I tried doing this and realized that I was missing one of these bolts and come to find out it has broke off so do you know how to remove the broken bolt to replace this cylinder head
Don't try pulling the head off in one fell swoop. There's studs on the intake side too. Remove the intake manifold bracket bolt from underneath so you can slide the intake manifold back and clear the studs. If you can find some M8-1.25 x 30mm JIS (12mm head) 10.9 flange bolts, you can use those instead as long as you use them with two star washers and one regular washer as shown below: [M8-1.25 x 30mm JIS bolt] --> [star washer] --> [regular washer] --> [star washer] --> [intake or exhaust manifold] 21 Ft-Lbs. on the intake and exhaust side. Don't over-torque, and don't do this without all three washers or the bolts will bottom out in the head before clamping anything. A little loc-tite on the threads probably wouldn't hurt either.

Great Video, seeing you go through all that trouble, makes it clear how hard the head is to be removed with the intake intack, would not want to have to do that reinstall, sence the timing belt and water pump will come into play, I'd probably just pull the engine and do all the work the engine will probably need on a engine stand
Thanks for the video. I’m in the process removing the cylinder head also to perform piston re-ring. #2 has excessive blow by and low compression. Next time remove the exhaust manifold completely, and remove bolts that hold intake manifold, so that intake can be left in place except for those bolts that support the intake to the block. Yes these bolts are hard to get to. Also this would be a good time to change those o-rings under the rocker arm assembly. Then too, you will probably half to take tension off of timing belt before you can install it again. Might even be time to replace the belt or belt's now that it's apart. Getting the harmonic balancer bolt out, is a chore too. Good luck!

15:15 Those are 12-point head bolts. Use a 12-point socket. And using a 9/16" instead of the 14mm was pretty careless if you ask me. 9/16" is slightly larger than 14mm, and they put 12-point bolts in there for a reason... Good luck not rounding those bolt heads.
I got them out. I wasn't planning on reusing the same head bolts. I also ordered the proper socket after the video for reassembly. But this is good information! Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah. Wasn't running when I bought it. Had been sitting for a while.
I mean... it's an old ass car, with an engine that's nothing special... of course it has been neglected and it's not really a big shame. It's a fairly standard use and abuse daily grocery getter.
@@Ubernaught012 Im not saying you’re one of
These types. I clearly dont know you….
But that ,..is the Typical culture of American/lazy human wastefulness. Some people take care of their things and dont treat everything that is somewhat older as a “throw-away” or something to Beat on….
Im Not perfect at all, nobody is…..but I have a 2003 Accord and I enjoy spending meticulous time keeping her fresh. Shes not my only car but she has served me well.
How you do one thing is usually how you do everything. if you neglect and trash your car then you probably trash your body and trash your mind with substances and treat people like trash, and are a litter bug and treat the planet/environment like shit , never recycled a day in your life etc, the list goes on
It’s about having Pride in yourself and your things, which echoes into having pride in all areas of your life. Its that Self-Love
EVERYONE IS MESSY. lets face it, Humans are Disgusting. Most of us are walking around all day with AN UNCLEAN ASS because they dont shower or clean themselves Daily lol…and have you seen those peoples cars? They usually are busted down, have french fries in the seats and stains and are a Putrid mess…
Its all related
Im not mad, im just soapboxing it lol
Peace dogg ✌🏼

It had been sitting for a while with a blown head gasket when I bought it. Got it really cheap. In the end, it was running, cleaned up, and sold.

Hey jack black wannabe I can’t seem to find any videos you have done to help people out.

should of worn gloves.. i can see rat droppings everywhere, if you see snail shells you might have a rat problem.
The car had been sitting for a while before I bought it. The previous owner didn't want to fix it. It's getting a deep cleaning before I start to drive it. All the wiring seems to be ok thankfully. 👍
Nice! Good work sir!
