This must just be for folks that don’t use a mattress pad....odd. Best bet is to get food-grade DE and carefully press in to all those holes in your mattress, keeps the bedbugs (that feed off dead skin cells) away + let your mattress be exposed to sunlight and air while your washing/changing linens...or just get a mattress pad cover you can easily wash!

Rubbing alcohol in a spay bottle, clean, sterilized, and prevents and kills bugs. You can do a light spray everytime you change the sheets and or do a heavier spay 2 times a yr. But adding a mattress protector is the key.

Wouldn’t 91 isopropyl alcohol, dry faster? I use mattress pads also, to protect my mattresses. It was a bad day when Shopko closed, as they had the nicest and best priced, ones.

I've used hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle when I didn't have a mattress protector . It works on some stains & it really neutralizes odors if someone or a pet whizz da bed , I've also tried a small amount of laundry detergent & peroxide in spray bottle & then turn on ceiling fan on to air dry it . Best thing to have is a good mattress protector .

Most People Hopefully Use a Mattress-Protector. Some Use one that is Water-Proof. If there are Any Dead Skin Cell's, they would Fall Onto the Mattress Protector from the Sheet's. Can then DO a Thorough Vacuuming.

I learned something new today, and for that, I subbed.
I use baking soda (1 cup) and vinegar (1 cup) when I do my wash at public laundromats, not only do I deodorize and sanitize my clothes, bedding & towels, but who know what went into those machines before I arrived there! I also use them to clean and disinfect my sinks.

Before buying a mattress pad waterproof or not, read the small print. The waterproof ones, you'll discover are made with cancer causing chemicals. The body naturally heats up during sleep, mixing heat and those dangerous chemicals should be a concern for every one. They do come with a warning label even though we usually skip that part.

I have a pretty thick mattress pad on top of a 4" memory foam topper and a mattress with a memory foam top. I will wash the mattress pad and maybe every yr or so have stanley steemer come out clean the memeory foam cooling topper plus my matress and sides of the box spring. I will try to do this in the spring/fall and let in sit in my bedroom in direct sunlight and have to flip it so all sides dry fully along w the entire mattress and they will clean the foam toppers too if you ask once they arrive at your home. Pretty much anything fabric wise they can clean along w all different types of flooring. I have them do my carpeting along w tile flooring at a seperate time along w/ my sectional w chaise lounge. It's worth every penny not to have to do all of that work manually and never get anything as clean as they do. I have a big bathroom and I have saw tips on how to clean grout ( if not mistaken on here) but, not as large as my bathroom. I have used the trick w resolve carpet cleaner foam spray on grout let it sit around toilet area for a few hours or more and take a toothbrush (for dentures) can purchase them at a dollar store. Scrub with a wet denture toothbrush and wipe the grout with a white washcloth from dollar store. You would never imagine how much nastiness can add up around a toilet and surrounding area esp. if you have men/ boys in your home. It also will get rid of any nasty smells due to urine getting in the grout.. ( heard on one of these cleaning tip channels) who has young boys at home. Lol

Vinegar is essentially a dilute solution of acetic (ethanoic) acid in water. Acetic acid is produced by the oxidation of ethanol by acetic acid bacteria, and, in most countries, commercial production involves a double fermentation where the ethanol is produced by the fermentation of sugars by yeast

i have a futon and regularly vacuum the mattress part, but i also have a blanket on top of the futon before putting a fitted sheet on, so, the body fluids go into the blanket, and not the bed....So, every time i wash the sheets, i wash the blanket underneath....However, the futon is not as nice looking or as comfortable as your mattress, so you may not want to do that, but i do recommend vacuuming the mattress, for sure.......
