I love this and used to have it cut similar over many years, and it really suits me. Over the last two years, I’ve been asking for a layered cut with softening around the face (like this) and, although I always go to top salons, I always come out with a Bob which doesn’t necessarily suit me. I hate bobs (on me), I am sick of them!I. It just seems as if many hairdressers today work from a very limited style menu… pixies, various bobs, or long locks, and think that you shouldn’t have a style unless it’s ‘the latest trend’. I’ve even had a battle on many occasions to get a fringe (informal/soft rather than blunt). I need to find a Paul Watts locally.

This a shag from the 70s but only a few hairstylist know how to do them because people stopped asking for them but now they are coming back. Same with curtain bangs.
I has the same issue, funnily enough, I always asked for layered hair but because my hair is so thick it would come out as a shag mullet but not soft, like a bowl cut on the top. Had this happen three times in a row and decided to just start hacking away at my own hair instead... Ironically, the first time I did this I gave myself a perfect accidental shag mullet, but soft and beautifully textured (impulsivity is my best friend). I now cut my hair myself and haven't been to a hair salon in over two years! I always give myself a shag mullet as it suits me a lot and I never have to style it whatsoever (thick hair, natural volume). Sometimes I accidentally chuck in a half fringe too >.< It's always so much fun and I'm loving all the recent variations of it since shag mullets became popular again.
... I'm slowly starting to think about using a buzz cutter to shave the sides too O_O

Would love to see some easy pixie cuts with long and micro fringe. Looks like pixies are going to be the up coming 2022 winter trend and would love to get a head start. I really enjoy your videos because you show us how to cut trendy cuts in such an easy way, it's fun to watch fancy techniques but I need to make things as easy as possible in the salon for myself. I have to be fast but give great cuts to my clients and your videos really help. Thank you for great and easy techniques!
