One thing that I found really interesting lately: the whole '1 million worlds' thing seems amazingly huge at first glance. However, there are about 100,000 million stars in the galaxy. So, as a number of the latest Necron books have pointed out, the Imperium is actually incredibly thinly spread. Even though the Imperium is galaxy-wide, it by no means occupies the whole galaxy, not even close
Take a look at human civilization on Earth, there are 8 billion of us scattered all over the surface of the planet in hundreds of thousands settlements, yet it's just a tiny portion of the the whole world. Is this planet our dominion or not?
I think it probably has something to do with the fact that, when 40k came out, our understanding of the universe was very different than it is today. I was taught as recently as 20ish years ago that planets were rare compared to stars
I think that’s another place in the life where the “add a zero or two” comes into play. The scale of the 40k universe has always seemed way out of wack. The casualties of the War of the Beast and sometimes titan/knight size are all too small to seem proportional to the lore. It seems more likely that the imperium may control 10 or 100 million worlds. The fact of warp fuckery on the reliability of information also could explain this issue.
I'm never more excited for an upload then when I see one of yours. Mainly because I get so much mileage out of these videos, while I'm working, when I'm in the car, when I'm going to sleep. Thank you truly for making this content.

Infinite and the Divine was also my full introduction to them. I heard the name and thought it referred to something else. I had no idea that there were dinosaur riding elves in 40k. Why, for the sake of the Golden Throne, the Skull Throne, the Greater Good, et all have GW been holding out on us?
17:25 - The Grey Knight known as Alaric survived capture on a Khorne demon world and returned with his sanity mostly intact. It's the final book of the Grey Knights trilogy.
I read Hammer of Daemons when I was a kid (had no idea it was part of a trilogy) and then could never find it again, thank you for giving me the name of the series!
I feel a major contributor to that was the fact that it was probably the safest option for a GK. Killing things methodically has always been the name of the game for them. You know the more i listen to the description of demon worlds the more i realize that the Tyranids as horrific as they are might just be a solution to the Daemon problem. As they are the only creatures that can just CRUSH the warp when they show up
it a well known theory that the tyranids where created by the old ones to deal with the chaos problem. The shadow in the warp is the most powerful weapon against the powers of chaos rendering the nids practically invisible to chaos, and the animalistic tendencies are unable to be corrupted by chaos. If they weren’t specifically designed to deal with chaos they certainly are a perfect enemy

Hey Leutin, just wanted to thank you for your awesome content. My mom recently died and your videos have been keeping me distracted and extremely entertained when I need to think about something else.
Daemon worlds are definitely my favorite kind of worlds in 40k. They're both horrifically bleak and also great settings for novels. An entire planet where logic and physical law doesn't matter, ruled over by the whims of utterly malevolent and unknowable gods, and about the only hope of escape being recruitment into a chaos astartes legion. But no matter what, alive or dead their souls are hopelessly, and eternally damned to be the metaphoric (and sometimes literal) fleshlights of daemons.
Great stuff! While I know the volume of content is more sparse than with the Imperium, I really enjoy your Xenos videos too. Also this sci-fi outro track at 58:56 always drops hard. Love it.

Savour your victory here; it will be cold comfort when your time comes."
Would love for you to make a video on current 40k events like the return of Guilliman, the "awakening" of the Emperor , the great rift, the Plague wars etc I really enjoyed the Octarius war videos so I thought this might be a good idea.
I'm going to take note that given your descriptions of both life for the average person in the imperium and life on a demon world. They do not seem all that much different, just different masters. In fact life on a demon world might even offer a chance at having some fun or getting some form of enjoyment out of life.
I feel like in the vast number of planets there have to be some that have kinda slipped off the radar. Things still get sent there, people assume stuff is sent back but it's just too much paperwork to check
I really like the take on Exodites. The idea of the World Spirit is new to me but makes a lot of sense. What interests me the most though are the various minor Xenos civilizations, the ones confined to relatively small areas of the galaxy. The Big Factions as I like to think of them (Imperium, Chaos, Eldari Sects, Tyrannid, Ork, Necron, Tau) may outclass them in terms of numbers, powers, influence, etc. but the charm of these smaller factions is undeniable to me. I think their experience would be similar to what ours might be like if tomorrow we discovered that the Galaxy is in a state of total war between at least seven superpowers. Something about the clash between blissful ignorance and the monstrous reality is so ingenious. It is like a child discovering for the first time that the world can be a mean place. Honestly, I'd love a series or just a video from Luetin going over some of these smaller civilizations, whatever their end result may be (Exterminatus, fleeing their homeworld, embracing Chaos, etc.).
_[Scene: an Inquisitor has paused "cleansing" a Penitent who has escaped from a Daemon World, and is ready to begin interrogating him.]_ *Inquisitor:* "Now. The time has come for you to confess your crimes, both against your fellow man and against our Holy Emperor." *Penitent:* "I don't understand. What is a crime?" *Inquisitor:* "A crime is the commission of an act which is against the Law." *Penitent:* "Um...what is law?" *Inquisitor:* "Law is a code of behavior dictated by a person in authority, namely our Holy Emperor or one of his devout servants, which all men are expected to abide by." *Penitent:* "I...still don't understand. What is authority?" *Inquisitor:* "Authority is the means by which one man is granted the right to rule over other men." *Penitent:* "Oh. Do you mean like the armies of hellhounds granted to my former overlord to extend his power across the surface of my homeworld?" *Inquisitor:* _[taken aback]_ "No, authority is nothing like that at all. Our Holy Emperor's authority does not derive from the might of his armies, but from his Holy grace." *Penitent:* "...but...the Emperor's armies slay any who disobey him, just like the overlord's hellhounds do. How is authority different from might?" *Inquisitor:* "...I can see now that you are too lost to be saved." _[unsheaths his blade]_
Huh. It just dawned on me that it's perfectly possible, lore wise, that the "Chaos Androids" were actual Necron Warriors. Either ones that were malfunctioning or those that had managed to claw their way back to some sembelance of free-will.

Genuinly more excited when I see an upload from you than I am any other YT channel.
The only channel that makes me grateful those bell notifications are a thing.
_[Scene: an Inquisitor has paused "cleansing" a Penitent who has escaped from a Daemon World, and is ready to begin interrogating him.]_
*Inquisitor:* "Now. The time has come for you to confess your crimes, both against your fellow man and against our Holy Emperor."
*Penitent:* "I don't understand. What is a crime?"
*Inquisitor:* "A crime is the commission of an act which is against the Law."
*Penitent:* "Um...what is law?"
*Inquisitor:* "Law is a code of behavior dictated by a person in authority, namely our Holy Emperor or one of his devout servants, which all men are expected to abide by."
*Penitent:* "I...still don't understand. What is authority?"
*Inquisitor:* "Authority is the means by which one man is granted the right to rule over other men."
*Penitent:* "Oh. Do you mean like the armies of hellhounds granted to my former overlord to extend his power across the surface of my homeworld?"
*Inquisitor:* _[taken aback]_ "No, authority is nothing like that at all. Our Holy Emperor's authority does not derive from the might of his armies, but from his Holy grace."
*Penitent:* "...but...the Emperor's armies slay any who disobey him, just like the overlord's hellhounds do. How is authority different from might?"
*Inquisitor:* "...I can see now that you are too lost to be saved." _[unsheaths his blade]_
Annals of logic and common sense. A difficult burden to bear.
don’t know if you ever got around to it, but a vid talking abt what could/would happen if humanity were to lose would be really interesting
Congrats and thank you for so much for all the work you put in to these. I am perfectly fine with a series lasting five years when its this good
Please NEVER make a short video. I love the depth you go into!
What a welcome surprise so glad to get another video from Luetin. Definitely need it today.
Huh. It just dawned on me that it's perfectly possible, lore wise, that the "Chaos Androids" were actual Necron Warriors. Either ones that were malfunctioning or those that had managed to claw their way back to some sembelance of free-will.
Keep em coming! Great work as always Luetin!
This was a pleasant surprise on this cold Sunday evening. Thank you LT.
I knew I should have stayed home! Listening to Luetin videos without a brush in my hand feels wrong
Thanks be to The Loremaster! Would love to see a video from you on the Heresy Daemon Princes!
I absolutely read "jostling" in Tommy's voice! Excellent video as ever fella! :D
"Only the dead can save the living." Necron HERESY!
Thank you for creating this amazing content. I listen to those during working and enjoy every minute of it.
Oh man 1 hour of awesome for the sleepless nights. Previously I listen to space science, like SCFI, all night long for months. Last mo tha have been almost only 40K , mainly Luetin09. Love it, thank you
Still here!!! Great to have you Luetin09!!
Welp I'm sleeping well for the next 2 weeks as i slow absorb lore in my sleep. Thanks mate and keep them coming.
Being 'found' by the imperium isn't a fate you would wish on any world - least of all your own.
Luetin , you are an absolute giant in your analysis of this very interesting universe. I love your video and work so thank you and I hope you keep it up.
Always a good day to see a new Luetin video is up
I would kill for versions of these without music to fall asleep to
Looking forward to this one, thanks for the content!
Thanks for the new vid Luetin, I was having a bad day but at least now I got some awsome 40k lore to watch !
Just woke up after 12hours of being asleep and I wake up to a 1hour lutein video. Praise the gods
Nice, very interesting video about some things no one seems to know a lot about. Thank you, keep up the good work :)
Hands down best warhammer content creator nobody is even close. I think Luetin must be C'tan.(without eating lifeforce and stars)
Your videos are always a treat to listen to. I always look forward to them.
Keep up the good work 👍
It’s crazy to see the progress, from Arma to now, i remember watching your videos when I was like 12, I’m going on 20 now brother🪖
Edit, Arma 3 Loadouts, and Zeus were my favorite series!!
That is indeed pretty mad, thank you for staying so committed to the channel :D
@Luetin09, I don't know if you will read this, but I want to say you are the best 40K lore reader and the only one I listen to on YT. I have always been a fan of 40K, but could never really get into the tabletop because of financial reasons. I hope one day you decide to do something on Kharn The Betrayer, he has always been my favorite to read about. Hearing you explain his lore would just put the icing on the cake for me! Thanks, much love, and may you continue to put out awesome videos for time to come.
By the emperor, seeing your upload was my personal highlight of the day!
May his eternal light shine upon you, good sir!
Babe wake up a new hour long luetin vid just dropped
Even in a xenos video luetin cant help but spend a chunk of it talking about the imperium
Great Video as always, very informative and enjoyable.
The music that kicks in at the start of the Tomb Worlds section is pretty great, but I can't seem to locate the specific track. Has anyone else?
Love to see your support reach 1 million
UA-cam has gotten so bad that 40K seems beningn
