As a money saving tip, you can rent this machine from walmart, lowes, costco, etc. Maybe not this exact model, but Lowes has one with a hand attachment like this one that can clean the mattress. It’s $30 for 24 hours, and they allow a second day for $10 more. I sound like an infomercial but just wanted to save yall some money and help the environment lol

Thank you for sharing how you cleaned your mattress. I wasn’t convinced with the baking soda/vinegar/vodka/hydrogen peroxide/blue Dawn concoction. If you invest in an excellent mattress, you want to keep it for as long as possible but it is necessary to keep it clean. Now we can have a sanitized and clean white mattress AND clean sheets so we sleep well. I love your accent and subscribed because of that and of course this video. I was so tempted to put my sheets directly on my mattress but I totally recommend mattress covers! You can get them for super cheap and they don't make the mattress any less comfortable (which I thought it would). Loved the video! So satisfying haha!

OMG I get this excited about being able to clean things really well too😂 I also feel the exact same way about a clean car. I just watched a video from someone who preaches about saving money and she said keep your car clean and you won’t want to replace it as much and I could not agree more. This is probably a big reason why you’re able to be a minimalist because what you have is well taken care of and therefore comfortable and not always causing a desire to replace it😃

In my house, we don’t use plastic cover but we put inexpensive blankets over everything like couches, chairs, bed. It saves the furniture and bedding from pets and kids and accidents in general.

I would like to add that this method should not be used on memory foam mattresses if anyone is thinking of this. I have a Temperpedic mattress which came with a mattress covering, In addition, I also have a waterproof cover over this. No water should be used on this type because there is no place for the water to go once it gets in the foam and then mold can set in. Glad you resolved your dirty mattress.

I'm obsessed with carpet shampooing 🤣. It's sooo addicting tos we all the gunk coming out. It's like an asmr but for your eyes! I gotta get myself one of these bad boys, watch I'll be trying to shampoo everything 🤣.

I rented a similar one from Home Depot for $40 and OMG the difference in my rug and couches was amazingggg! I didn’t realized you could get one for $100. Totally investing in one instead of renting for 1 day.
Oh yes I've seen those there as well, they work great specify for if you own rentals and want to clean up a unit once someone moves out. Yea owning a mini one like is great specially if you have kids, my sister is getting one as well since I convinced her lol.

The difference is insane!! Wow! We need a new and bigger mattress anyway but dang that little machine looks so great even for rugs and fabric furniture too.
Get a waterproof mattress cover, they are inexpensive and are great, specially to prevent accidents during "the time of the month" from staining the mattress. I'm portuguese btw, and only old fashioned portuguese people do that, I've never met a Portuguese person that keeps the plastic on mattresses and couches!
Thats a great idea! Oh yes my vava would never and I mean NEVER take it off lol. That got passed down to other family members of mine that still leave there plastic on till this day lol.
I’m portuguese too and my grandma keeps the plastic on the mattresses, not on furniture tho. I use the waterproof mattress cover and is what the rest of my family always used.
My friend’s Italian mom does this too.
How long do you let the mattress dry? I have the same machine lol I bought it 2 years ago and the amount of dirt that came out is satisfyingly disgusting lol I let my mattress dry for about 2 days ha
I let my mattress dry for about 7 hours, I had the window open though so it can dry faster ;). it was cold in the room later on but once I put the heat back on the room warmed up fast.
I didnt know that my bed looks like the same 😕 I can not sleep on it now, ok I need that machine 👌🏽

I’m amazed sometimes how much we think alike. You are a wise person. I also get a kick out of watching dirt disappear-loved to mow the lawn for my parents-to see the grass change height-I don’t know why but I loved it-maybe it’s seeing immediate progress?

haha I bought the small rectangle version of this for my mattress at Walmart for the same price. Worked wonders! You can use it on your carpet too😃 Dominicans also do the plastic on furniture, ask your bf🤣😜 my bfs mom does it hahaha

Girl! Thank you! I've been wondering if my little steamer cleaner was going to work on a mattress I have that had a very bold severe stain or two on it l the kind you toss in washer and comes right out), but on a mattres, just wasn't sure. Did you use HOT water or just warm tap water?
Totally getting this cleaning solution. Also, I saved 2 very expensive carpets with a steam cleaner vacuum (same concept but bigger and keeps water hot). I've cleaned my carpets a few times with this vac and that alone saves $$$ the need to take to a carpets cleaner. Just make sure you get all the water out of carpets and use a fan.

So cheap, then you can just throw it in the wash like a fitted sheet

Walmart has some matress protectors that are waterproof they are reasonable price I always use those. Great video I also used baking soda that explains why my new vacum stopped working .

I ended up getting a shampooed myself (a different version the BISSELL Little Green ProHeat Portable Deep Cleaner 2513G ) but it worked great. I think it is the shampooer that does most of the work but for solution you can make your own with a mixture of laundry detergent, awesome multi purpose cleaner, fabric softener, and oxi clean. All of these ingredients you can grab at dollar tree. Then dilute with water.
