So as not to damage gasket surfaces when cleaning and preparing surfaces, use a sharp wooden wedge as a scraper. This will not damage any mating surfaces.
Props for doin all this work n filming...i say reuse head bolts...new stuff is junk 👌mint vid bro i got this engine n need to replace all hoses o rings n clean out junk
beautiful rebuild video.
f22b2 or b5 non vtec variant of the F series engines. the bolts would have been effective to help line the head to the block with reinstall to prevent scraping the head on the dowel pins. i typically use the 4 outer bolts to drop into the block for help. cheers
Torqued to yield bolts are measured for reuse at dealerships
Great video! I need to replace the head gasket on my 96 Accord 2.2L and the video is going to save me a lot of guess work. Looks like it’s leaking behind cylinder 1 all the way to the drivers side.
I'm trying to do this on my daughter's car. How in the world do you get to the manifold bolts on the bottom? I can't barely see them, let alone get a wrench on them. Any help would be appreciated!
Same man, I’m gonna try an extension wrench
After removing the oil filter, the manifold bracket, and the wiring to the the connectors, I was able to get an open end wrench/ ratcheting end wrench on them and get them out. 😵💫
You talk too damn much. 🤔
what....
Bros gotta explain lmao
HONDA Motors are the best. This is why they feature in Formula One Racing and Indy Cars. Their engineering is second to none and while they do manufacture cars, they were first and foremost manufacturers of engines. HONDA motorbike engines of the mid to late 1970s and early 1980s are works of art. Some six cylinder engines with independent throttle bodies, sound like formùla 1 race motors and look amàzing.
Did you drain the oil before you started working on it?
Yes
Boss I really appreciate this video. Getting ready to resurrect my 96 Odyssey because the timing belt broke. I really appreciate your in depth explanation on torque specs and part numbers. If I have any questions I will try to reach out to you because my motor is a F22b6 as well.
Thank you so much for this video!! Still working to get those 4 bolts that connect the intake on the bottom side. Very hard to reach, any advice on that? I did remove the oil filter, looking to buy an extension wrench see if that works.
Hello just wonder why you didn't clean the pistons top?
I have a 2002 accord 4 cylinder with 279K miles on it. Is it worth getting the cylinder valve repaired?
IF the repair is cheaper than a used car of the same age, then yes.
Great job! Keep going! Get this Honda running.
When you are cleaning the block mating surface, how do you prevents the dirt n grime from falling into the nooks and crannies of the coolant block walls n stuff.
If I use my original head, will I still need to adjust my valves?
It’s always a good idea to adjust the valves after doing major engine work especially with the head. It’s super easy to do, takes 10 mins.
@@bundysgarage you do valve adjustment with engine warm right?
@@GradyJarrell no, cold
Stone cold
i wanna know if that magnet really stood on with how hot the motor gets
How did you tighten the nuts on the intake manifold?
Nice 👍
im lost when it comes to putting the belt back on
Is it automatic or manual
You do great videos
Nice job bro ,
