So I'm installing this absolutely amazing swivel seat in project BadAstro from a new company that just started last year called Ironcloud Metalworks. I hear Derek is working on swivels for other vans, and if you are LUCKY he will make a swivel for yours because this thing is AWESOME. I'm blown away by the quality of construction, the design, and how well it work. This video documents my install experience and how the swivel works. Yes, it's more expensive than other generic van swivels, and double-yes, it's 1000% worth it, especially if you wanted a little more space inside your van!

Happy vannin', stay tuned for more adventures.
Cheers!

Love mine! 2006 4x4 Duramax Express.
Sturdy. Doesn't jiggle around. Worth the money.
Supremely well made.
Thanks for this video. I just got a 99 mostly already built, going to add this soon.
DUDE !! Thanks now I’m all hot for the parts they don’t make yet . 😎👍
Yeah, well, I figured non-astro guys would want a heads up. THere's usually a 3 month waiting list on these parts because they're so well made, get in early if you can.
I have those swivels in both my vans. They're built like some military spec swivel lol. 👍
wayyyyyy overbuilt, love it.
I just did this too - its a groovy mod!
so cool the customization and creativity! So...how will you deal with the seatbelt since it's anchored to the rear medial bolt? Is there enough clearance so that it will swivel around with it in place? Awesome job and video.
I bolted it down and you just flex it out of the way when rotating the seat, so not an issue! Super geeked about this piece of kit, exceeded all expectations.
@@ADDvanced awesome.
I think in Europe I only remember the first Renault Espace having swivel seats.
Nice job!
I know some 1950s american cars had them. This was a big ticket item for this build and I could not be happier with how it turned out.
@@ADDvanced It sure looks relaxing!
The base looks a little bit shorter than the original, do you get a little bit more headroom from the new swivel base?
Seems about the same... I don't notice a difference.
I look the price is very expensive and a lot of work to put it on. I'm telling you because I bought one in Seattle for $234 and in an hour and a half everything was finished...good video, I congratulate you.
I am guessing you did not get one this overbuilt for that price. The price is high, but the durability and construction is umatched. They make cheaper ones but I would not want to be in an accident where the seat can fall off the tiny little bearing.
Can you do the same thing to the driver seat? cool video!
If the driver's seat isn't power, maybe?
@@ADDvanced thanks!
will the seat back hit the steering wheel or is there enough clearance to put one on the driver side
Foamy front end FTW!
You look like Lars Ulrich, the drummer of Metallica. I bet you get that alot.
Napster BADDDDDDDDDD
What seats are those from?
It's a DMC Conversion van, so they're just conversion van seats.
Nope it won't fit any van I challenge anyone to find or make a swivel base for an ldv cub
You need to contact ironcloud man. They're looking at what models to develop these for, right now.
