I know this is older video, but thought I would leave this info as to why sharpie bled. The scotch guard probably has alcohol of some sort which will make sharpie bleed. I would try to use paint for letters or try using textile medium on canvas and or over top of sharpie before you spray. This was a great video and answered the exact questions I had. Thank you!
I was wondering do you pretreat the canvas first at all ? If so what do you use ? Perfect choice of images btw ! I have a Van's T with the rose motifs bought it a few months back !!! I've been dying to try this for years, never got around to it ..the expense of materials...
Very pretty. I am just wondering if one should apply some type of sealer so as to preserve the artwork and have a water-resistant finish? If you know of any products for that purpose, please share! Thank you.
Use a black laundry pen to outline or a black fabric pen. They won't smear. Sharpie makes laundry pens. Marvy and Uchida are other good fabric markers. You can find them at Michaels or Joann's. Otherwise the Sharpie you are using will mess up your beautiful work. The sharpie you use is meant for fabric. ⚘
I love the roses ! Beautiful work ! Making a color image black and white, I thought it was just me ! It is a really great tip !
