Today I'm gonna take you on a little nostalgia trip with me. When I was in high school, my friends and I would go to Night Storm dances in Fargo, North Dakota. Night Storm was a traveling teen dance party, and I have a lot of very fond memories of it. But I also have some beef with the organizers.
Take a trip with me into my 15 year old mind.

So early i dont even know what the video is about.
I love the new video quality
Why do you look like Dcdawg
I had just had my 2nd child in 2011.....ur not old 😂
he really went to the hotel just to show us where everything was. commitment.
He’s the true CO2 phat blaster we need but we don’t deserve.
Right haha lol
to be fair, he’s in north dakota, both the hotel and the stadium are probably down the street from him
And my man shaved his leg for his sponsorship! Commitment on point!
TheRadioGirl
He’s in North Dakota. What else does he have to do?
Imagine losing your Oakley sunglasses at a an event that didn't even have confetti
The shame.
This made me sad
😔
Tragic. Tho this is north Dakota... They have more cows than humans. Act more stop signs than humans .....
Whilst everyone was there, I was busy trying get a Runescape girlfriend

You said whilst.
did you get one

@@nickkuzas4981 oh no :,)
If you’re wondering why Scott made this video... he clearly found out that it’s coming back and you can get in for $15 instead of $30 if you make a UA-cam video about Nightstorm.
They upped the max age to [insert Scott’s age]
Carrying on his classic strategy of pure economic responsibility.
It’s WHAT? Gimme link. Now
Because he's financially responsible!
Scott: steals a pair of Oakley sunglasses
*because he's economically responsible*
we love an economically responsive teen
He didn’t steal.... He just borrowed them without asking. And without giving them back.... for about 5 years....
Scott the woz or Scott Carmer.
@@CCFoxxen Cramer stole from Woz
Rose Kennedy hello

*ggs north dakota*
so did Minneapolis. North Dakota trash as usual
😔
Scott Cramer I mean that out of love as a Minnesotan for my North Dakota cousins don’t worry
Gg where in Milwaukee are you from ?
They had these things here!? Jeez I was more introverted than I thought.
when i was in middle school we used to have “all district dances” where literally every middle school in the district would go to one school for something like this. back then it was the best night of the year but looking back it was absolute insanity. just hundreds of 14 year olds doing a grind train to the clean version of bed rock????? a fever dream honestly
some of us poor saps never even got invited to the grind trains😔
Why’d you have to remind me of grind trains?? Ahhhhh I’m gonna go pour bleach right into my brain now.
^lmaoooo
We have that for highschool here haha
Grocery bag
CO2 phat blast sounds like what my body does during a disagreement over something i ate
This comment is a masterpiece
Lmao I agree
Just cackled and spit my drink out on my mum my mistake. Good one
I WHEEZED
Omg. Do they mean whip its? 😂
I don’t trust anyone who DOESN’T turn up to Dynamite by Taio Cruz
Christy Chang lolll
just thinking about the song gets me turned
That song was my childhood tbh
i was just thinking the same thing bro
god, i remember when that song came out... my whole elementary school was obsessed with it... people would sing it in the halls... the choir performed a cover of it, even. wild.
Whoever lost a pair of Oakley glasses outside an arena in Fargo in 2011 watching this: 👁👄👁
You’re telling me the entire population of North Dakota went to this thing?
All 1250 of them yup
It’s almost like Scott recorded stuff when he was younger because he knew he would have a UA-cam channel to share it on
Me, Someone who's never been to a teen dance party has no idea what the answer to the title is.
LMAO LAMBO HOW DID I FIND YOU HERE
Seen you quite a bet recently Jupiin. Same with Regian. I'm a UA-cam commenter now.
nice
Matt why are you impersonating me?
Imagine trying to fall asleep in that hotel while the building shakes from the music and 500 hormonal teens are all having seizures from the strobe lights
I forgot the absurdity of the 2000’s. RIP snap backs, oversized shirts, and and suspicious blue liquids that came in cheap plastic pouches
He legit said 2011, not 2000s
Duck Meat I was about to say... the song snapbacks and tattoos came out in like 2012
daVincian Diversity are SnapBacks not cool anymore? I must’ve missed that memo.
im currently wearing a snapback
I thought snapbacks were an early 2010s thing because of rap fashion between 2011-2016
For a second I was like “wait after highschool won’t you be 18 so can’t you drink??” And then I realised it was America
Scott: uses filter to look younger
Also Scott: looks the same
Only difference was his beard 😂
Honestly, there's something about some types of faces. I have one of those that basically looks the same throughout the years. So looking back at old photos is fun, but so real change in my face to look at :/
With the world of UA-camrs who move to Silicon valley, I really appreciate the fact that Scott Cramer is telling us stories from living in North Dakota.
I think that dance parties could be a cool novelty to the teens nowadays for the 'aesthetic' and experience, I could see people joining with their disposable film cameras and funky outfits. It could genuinely work if its sporadically sprinkled throughout the year with the guise of it being super exclusive or something.
Tik tok dance nights would bop, amirite fellow kids
You could have aesthetic photo booths all over and the themes could be vsco, 70’s, midsummer 😂
@@myplaylists6310 Midsommer?!? Finally I can wear my bear costume!
Ted Smart I hate that I get that joke 😭😂💀
My school used to put on a swing dance in December, not a lot of students went, it was kinda niche (the people who just went to dances to grind wouldn’t come, which was better for the rest of us) but those of us who went absolutely loved it! The 2 days before there was a nice couple who came in after school and teach swing dance lessons in the orchestra room, at the dance they had a live jazz band playing just like 50s-60s like oldies classics and we all just swing danced like it was the 60s! It was always so fun and we should absolutely bring back like you see in old movies where teens would just go to like the diner every weekend and dance because that shit is the best

There was a ceramic goose at homecoming and we threw it around and raved around it chanting goose 😌
That makes me so happy to hear. You guys are the kind of kids I would have wanted to hang out with at a dance. Ha ha.
Alicia I’m glad :) this was during my freshman year of highschool and now we’re all stuck in quarantine. My school is pretty “everyone gets involved” so the majority of kids are nice
CO2 phat blasts definitely sounds like premium content.
We had a permanent teen nightclub in Seattle and I was never allowed to go, but a rumor spread that 22 year old guys would go there and take teen girls home 🤢
We had something semi permanent in a nearby city. It was a country bar called Incahoots that had line dancing throughout the week/weekend but on Sunday nights they turned it into a teen club.
We felt SO cool going 😂
That's awful where is that place at exactly?
Only today was I saying "where is Scott? I'm struggling here" happy to see you back!!

He got married and maybe moved
Sir I sadly couldn’t be your 200th like but I’m you 201 like so yeah......

I have social anxiety and this party looks like literal hell for me

You gonna slap him with some legal
This video has the same energy as Eddy Burback talking about how the party that the DARE program promised them was way lamer than they made it seem. rip to our Midwest boys who just wanted to have some fun
As a fellow midwestern boy, there is no fun here
The bass blowing out the mic, the dark black light videos, the unrecognizable blown out music... really took me back to my high school rave days. Thanks. Really.
I always forget how young Scott is. He was a child in 2011. I graduated high school in 2009. I'm old as shit lol
Same here. I keep thinking I'm not that old, but then Scott does a video like this and I remember I'm almost 30. Lol.
Bro I had my kid in 2011
2008 grad, had my kid in 2011, too. 😅
Yep I graduated in 2010 lmao
Are you saying he has an old face?
3:25 The backwards cap, the bead necklace. What a blast to (my) past.
This is painfully relatable. Does literally everyone who grows up in a tiny midwestern town spend their adolescence attending “teen dance parties”? In retrospect I also agree that they really didn’t think things through regarding the age range. My parents weren’t thrilled the one time when I was 15 and I came home from a “teen dance club” with a 19 year old’s phone number.
I would be really concerned to😓
Yes I remember going to these parties too haha
I invited a 29 year old guy I met at an all ages club over to my house when I was 15. I'm not sure why, but my mom hardly batted an eye.
:/ yikes
The low ceiling would've given me instant claustrophobia
Scott’s the most underrated youtuber
Well he's definitely underrated but there might be such an underrated UA-camr that we don't even know about them so it's debatable
Agreed
Or anthpo
He's talking about how the kids killed Nightstorm, but totally ignored how video killed the radio star.

Imagine having a social life.

@@MimicoSound I'm gonna be 30, and my mind is still blown when people talk about having multiple friends who they see regularly.
Indiana had something similar 😂 there was this old restaurant that they converted into a “club” and I was lowkey really dangerous because there was very little security and it was all ages. I remember there was a actual child there?? Maybe 7?? Anyways, this video made my day I had no idea this was such a midwest thing
Obligatory ‘Scott Cramer is criminally underrated’ comment because how does he not have the millions of subscribers he deserves already
Oh what the hell, just looked at his sub count that's an actual travesty that he's so underrated
I just discovered him!!
Did you forget he uploads like once a month
He’s the North Dakotan PewDiePie (well, minus gaming)
Sheesh this gave me flashbacks to 2008 I was a teen going to a club designed for adults... But they had teen nights on fridays...and the reality is it was a bunch of kids grinding to nelly furtado. What a mess I am glad I was apart of.
bro I just wish Pitbull and neon colored everything would make a comeback :(
I could do without pitbull lol
scene/2000s has coming back recently. maybe it’s next lol
Please. No. I can't handle that.
Pitbull is doing those Boost Mobile ads these days.
Pitbull was the worst to me 💀
The 'beams' are called truss. Lol
Most venues charge extra when people use confetti cannons. Confetti gets everywhere and the venue is left to clean it up. At some of the venues I've worked there were pieces of confetti stuck in the HVAC in the ceiling from years ago. Same thing with the road cases we kept equipment in.
As for the "Phat CO2" and bubbles, there's no way a carpeted hotel ballroom would allow bubbles, and there were too many people and too low of ceilings to shoot off cryo jets.
f̶u̶n̶ fact
Hmm...why did an unsupervised, seizure inducing, dance party, full of hormone fueled kids, ranging in age from 8th grade, to JUNIORS IN COLLEGE, suddenly come to end?!?! I guess we'll never. 🤷

I've never heard Americans talk about teen discos, very glad to hear this is a more universal experience than I thought
Australian? or British?
@@scentsiclestylings4443 why would he be either of those?
LLS Savage the term ‘teen disco’ is usually what these teen dances are called in the UK or Australia so, that’s why they asked lol
Well I’m Irish, if that’s what you’re asking. Teen discos is the only term I could think of to describe underage club nights from 12-16 years old
In Ireland we call them socials since discos sounds cheesy tbh. I’m from Dublin so I used to go to ones held in proper nightclubs but most of other ones around the country side are held in halls. It’s mostly just drunk teenagers making out with eachother Idk how many of my friends got sick or got cold sores after one
“We were teaching ‘em how to Dougie and crankin’ that Souljah Boy” HELL YEA BROTHER
I mean, in defense of the Zoomers, pop music isn't really as "dancy" as it used to be. It's not exactly easy to go hard to a Lorde song, y'know?
This comment makes zero sense. Lorde isn't even close to being the biggest name in pop music and if you spend 30 seconds on TikTok, you'll see how much GenZ dances.
Greg Van Holsbeck Yeah but even major pop stars don’t really make a lot of dance tracks even major pop stars like Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Katy Perry aka pop stars you would think make a good dance track aren’t making them anymore because that’s not the stage where pop music is at...its amazing how much pop music has changed from 2010-2020
WATCH ME I will go hard to a Lorde song
@@solveigg Same.
Greg Van Holsbeck Felt that. Regarding tiktok dancing, you gotta remember that it's designed to stay in view on a vertical screen. A lot of the most popular tiktok dances involve barely moving so you don't leave camera view, and it does cut out variety somewhat. No one's going to be super floored by you using tik tok dancing as an example _at first glance._
Because, that said... It is the PERFECT storm for a high school dance. Getting the next generation into the habit of dance styles that by their nature don't take up a lot of space just so happens to free up the dance floor a lot!
The late 2010s' pop music definitely don't produce like... rave music, club music, or anything like that. And it's a shame ngl. Most tiktok dances are to very chill songs like Roses or Don't Rush (which I'm a huge fan of) but remember it's definitely not what these commenters are looking for when they want dance music.
To be honest, this is the best manscaped ad ever. Everybody usually only describes what it does but Dude, you shaved a whole leg, no cuts, no nicks, no misses. Holy shit. You make me want to buy it to shave my damn legs! As girl I do it bc I like shaved legs, but I hate doing it LOL
"Are you freaking kidding me dude, let's go!" gets me every time.
You think these are weird??
Check out Irish discos, the fake tan will be orange enough to burn your eyes out
Fake tans never look good. I'm an Irish American and my pale skin would just look... Ugh. I dyed my hair black once and instead of it looking good, I just looked like I was dead.
Bro I’m from Nebraska and we had nightstorm as well lol. Even as a kid I was skeptical as to why adults were throwing “dance parties” for like 13 year olds lol
I can't even begin to imagine the outcome from little 12 year old boys asking their moms to get them manscaped products
Liking for Scott becoming economically responsible
I've heard the manscaped ad so many times coming from Either Klein, but something about Scott giving the ad is way too funny. I seriously about choked laughing when he says, "You're balls. You're balls will thank you." Haha
Thank you Scott for the noise warning not enough people do that
My god, what a delightfully nostalgic video. As a 23 year old it's always fun to look back at how cringey we were, but how cool we felt at the time and how if we could go back we'd do it the same damn way. Some mixture of innocence, rebelliousness and horniness that's impossible to replicate or relive at 23, or anything past like 18.
Enjoy your youth, kids! Life will slow down soon! And if you're not sure how to make a moment LIT, it never hurts to Pop Lock and Drop it like it's hot
I love that you looked up the ballroom capacity, did a location shot and an impromptu interview for this. Our boi puttin' in the work!

I remember those days. My small town had dance parties for middle school kids at the local rec center. Idk how the teens in Skins were going to raves
we had a spring dance at our high school where our principal hyped up to be the most epic party yet and the teachers have done so much work with his
i go on to see , the dance is in the hall with just colorful spotlights and someone there to construct on what music to play
THAT'S IT
Man this brought me back to my 2013-2015 run of odd local teen dances where I would grab my coolest flat brim snapback, teal adidas hightops, and my best abercrombie/american eagle graphic tee to go wild(standing on the outside of those dougie/catdaddy circles) to some pitbull and lil john. The awkwardness and the cringe moments just had that charm when you look back though. This video kind of describes exactly how I felt about those memories. Priceless
YESS DUDE you unlocked a memory I DIDNT remember I had😂 I never went to any of these parties but they had a bad/trashy reputation in the Fort Worth, Texas, area. The club owners would basically pimp out minors in high school that were known to be partiers and get them to be “promoters”... kind of weird looking back at it.
Oh that’s creepy AF

The teen dance parties aged with their clientele and became traveling college raves circa 2013-2018
It’s so weird that you had those parties because I’m from Spain and we had like.. really similar ones in like 2009. They were amazing, we would dress up and go there at like 5 pm and he home by 11, and have the best night ever. What amazes me it’s that we also had the spotlight nights and all of that! You were speaking to my 13 year old self lol

Hey, teen dance parties aren't dead.
How do I know?
My best friend misguidedly took us to one a few months ago.
Based on your timeline I'd say we're about the same age as you, so you can imagine how fantastic of a time we had.
I escaped the hall, met some equally perplexed and equally ancient Swedish tourists, and we went to grab drinks with them instead.
Read the fine print, people. Nowadays it'll only say party. The teen thing must be asterisked in the footnote.
ahhh the days when we could be crowded at a party together without worry of catching a deadly virus
I'm pretty sure people were still worried
gib kluge well yeah, for some basic things to be worried about but not to catch a deadly virus lol
i wouldve been worried about sex trafficking or like sexual assault or kids drugging eachother irresponsibly but to each their own
Being close to someone else at a party already feels like a totally crazy concept lol
Damn virus
Anyone else been watching Scott Cramer videos from like 2 years ago on their TV and stumble on this video and the quality difference made you shit yourself?
He has returned from committing multiple war crimes along the Ho Chi Minh trail
Just sprinkle in some x and have a blast at night storm. I was teen living in Vegas so every weekend was some cheap tickets to indie bands, jazzy cafes, art festivals, and rock climbing.
Scott: we’ll just hang out in...
My mind: the void
Scott: the kitchen!
Me: oh...
Oh gosh I got married in 2010. I felt so old this whole video.
Also this teen club seems like a place where creeps could hang out
A great distraction from the dumpster fire that is the rest of my subscription box 😂 gonna send to everyone! Lol
I, too, still listen to FM radio and get excited when Dynamite by Taio Cruz comes on 👵🏼 and I def remember we had a “club” for teens that always posted photos of the parties I never went to
I can’t believe something like Night Storm shut down. That seems like it would’ve been so much fun! I mean shit, people like myself who like raves and EDM festivals have to be at least 18 to get in. So something like Night Storm would’ve been lit and damn I feel like it should’ve still had a big monopoly on places like North Dakota and the rest of the Midwest teenagers. Maybe they just got to switch up the music or something.
Honestly it was a huge liability and I'm not surprised they aren't happening anymore. I went to like 4 of them in Minneapolis/Saint Paul and every time, the venue was trashed and the dance party was not invited back. Plus, it was basically a giant teenage make-out (and occasionally other stuff) party. Not a great look to have, definitely not a company I would like to be the face of.
It was also taking place during the Jersey Shore years, the height of club music's popularity and "clubbing" culture in general. I don't know if today's pop music is as well-suited to an event like this, and EDM/rave only really attracts so many people. This music and culture was super mainstream when these events were going on but its really not anymore so I'm not surprised that they aren't happening from that standpoint.
Raves are kinda gay
@@RealisticTimberwolvesFan feels like nothing is mainstream nowadays cause of everything going on. All of the fakes lost energy and the real have nothing to do
Well it was meant for teens, and now on days even our school dances are boring. No one goes to them anymore unless you just tell your parents your going to just ditch the night with your girl/boyfriend or besties. Dancing is awkward. Parties just aren’t as fun
@@yourmotherssecret You should've seen the underground EDM parties that were thrown, at least in California. So fucking lit.
Why was that radio ad spot on.😂 Brings back memories or riding the bus to school.
When you said you found some sunglasses I was like "oh, he's going to go back to the venue and return them". And then when you said you brought them home I was like "Oh, he's going to look up the event on Facebook to see if someone is missing these". And then when you looked up the price I was like "wow, this guy must have been so happy when Scott returned them". And then you just took 'em, lol. I'm a natural born simp what can I say?
The strobe lights are kinda a good strategy because not only can you barely make out other people, you are literally trying to balance like you won’t do anything more then grind, you can’t see anyone
15:59 *UA-camr Scott Cramer Goes on a rant about teens these days*
This just reminded me of this thing they used to have in Cibolo, TX called CCD (Community Center Dance) where kids aged like 11-17 would go to this small community center for like $10 on the first Friday of every month and have a dance party. They had cool lights and a DJ, with a concession stand where you could get pizza or some snacks or soda. I have some fond memories from those times because it was the same era as yours with party rock anthem to Wobble to boot scoot and boogie (always gotta have the line dances). It was a good time in my life.
I cannot express how much i enjoyed this video. Im gen z, and we used to have school discos which aren’t a thing anymore either. quality content thanks scott 🤙🏻
How Night Storm ended reminds me of that Sabaton song Shiroyama
