Post Malone looks like a guy I would hate, but I've been following him for a couple years now and he is one of the kindest, most down to earth artists out there. I LOVE him!
I feel like much of that may be due to changing norms around tattoos. In the past, it was really only the tough outcast who would have tattoos everywhere, but nowadays you are just as likely to find a really down to earth guy have them.

As for the bodyguards, that's not being rude, that's just protecting yourself. There is more to hip hop than street life, in many cases it spans into Tyler the creators psychedelic beats on Igor all the way to Aesop rocks vivid story telling. He streams on Twitch, does a podcast with H3H3, stays active with fans, and he loves The Devil Wears Prada(automatic win in my book). He's also into some really heavy shit like Infant Annihilator. I'm not a fan of his music but he's taking a huge variety of inspirations and fusing them with hip-hop and I can respect that.

My teenager listens to Post and I never liked it (im a rock guy) until I heard his rock/blues covers and wow...I was blown away. He can play guitar and has a fantastic voice for rock and blues. If he ever decides to cross over with his own rock material I have no doubt it will be huge and he will have a receptive audience.

i agree. the problem i think is when say a white artist is overly promoted and embraced for doing the same thing minority artists were already doing (being inspired by them). in the case off rap i don´t think this necessarily aplies thou. also i dont think its the person whos inspired by other cultures who are in the wrong , but how societys react to it (we do live in a society)

My teenager listens to Post and I never liked it (im a rock guy) until I heard his rock/blues covers and wow...I was blown away. He can play guitar and has a fantastic voice for rock and blues. If he ever decides to cross over with his own rock material I have no doubt it will be huge and he will have a receptive audience.
