>> AMEND - - When I speak about the Psykers in the age of strife, my brain mixed this upside down, the worlds who persecuted psykers fared better.
A huge thanks to everyone who has supported the channel this year, today we look at the struggle just for a world to survive despite the wider troubles of the Imperium. The fact Zhao-Arkhad still exists in M41 is quite the chance of fate >> If you enjoyed as always help out by hitting the LIKE - - and share your thoughts below. Lastly just to say that I am well aware that my voice changes tone midway through this, unfortunately this is due to my ongoing vocal health issues, and its very difficult to adjust it in post.

Yo
Hello I'm a new subscriber just wanted to introduce myself to you I will be still subscribing to your UA-cam 40K videos a lot.
Thank you for the video, happy holidays. :D
Mate, please look after your voice. Truly you are the best loremaster, but don’t shag yourself over for us muppets. We’re not worthy.

Luetin, please take care of your voice and throat. Dont push yourself if it only causes more issues down the road. Your Health and wellbeing are more important (heresy I know) than the blessed information/lore you provide. Your followers will understand and will happily await for the next blast of information you get to us. All praise the Omnissiah and happy holidays!
Absolutely this. I rather less frequent than none at all cause you broke yourself.
This.
Hear hear!
I'd rather get one vid every two or three months sustainably than one or more a month at the cost of harm to our favorite lore master, ultimately limiting his career.

I'm sad your struggling with vocal health issues but you are the reason I'm so into 40k now one day your emperor of mankind popped up on my homepage I watched it then all your other vids, and now I'm 41 books into the heresy series.
Thank you for what you do and I hope your able to solve your health issues soon keep it up it's inspiring
Was gonna like, but saw it was at 117. This is the way..
Seconded! You rekindled the flames of 40K obsession - thanks so much x
How can someone read 41 books and still not understand the difference between "you're" and "your"? That is baffling.
@@HostileAtHeart oh wow a bit of grammar was wrong how will I ever continue to go on, grow up it's sad that you feel the need to be so condescending over something so damn trivial.
@@Mace-1191 It's literally the most commonly made mistake in the written English language. If you actually read that much, you might have a learning disability to not have understood the difference between the two.
Instead of getting defensive, you could just accept that you made a mistake and actually learn the difference, so you can avoid making the same mistake in the future. But no, you've got to fire back at me instead rather than learn something, because 1uck me, right. You're sure showing me.

"There's something DOWN there."
CAME TO THE COMMENTS AS SOON AS I HEARD THAT PASSAGE HAHA
Young Absalom swept the dais surrounding the sarcophagus, careful to not knock the many candles and offering bowls that surrounded it. The words of his Master, Historiographer Nathaniel the Learned, echoed in his ears. “Lazy. Feckless. Slow.” Each a stinging barb, but “Artless” had stung the most. He slammed his broom, knocking an offering bowl over. Pungent oils and finely chopped herbs spilt over the dais and splashed onto the sarcophagus. The vox attached to the Sarcophagus crackled into life, the lights in the room rose and a warning chime started to sound, the Luetin09 was about to speak.
“Omnissiah, what have I done?” uttered Absalom
I wonder how common the name Nathaniel is. I always feel special reading my name mentioned by a stranger somewhere, because it doesn't appear often.
Woah where did all the exposition lore come from?? Lol
@@1337-Nathaniel I am playing warhammer with a buddy named Nathaniel on Sunday. It's a biblical name so somewhat common by nature.
Lol you could at least spell Luetin09 right.
I love the Mechanicus design and find their culture so interesting. However their persecution of all those who would innovate is one of the biggest self inflicted wounds the Imperium has faces. It's tragic in a way.
We need BL to do a book series on the Mechanicus Civil War on Mars, I can't believe they didn't have 3-4 books throughout the Horus Heresy series detailing this major conflict.
The whole of the Mechanicus are an oxymoron, but that’s what makes them special
They know, but don’t understand
They discover, but don’t create
There is a sense where the same can be said for psykers though, and I mean the EXACT same thing. Mainly because while mankind would be augmented by better use of psykers, their use is strictly limited for a reason. You can see the scale of firepower mankind has. They literally tunnel warmholes through hell and destroy planets. The idea behind that being, the same thing as when mankind invented the atom bomb, some people questioned if it would be enough to trigger a chain reaction and set the atmosphere and fire (but they did it anyway). There's the fact our recent technology is melting the icecaps. The actual true costs of technological innovation are obscured, and the mankind of the 41st millenium has literally lived through so many of them that they are now permanently psychologically scarred as a species. Keeping in mind, one of those, involved AI eating entire planets.
There's a reason why mankind is totally terrified of inventing new things, because at least we know what to expect of the old tech in theory, and what horrors unleashed by the new tech? Imagine if we invented a thing which caused False Vacuum Decay.

I got introduced to 40k by some of my good friends. Didn't really get into the lore or anything until I saw Astartes last year. Now, I'm caught up on every Leutin Lore video there is and I can't thank you enough for all the hard work you do to make these videos. They're truly some of the greatest 40k Lore videos out there, if not the best.
They are definitely the most comprehensive and detailed ones I have seen so far.
And for me there is nothing more soothing than listening to Luetin philosophizing about the nature of Chaos for hours and hours on end ;D
Awesome man 🤟🏻
Argee with you, if you have the time Luetin09 are the best videos to really understand the 40k vers
My favorites are where he's explaining the philosophical schools of the inquisition
The loss of a forgeworld means the loss of knowledge. Fortunately we have lore-keeper Luetin 09 to help
So their choice was between an asteroid belt within easy reach and resources that could be stockpiled for later expeditions, or a planet rich in resources but near impossible to reach at the time and requiring a significant scavenging of their already meager supply and they chose the latter? Sounds about right, grimdark from start to finish.
Sounds like me on Elite Dangerous lol
High risk, high reward. Just like in real life. Thas why you pay more intrest on money you need, than money you dont.
@@jrr7031 That implies bad tidings for our future.
@@agentc7020 its true. Ever try to get an SBA loan as a startup? Plus innovation is made by pushing boundaries, takes $$ to make money, generally speaking.
@@jrr7031 Well yeah but high risk high rewards usually end in disaster, had they opted for the asteroid belt in the first place 20k perfectly good workers and many valuable engines would have been put to better use, of course hindsight is 20/20 but still, we should have plans for steady rises instead of hail marys.
Well thank the Omnissiah, I had some skitarii painting to do! Thanks Luetin
Here I was, coming home from work psychotically depressed from a multitude of things to finally lay down in bed to see this in my inbox.
Thank you Luetin for what you do. It means a lot
Thanks so much for the constant content dude, as someone who had no idea about 40k before your videos it's all really interesting & you do a great job!
I really like the technological and industrial horror of the Dark Mechanicum and Adeptus Mechanicus
Great video as always, now ahem "don't you open that trapdoor, your a fool if you dare. Stay away from that trapdoor, cause there's something down there"
Luetin you bless us this day
This day jus keeps getting better!
Luetin could you please do a piece on "The Exorcists" space marines ?:)
They are basically a better "Grey Knights" chapter.
Here me out!
An Exorcists marine might not beat a Grey Knights marine 1v1, but to create a single grey knight you must lose 100 000+ psykers, which is OUTRAGEOS WASTE!!! You can feed the astronomicon for years with so many psykers...
The Exorcists's recruitment do have higher man-loss ratio than a regular astrates chapter, but not nearly close to 100 000 to 1 as it is with the Grey Knights and ends with the same result - astrates incorruptible by chaos.
Also, since I know you likes mysteries, here is one for you:
All Exorcists become blanks during their initiation, but the chapter still has Librarians. How can a blank have psychic powers?
Come on Luetin... how could you not be fascinated by them!? :D
They are so much like you!!! :P
Loyal to the Imperium, but would be considered heretical by most imperial citizens.
I think if you lived in 40k you would be an Exorcist, or at least part of the extreme faction of the Inquisition that created the Exorcists chapter. :)
P.S. I'll post this under every video you upload, until you make the video or tell me to f*** off :))
Peace!
Bro fr please give me novel about it im new to 40k and id like to read about em 🤲🙏
AFAIK Exorcists do not become blanks, they simply become immune to demonic possession - as they are created into Daemonhosts, likely this gives them a lot of knowledge then allowing them to resist demonic influence with no effort (and grow to hate daemons in the process).
Also - I don't think they're remotely capable to the Grey Knights. This is like you saying that the US Army is superior to the Marine Corp simply because it is easier and more consistent to pass their initiation. The reality is that they both have individual, separate uses and should be respected individually as such.
In terms of heretical... yeah, you might be right there. IMO i'd prefer a video on something like the Dark Cells under Terra or some other unsolved mystery.
@@lukesouter9164 My personal hypothesis about the exorcists both having "no psychic signature" and librarians(aka psykers) is that whoever created the Exorcists lore, just slept trough 40k orientation class :))
but I strongly hope that Luetin can come up with something better! :)
ugh :( ...
I replied to Luke 2 times, and UA-cam removed my first reply after I replied to him a second time, so I'll recreate it under here:
the definition of blank:
"A Blank, also known as an Untouchable, a psychic Null, and a Pariah, is a Human who possesses the rare mutation sometimes described as the "Pariah Gene" that makes them generate no psychic presence in the Immaterium, thus leaving them essentially soulless."
also: "A Blank is the direct antithesis of Chaos as he or she possesses no presence within the Warp. Blanks are completely immune to daemonic possession and spiritual corruption by the forces or agents of Chaos."
and from warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Exorcists :"This process has also caused the subjects to have no psychic signature that psykers can detect."
an Exorcist marine might not have the Pariah gene, but sounds pretty blank to me at least :)
there are many levels of "psykickness" as well as many levels of "blanckness"
an alpha+ psyker can destroy a planet, an omega Blank can stop a major warpstorm.
most imperial citizens are ever so slightly psykic, very low on the psykick scale - not true psykers, but also not zero.
similarly the exorcists are just on the low levels of blankness.
in regards of the US Marine to army comparison, the main "shtick" of the Grey Knights is that they are incorruptible, psyker marines.
an Exorcist is an incorruptible marine, that can sometimes also be a psyker, that costs a bazzilion times less to create than a grey knight.
The more proper comparison to modern day military forces would be:
an Exorcist marine training costs the same as the training of a US Marine, and a Grey Knight training costs the same as training of the personal of an entire aircraft carrier ship, to get a slightly better US Marine :)
Grey Knights are amazing yes, but at some point you have to cut costs :D
I don't even play 40k but the stories are so intriguing. You do 40k a great service in providing a voice to the story.
18:30 I've actually heard many fans claim the opposite, that the worlds that distrusted and executed their psychers out of fear and judgement actually faired better due to there being far fewer psychers alive on their worlds when the shit hit the fan. It's usually and matter of factly stated with ironic grimdark humor. Is this not true canonically?
That was my impression.
Of course, that will shift depending on which type of lesson the authors want to instill. One author trying to emphasize the dystopian nature of the setting will say the "kill the psykers" policy saved the planets, others who want to condemn the hypocrisy and short-sightedness of the society will claim the saving of psykers had good effects. I suspect the "will we see new technology" sub-genre is more inclined to the latter view.
I seem to remember Luetin himself stating that worlds which purged psychers faired well whereas worlds which tolerated them suffered greatly in past videos
@@mawetilumogdikilumhahom yeah same. I hope he sees this thread and clears it up
I was wondering the same. But the galaxy being so wide I guess it wouldn't be outlandish if a general rule couldn't be drawn. I imagine some worlds which treated psykers better did so responsibly, while others went the way of Prospero. On the other hand, I imagine that some planets which treated their paykers poorly did it so effectively that none of the poor buggers lived, while others simply made it easier for them to fall to chaos
@@mawetilumogdikilumhahom @Johnny Fiction - yup I got this screwed up lol I might make a small vid about it this weekend.
Listened to this while painting my first ever unit in my first ever army.

Audible is what truly helped me get into 40k, taking the dog for a walk every day listening to the Horus Heresy is my morning coffee ☕️
Audible is great, except because I listen/read late at night. I always fell asleep, and I have no way knowing where I was with audio 😄 Text is better for me so I just have to backtrack maybe half a page to get back.

By the throne, is this an early Sanguinalia gift?
What better way to end a rough day at work with the fantastic narration about examples of how conditions couple be much worse. Thanks Luetin!
Great as always, and can we give a shout-out to the fact that the writer chose a micrometeroite as the inciting incident, rather than something grandiose like ork space pirates, which would have been easy given the setting, but ultimately would make it feel much less real and expansive and more claustrophobic?
I really hope we get a lore video on the imperial guard as a whole from the tactics and command structure to Organization, recruitment and weaponry also a mention of certain units

I too want to see how the Imperium progresses. Its current level of technological stagnation is not supportable. Given the size and number of threats it is facing, its inability and unwillingness to progress is going to screw it hard.
Don't worry we have Cawl.
@@THExRISER Also isn't Valdor and his team comeback with building armies consisting of many new things including controllable "good daemons" to his whim for future war? The sooner Imperium step up their games, the closer it's setting to actual "end-times" scenarios, it doesn't have to be the less-desirable Age of Sigmar mode but at least having the war perpetuated to a better favour would be great, considering new threats like Slaanesh shouldn't even last this long and you know, tyrannids' Leviathan tendrils encroaching closer and closer
