Man, I love how much I've learned from your videos. I'm not a huge sneaker head, but I have a 14 yr old black son who is and loves seeing other black men doing cool things. I love seeing his eyes open to other careers and hobbies outside of sports. We're ordering our first paint set from Angelus soon and looking for some shoes to practice on. Those air force 1's are pretty steep to practice on haha. We'll eventually have to order a custom pair of shoes or two from you as well. We love the work. Keep it up my man! Definitely earned all the success and business.

Question, how come you chose to use Angelus paint (known to be used for leather and vinyl) instead of a fabric paint like Jacquard (which I believe is generally used for denim and cottons)? I've only had experience painting on denim so far and that is why I am wondering about the choice in paint. Also because I am about to buy a white eyelet cotton sneaker that I want another color lol

Don’t know if you’ll see this! I just painted my first pair of canvas shoes. The tongue of the shoe had awful bleed through. They were inexpensive canvas shoes with a thin canvas tongue, anything I can do to help with the bleed through!!! I was using light coats it’s just that the tongue sucked it up like a washrag
Try a 1:1 mix of neutral and fabric medium first

Can you use this same technique to go from a darker color to a lighter color on a fabric shoe? Or do you have another video that talks about that? Or maybe that’s just a bad idea and I shouldn’t try it? Truth is I have some shoes I was going to sell at my garage sale, so I might attempt it either way, but I’d like to not ruin them just in case I can maybe turn them into something useable again! Do I have to spray something onto the shoe or paint something over after I painted to keep the shoe clean if it rains on it?
I spray a few light coats of matte acrylic spray.

Why are you using leather paint on canvas? Surely fabric paint would work?
All the customizers I’ve watched use that same paint. Maybe it’s more durable? I’m not sure of the exact reason.
