Milk was spilled on carpet...didnt clean it up good enough and it started smelling horrible. So i sprinkled a bunch on the carpet...used the hose to sweep it up and the smell went away! Its amazing!
At the height of my drinking days, I used to get acid re-flux every night badly! And I ended up inhaling it sometimes while sleeping on my back and then having to cough it up painfully out of my esophagus and lungs for hours! Baking soda is a true God-send! What I did was mix a tsp of baking soda with a bit of water(like 3 to 5 tsp water) in a cup so it was sort of strong and I would take a small gulp and feel it fizzing on its way down my throat and a minute later I would be burping up CO2 bubbles! Heartburn completely gone! I found that I could go a few days without the heartburn even! Tums or Rolaids has nothing on baking soda! Just try not to use it all the time because it is *sodium* bicarbonate, after all!
Not gonna lie I thought at first when you started off with “at the height of my drinking days” then “inhaling it” I thought you were going to make a drug joke lol

Thank you for the video and i didn’t know that you could clean a mattress with just baking soda would help get it clean and this is my first time watching the video
I used the baking soda on a mattress that had body stains because the person who had been sleeping in it let the covers and mattress cover slide off. I vacuumed it well and placed the baking soda all over with more on the worse soiled area. I let it sit week. When I vacuumed it off everything came off and the mattress smelled great. I did use my upholstery tool of my carpet cleaner and cleaned it anyway. But it really did an amazing job. Now I do just the baking soda every other month to keep my mattress refreshed and clean.
I take a level tea spoon of Baking Soda in half a glass of tepid water, first thing in the morning and last thing at night. This helps to provide the body with a good balance between acidic and alkaline in the gut which assists the body in preventing a multitude of potential ailments. I used to get a cold every year but haven't had one in the 5 years I've been using Baking Soda so highly recommend it to all.
Have used baking soda for 50+ years for teeth cleaning! Works wonders! Also use with water and white vinegar to wash my hair rather than chemically ladened shampoos & conditioners. Also, wonderous. Saves lots of money too. Also, use mixture to use face brush to wash/brush my face weeky to get dead skin off...makes skin sooo soft!! Also, money saving as well as saving my skin from harsh chemicals.
I remember this from the 50s. Sprinkle it on the bed, under the sheets.... Mom used to do that... Never asked why.... Also, 1/4 teaspoon in coffee grounds cuts the acidity in my morning brew!!!
Don't put vinegar on anything you want to get a stain out of. Vinegar sets color like when you dye Easter eggs or use clothing dye on fabrics. To get out stains, use cold water and very diluted blue Dawn dish soap, not warm or hot water. Room temperature water is fine too.
The basic ingredient of baking soda is trona which is mined in 5 mines in southwestern Wyoming. The mine employees never have hangovers because they inhale baking soda fumes continuously while at work. The mines are huge and about 400 feet deep and the temperature is always around 70 degrees even if there's a howling blizzard on the surface. Trona is also used to make glass so no one is allowed to plastic or aluminum containers on site. I know because I've been there. Pretty cool. There are other trona mines in the world - Russia and So. Africa but Wyoming is by far the biggest in the world.
Baking soda is a alkali, vinegar is a acid. Putting them together neutralizes the benefits. We should first apply or spray baking soda and after some time spray vinegar. The frothing reaction at the desired site will give better results.

Brenda Douglas baking soda is made out of soda ash. Soda is made out of trona. Trona capital of the world is green river Wyoming. Soda ash is shipped all over the world. It is use to make glass, all kinds of cleaning supplies. There are 5 trona plants, all use to be American owned. Now the are all foreign own. It also can cure mosquitoe bites. Just mix it with a little bit of water apply it on the bite and let the mixture sit there and don't scratch the skin.
Robert Holloway you can but it only cleans the upper part of the drain. I just put baking soda in by itself let it stand for a few hours then I will pour water down to clean out the drain and get rid of odors.
@Bob Bobbertson I think it's pretty mild. 5% vinegar diluted by water + baking soda every couple of months won't harm anything. Just loosens any gunk and rinsed away.
Use soda crystals (not the same as bicarb, but is a clear or white soft "salt") to soften hard water. It'll make your soap go further (washing up liquid, etc - a big help if you have to soak off burnt-on food from a baking tray or other cooking dish), and a scoop or so in with your laundry powder helps with the cleaning and helps delay the onset of limescale deposits. In the UK it costs somewhere around £1:10 per kilo, so it's top value. If you are in a hard water area, it'll save you a fair bit of money in the long run, even if it's on using less washing powders or liquids (a tablespoon of it will easily help a sink full of really dirty dishes). HTH
Don't forget to bi carb when you get heartburn, one heaping teaspoon dissolved in an eight ounce glass of water , stir thoroughly and drink down all at once.
I use baking soda to brush my teeth. I pour it into a pretty jar or covered container and leave the jar on my bathroom counter. I just dip a wet toothbrush into the jar and brush away.
You can also use it if you have a clogged drain. Empty out any standing water. I put in about half a box and then pour inabout half a cup of vinegar. I leave it for about half an hour to 45 mins then pour hot water down the drain. Repeat if necessary.
Best baking soda hack. Instead of buying cat box deodorizer, get a big box of baking soda and toss it around with essential oils in a giant ziploc bag. Keep a scoop in the bag. After cleaning the box then sprinkle a scoop of it over the litter. Its so inexpensive and easy.
Yeah Ms JL, it works great on stinky dogs too. I live on an acreage. My studpid German shep goes out and argues with skunks. Instead of using tomato juice as recommended, I cover his eyes and sprinkle Arm & Hammer carpet deodorizer on his face and neck. It's main ingredience is baking soda.
Since I was a little girl my mom had us brushing our teeth with baking soda and clean the house every Saturday with it now I'm much older now all I do is clean
I use it to whiten my teeth. if you mix it with a little bit of peroxide it works really great it Foams up, kills all the germs, whitens your teeth makes it easier to clean. I've used this method for more than 2 decades!
I love using baking soda. The only thing that I wonder about that's in this video is whether its true or not that using it dry is non-toxic when used on furniture and mattresses. I read somewhere that if used dry it was toxic, and would appreciate any feedback on this.
When working in a physically demanding environment with the necessity to wear closed shoes I had a problem with smelly feet. On the advice of one of my co-workers I tried putting just 1/4 tsp baking powder in my shoes and the effect was immediate and a pleasant surprise. No smelly feet.
Baking soda plus vinegar makes sodium acetate which is what gives salt and vinegar potato chips their salt and vinegar taste, it's also what butchers spray on cut meat so they keep their red appearance longer rather than darkening right away, it's what's in those hotpads where you press a metal disc inside the pad to cause it to heat up andrechargeby boiling the pad, it's also what they spray on planes to prevent icing. Keep in mind that household vinegar is 95% water and only 5% vinegar, if you go to a gardening store, you can purchase horticultural vinegar which is 20% vinegar. Basically, the chemicals themselves are cheap but once the companies brand the product and market it for a specific use, that's when it becomes expensive.

It's main ingredience is baking soda.
do it all the time
Ms JL used coffee groung works better in cat litter box
Jim Colet try mixing a couple of drops of dawn dish detergent. It helps it foam and makes them smell pretty.
Or just use Tidy Cat Clay Litter. I had a cat for years. no-one ever knew i had a cat until they saw her toys.
I already use baking soda on my bed. Works great!🤗

I poured Baking Soda on my bed. Nothing happened, so I laid down and made a baking soda angel.

"Pour baking soda on your bed and see, what happens!" Me: There will be baking soda on your bed. That will happen. Lol
Is this one of those pranks where you somehow get me to pour baking soda onto my bed?
Maybe. I tried this and I wound up hangin from the ceiling fan by my balls.
Wally Draigle no it really works. I have done it quite a few times
Spring and autumn cleaning.
Wally Draigle.
LOL I think you are supposed to vaccum the bed after using the baking soda.
It kills bedbugs and microscopic organisms. Also bug eggs. That’s why you wait and then vacuum dead bugs and skin. Gross
I’ve been using baking soda on my beds for years it if fantastic
A lot of things to do in baking soda..thanks a lot
Since I was a little girl my mom had us brushing our teeth with baking soda and clean the house every Saturday with it now I'm much older now all I do is clean
I use it to whiten my teeth. if you mix it with a little bit of peroxide it works really great it Foams up, kills all the germs, whitens your teeth makes it easier to clean. I've used this method for more than 2 decades!
Foaming doesn’t mean your teeth are being cleaned lol
I’m studying to be an orthodontist I know this stuff
Mar Mar But will they be whitened tho? lol
Destini Davis
Ppl say it will whiten teeth, but I have slightly coffee stained teeth and I tried it for 3 months and never lightened my teeth.
I love using baking soda. The only thing that I wonder about that's in this video is whether its true or not that using it dry is non-toxic when used on furniture and mattresses. I read somewhere that if used dry it was toxic, and would appreciate any feedback on this.
its not toxic at all.
GOOD! Thanks 4 sharing!
Informative, I'm going to try this on my sofa
I put baking soda on bed, and now bed ran away
Klokolina Probably was afraid of vacuuming haha
The bed is what?!! What kind of joke is this.. lol 😆😂
Klokolina you didn't use the right size package , you were supposed to use the 50 lb package! D:
