- Transformers One was supposed to be a fresh start for this franchise, with its animated format and stellar voice cast featuring Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Brian Tyree Henry, and Keegan-Michael Key. Despite being the most critically acclaimed film of the series, audiences did not show up to see this movie. So why did this happen?
In this video, I explore how the tarnished reputation of the Transformers brand, largely due to the inconsistent storytelling of the past films both with the Michael Bay films and Rise of the Beasts, the poor release dates and overall just inconsistent quality that has plagued the Transformers franchise.
I also dive into the poor release date of Transformers One and how this is not just a one off, but an unfortunate trend from Paramount Pictures. I discuss the marketing strategy as well, diving into where I think Paramount went wrong.

Transformers has had it ROUGH in the theaters, you can thank Michael Bay for that. Maybe Transformers just needs a break for a while until they can get attention again now that they essentially have to reboot that trainwreck of a universe

It came out while the 2nd Beetlejuice movie was still in theaters, and lots of families went to see that film instead of Transformers One. It didn’t help when the Wild Robot came out a week after TFOne and lots of families went to see that instead.
Plus there was an early week showing of it, so lots of people had already seen the movie and I know lots of people wouldn’t want to watch the same movie again after liking it.
I just blame the release date and that’s it.
I can see some wisdom in waiting several years. But man, TF One was so well done that I would love to see a complete trilogy (ending with the war for Cybertron) made by the same people.
Yeah I absolutely loved the work Josh and ILM did and would love for them to continue the story but if it doesn't hit a cult status or just do extremely well overseas as it continues to expand, unfortunately I don't see them continuing this

Saw it 3 times in theatre and I want more.
Its such a perfect movie to me. Made me laugh, feel, and tear up.
My 16 year old sister went with me and even she was amazed, teen girls being the last focus group of this movie.

The situation is so bad, it almost feels like sabbotage, man. Look up the boycot to the mexican dub, for example.

@@bend316 So, situation as explained in the Fire Brothers channel: influenced by the mexican drug cartels, Latin-America Paramount division hired 2 influencers, who were awful at voice acting, to play B-127 and D-16. Worse, the B-127 is suspected (and probably is) a pedophile. South American Transformers fans caught wind of this during the second trailer, whose voice were different than the first, and boycotted the movie.
So many issues around the distribution of this movie, sounds like sabbotage.

@@bend316 Yeah. That, the shitty marketing, the different countries getting different release dates, the digital release being almost at the same time it releases in those countries... It feels more like a coordinated effort to sink this movie more than a series of fuck-ups. But if it is, I can only say I suspect Lorenzo. Because, who else would want a movie that actually rejects Bayverse canon (unlike ROTB) to tank?

perhaps there was too much transformers film out there. For a normal people that were not really fans of TF and have seen the previous ones thought this was just another transformers movie.

These release dates are dumb af, still have to wait until Friday to watch it, over 3 weeks since it's US release date...

I remember seeing bumblebee in theaters with some others and we were the only ones there and it wasnt a small theater either never had that happen again
@@enixifi-h6v yeah I remember that too. It’s a real shame since not only was it good, but it was made for like 130 mil I think so it was economically well made and it just got so burned from the last knight
I think that TF one honestly flopped because ROTB was so mid. Travis Knight laid out a potential 10/10 movie franchise but paramount and Lorenzo ruined it and now we are paying the price. If I wasn't a transformers fan and ROTB was my first impression and being promoted as the best TF film yet i probably wouldnt watch the other movies either. They jumped right into this movie after ROTB and that probably didn't give people hope that this would be great. as fans tho all we can do is promote this gem ourselves and bring friends with us to see it. I alr got all of the 15 friends I had watch TF one, on board to binge watch the rest because of how good it was.

That's great that you're trying to spread the word. I think right now the best case scenario is it becomes a cult status and maybe can become a streaming darling if it ever gets on the right platform
ONE is not a good movie and the energon universe is just g1 and that's another oversaturated crap.

If it was G1, I will see animation errors in 5 seconds each scene and D-16 was made by Constructicon based on one episode of Transformers G1 Season 2 that involved the time travel, really makes people confused because G1 was a mess of continuity at least isn’t that bad as current transformers continuity, right?
