Miss Young is lying claiming the national debt was only $24 trillion just a year ago. Currently, the national debt is now nearly $34 trillion.

Boebert asks Director Young to define "what inflation is." Young answers the question accurately. Boebert interrupts saying "let me answer this for you" and proceeds to answer a different question: "what causes inflation?" Boebert is a slippery one if you're stupid enough to fall for her rhetorical slights of hand. Listening to Boebert, for me, is like listening to fingernails dragging across a blackboard.
And that talent for rhetorical sleight of hand indicates to me that Bobert is not a stupid person. She gives an impression of having more knowledge than she actually has and she is quite skilled in this performance. Without a doubt, Bobert is ignorant, arrogant, and wrong-headed, but for deep down dumb, southern-fried peachtree dish marge is a clear winner.

I remember in high school learning about percentiles among test takers for the National Merit Scholarship Test, aka the PSAT. It frightened me to realize that for all the people in the top 20th percentiles of the scale, there's an equal corresponding number of people in the bottom 20th percentiles. I would agree. It seems that the people in these committees don't want to have their questions answered. They never let the experts speak, and always interrupt. They want to preach and offer their interpretation in to record. Not the expert witnesses. This video is another example of that. As Boebert says, "let me answer that for you...". She is one of three or four of the Republicans are the worse.
Boebert is a failing business person, and this speech shows that she has very little understanding of how the economy or debit works. But they still put her on this committee. Really sad that this is what our government has come to.

I've heard several of her interactions with other congressional members and I do think that she is very abrasive in her communication style, which if she is trying to persuade others to seeing her point of view being abrasive rarely works.

Amazing how often the other half of the inflation equation is left out. It's too much money chasing too few goods. This spate of inflation is very similar to the stagflation of the 70's and early 80's- the cause is a shortage of supply, and raising interest rates does nothing to solve that problem. In the 70's, the cause was a deliberate withholding of production of oil. This time, it's companies figuring out, because of a lack of competition, they can make more money by producing fewer goods. They can control supply that well, because of the lack of producers. Nearly every market segment is controlled by a mere handful of companies that are quite satisfied with the increased profits they are reporting.
