I saw it today and i must say, this film sure was able to achieve what the Michael Bay films failed to

The contrasting ascendancies to Optimus and Megatron was a beautiful scene. One rises, one falls then rises. One screams their name and one is proclaimed leader of Cybertron and is softly named Optimus Prime… wonderful scene
When this Transformers Timeline reaches Earth. I’ll like to see Megatron participate in the 2010 Copiapó Mining Incident, by helping the trapped Human Minors. To show that despite the centuries Megatron hasn’t forgotten we’re he came from, and that he’s willing to resonate with Humanity. 😇
He became a sociopath. He doesn't care about his past and will resent any robot who brings it up.
Without spoiling it, he shows this in the film.
PS The Megatron from eons later that we know has been evil for a very long time. He's similar to Palpatine from star Wars and will not help anyone unless it benefits him.

Sentinel Prime in this movie was essentially Homelander from The Boys, but with the mentality of Ted Faro from the Horizon games. 😜

Sure hope we get a sequel, this was easily the best transformer movie since the Original!
I have been a fan of this franchise ever since I watched tfp. I especially loved the entire backstory between optimus and megatron which was narrated by ratchet in s1e22 (ig). But I never understood why megatron fell into darkness. Though this isn't the aligned continuity, Megatron finally has a good backstory and a tangible reason for turning into the tyrant that he is known to be. That itself is this movie's biggest win. That and showing how the matrix was bestowed upon Orion, turning him into optimus.

D-16's fall to the dark side felt too fast too obvious
If I wrote this I would have written d16 as kinder more benevolent more peace loving than Orion where his core being laid in the trust in sentinel prime...trust in the system...trust in the good of his leaders.thus sentinels betrayal will shatter his soul thus making his descent all the more tragic
That’s not accurate, that part about the map, after they transformed for the first time, there was a guard left over that was about to shoot Op, D16 shot the guard that was what he was laughing about then took the map device from OP.
