Any moisture that manages to get between the felt and the tiles, should drain down the felt into the guttering. The felt is overlapped horizontally to stop water coming back into the roof space. Simply covering the hole with new felt will not work.
Some patches ok, some not sticky enough, I had to use a hairdryer and a roller to do a few times after a few weeks, it’s ok in general. I hope this helps, thanks

Yes, you are right, mine was just temporary fixed, thanks
Hi, what's the purpose of roof felt? If there's even a small leak that starts in the roof, wouldn't the felt get ruined? Why put it up at all?
The purpose is to seal the broken area and to stop the water and dust coming down through the hole, thanks
roof felt IS the waterproofing , the tiles dont stop the rain on their own .........its the felt that makes the water run down off the roof
Great vid. But what is that pipe you went round
Thank you Terry, it’s the chimney duct for the gas fire downstairs
@@darrenchan6248 understand. Hardly gets warm I imagine
Hi Darren, did this work? I have water coming through a gap in the felt and am hoping the flashband tape alone will do it

@@darrenchan6248 Thank you. I have seen a Primer is available to aid adhesion - I might try too. Thanks Darren
