to get out and socialize with their friends.
I went into teaching because I love children and had a natural ability to teach. I was firm but fair. I also volunteered to work after school or on Saturdays to tutor children that needed additional help. The teachers and the union were mortified...They shut that down quickly. That ended my dream of teaching. It became a nightmare.
I took my degree into Social Work where I taught GED to the homeless and was a job coach for those less fortunate. I could look into the mirror when I retired and I knew that I made a difference in the world.

Well, let’s see, the qualifications to be a parent are:
- Have a kid
Being a teacher:
- Some related degree, the minimum level depends on the grade level taught
- Complete an interview with a school
So in terms of who should, I’m giving it to teachers. The only thing parents provide are early social and language foundations that schools build upon. They’re useless after that and can’t teach anything but what they have expertise in better than a teacher using a curriculum.

I took my son out of a school when at 6 he did not know what the vowels were, the teacher was going on about interactions, and woke type BS. His writing is still appalling as they did not get the constant practise needed. Busy painting and the like.
School related performance is more likely determined by familial factors than anything else at an early age. Maybe instead of blaming the teacher, you should have been raising your kid right

Because of what I do for a living I sometimes find following the ada requirements challenging but these people with the pronouns, accommodations and priorities for the gender dysphoric are on a whole nother level. And if I can answer for the man who shouldn't be around kids. There are many things in school and life that are way more important than these made up uses of pronouns.

It’s not only correct from a technical standpoint, but also from a cultural perspective; people have been using they to allude to people who’s gender is not yet known as writing tool to enable plot twists. Maybe if you read more, you’d know that.
