Think that has a lot to do with electronics. Fishman is amazing and have such a versatile sound. Especially for rock and metal. Glad Ibanez went with fishman. Now they have all the big dogs in electronics. Aguilar Bartolini and Nordstrand
@@basstheworldofficial The good thing is I'm sure you guys are going to do it justice... Unlike Ibanez's own video which imo was absolutely terrible and didn't make me want to even try that bass 😐
Can anyone recommend a decent bass guitar at around the £300-£400 price bracket? Want something intermediate ideally. Also wouldn't mind a short scale.
I think it's because this has a new proprietary preamp with a mid control. Previous Fishman applications have only used a 2-Band which resulted in an extremely scooped sound.
I put Status-Pickups in the Ibanez Multiscale. The weak points were always the pickups. I think people should more experiment what they want. I don't know if you need so many sounds. Perhaps just the pickups you like: Status, Semjon Drunken ...
@@dgregory4178 cool Idea. It is cool to read you haven't lost the trust in Bartolinis. I have. Honest I believe you but I am not going to buy any instruments with Bartolinis anymore. Darkglass has some amazing sounds. Depending on the songs very useful. I am using the preamps in the Line6 Helix. It is like a Swiss Army Knife. The tech21 is mostly the perfect choice.
@quickwashtheraccoon7601 I have a Spector Euro LT that comes with Barts and a Darkglass pre stock. It is the best tone and most responsive bass I have ever put my hands on. Granted, it's a custom pre and PU's made for Spector but the sound is PERFECT!
@quickwashtheraccoon7601 OH, another thing. This is the first time I haven't sold the instrument or replaced the Barts. In my Spector, the combo of the Darkglass and Bartolini is just magic IMO.
I keep trying to give Fishmans a chance but they always sound like the CHAT GPT of tone, very robotic and simulated. There is not enough dynamics and too much compression generally. The bass seems nice but let's face it, active pickups AND a preamp? get the best passive pickups you can find and then add the right preamp. You start with phenomenal tone. Then you color it with the preamp. Fishman fluence for guitar have one useful tone, the modern active tone, because they are modern and active. Not sure you'd ever want this on bass, because its lost in the mix. Nice looking bass though. Ratio tuners seem cool if unnecessary.
Hi the bass is balanced , has neck diving? Thx for your help. I wanna buy a ehb for no neck diving and lightweight but if this bass is similar for balancing during playing standing up, i could think to buy it instead the headless. Thx for your help
I got the SRMS625EX model Iron label one. Which is has the same wood (only fretboard is made of some hard ass plastic), and barts instead of fishmans. The guitar doesn't have any neck dive at all, the deck is quite heavy because of electronics and the 9v battery in it, and overall weight is around 3,4 kg.
@@57precisionthat is somehow right. A bass with EMG pickups is a bass with a bass around the EMG pickups. EMG does not transfer the instrument so well.
Ibanez makes great affordable to mid priced instruments. That includes 7 and 8 string guitars, 5 and 6 string basses. How hard can it be to make a multiscale bass in that range?
@basstheworldofficial Since you do have a good relationship with Thomann, might it be possible for you to review their upright basses? Maybe even do a shootout between the 111 22 33 and the five string 44?
@@basstheworldofficial tbh if i would be a serious upright player i wouldnt look into the thomann ones. They might be a fun and inexpensive addition to my electric basses especialy with a proper bow. Sorry to state, You are right. Return policy is crucial here. At the store it had been possible (active fiver fretless did suck the battery within a day) has a replacement on site a few weeks later (not Thomann, just at the shop in Frankfurt's South). The other Ibanez, 80ies origin, is just a dream but that's been another time it seems 😢
A favorite of “Prog-artists. Sound damn good, and look damn good.
Gregor, why don’t we ever see you playing? Just curious.
Ibanez, please make a SRF7xx series style multiscale bass, with piezos and Bartolinis..
I 💜 SOPHIE
From experience, Just get a Dingwall
That sound is so FULL, i love it!
It sounds like my J after going into tech 21. Super thick like gravy

Panga panga fanclub represent! I love that wood on my SRF705.
Same here!
I want one so bad
A bit overkill for my taste but its certainly a striking finish
The fretless in the background is probably one of the most anticipated for Ibanez in years
I have mine on preorder
it's fantastic! video coming in a few weeks

Great Show
This bass is absolutely beautiful!
Sound-wise, it reminds me of the HIFI sound of the old Ergodyne basses.
Would have loved to hear the single coil mode / balance on individual pickups just to get a little more info on the sound. Looks nice though!
We’ve recorded the new BTB this week with the same configuration and did plenty of singlecoil/humbucker comparisons in all positions

Cant wait!
Idk why but I’ve never loved the sound of these pickups before. But how you’ve recorded them here I really like them

I put Bartolini classic bass PU's in my multiscale and having a Darkglass Tone capsule installed now. Agree the stock pickups suck.

They are assholes for making this. I just bought the BTB805MS and the SRMS805 and now I need this. I'm a sucker for that finish....🤦♂️
I absolutely love my Ibanez basses. 🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽
But, does it come in black?😉
The bass looks cool but if it is multi scale, why not 37 inch on the low B? Wouldn't that work better for tension and intonation?
Not everyone likes these extremely long scales. This has a similar effect but feels a lot more like normal basses

for this kind of bass we need to the singer of the hehirsch effekt doing the demo
I own a bass with fishmans and man, I'm disappointed with those, nothing like emgs for me.
They sound like programmed MIDI bass to me.

Great specs and sounds, but I just don't like that color finish.
This is going to be unpopular but Fishman Fluence have no place on a bass.
