- I bought a Toro Power Clear 60 Volt Snow Thrower to use on my parent's driveway. This is the very first time I used it. Brand new out of the box and it would only start and shut itself off... at first. I have no idea what the glitch was.
Great video as always👍That is one thing about a snow blower or thrower🤔 that drives me crazy is using one on a windy day!!! thanks for the video😁👍
Thanks! Yeah, really wish I could have featured my $54 tractor cab, but good news, the repairs are done and I have my tractor back! Doubt we'll have any more plowable snow this season.
I live in a townhouse community with a snow plow service, but they only seem to come when the total storm is over. Until recently, i had a low front wheel drive car, a single mom neighbor that i share a driveway with, and three elder lady neighbors as well, and i would always shovel all 5 driveways proactively. I would love this battery snow blower to make it easier, but not sure i can justify the price given that we don't HAVE to clear the snow... We just have to wait. But i keep coming back to finding more videos about it.... Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
That sounds frustrating. But, it seems like it would be perfect for your application 😁👍
Thank you for this video.
My pleasure! Glad it was helpful 😁👍
I have the same snow blower. It helped me a lot to clear quickly and easily snow. I love it!However , today I brushed it off from snow and accidently starter button felt off and after doesn't start just makes a high pitched, long sound. It is just 2 years old.
Thanks for sharing. Mine is working as it should this year. Never figured out what kept it from running last year. Fingers crossed 🤞
I charged my battery and it works again.😆
Thought an electric snow blower would solve my problem of having to try to start my gas blower after sitting all summer. Then you had trouble trying to get the electric one started! Hope that problem doesn't come back again.
When you finally did get It going it seemed to have run great, I need something like that as well but my drive is only about 20 to 25 feet long and 2 car lengths wide..I normally use just a shovel and doesn't take to long, but now my back is messed up, old age I'm guessing..lol..Great video though I do own a Toro walk behind mower I bought this year and it runs like a champ..Toro usually has some wonderful products..😁👍
I'm looking forward to using it this winter. It's mainly for clearing my parent's drive because I can throw it in my truck and take it over there. I'll most likely do a follow-up video on it this winter.
You are correct! Previous comment deleted. Today I am returning the W/M Hart 40 volt snow blower (same unit as the Ryobi 18" 40 volt). FedEx tore up the box and the chute ring on the machine is broken. Lots of plastic on the Hart and Ryobi machines. The Toro looks like a lot of metal is used, should be more durable. It looks like I will get this Toro. Going price is $749. Do you think it's a good value? Thanks, and great video review.
Prices on everything have gone up but I can say the issue I experienced in this video was probably due to the battery not seating completely and I haven't had any issues since. I'm in NE Ohio and we didn't get much snow this winter, but the couple of times I used it, it ran flawlessly. I really like the chute adjustment and it is lightweight so very easy to move and transport. Seems like it has plenty of power as well. Good luck! 👍
If you find yourself here like I did, and your snowblower is giving you 4 beeps and will not start, the driver motor is broken. I got a DOA unit but was able to return to home depot for a new one.
Thank you very much for the information! My problem is intermittent. It worked this year. Hope it keeps working 🤞
Weird problem of not wanting to run. Did the problem ever show up again?
We haven't had a great deal of snow yet this season but I did take it out to blow off the sidewalk and it did the same thing twice, but then ran just fine after that??? So weird 😕 I'll do an update video if we ever get any real snow ❄️
You didn't have the battery in properly.
You may be right. It's working this year so it must have been user error.
@@samsdoinstuff I've got that same machine..and the power shovel as well. Both have done that to me. I didn't have the battery clicked in all the way.
Thank you so much! I was baffled to say the least, lol.
How do you easily fold it up for storage. I do not see a way. It takes up way to much room
Good question. The handle folds just like it came in the box, but it didn't seem like it was easy to screw the fasteners in. I leave mine fully assembled 😁👍
@@samsdoinstuff you have remove the plastic bolts near base of handle. It is the cord that wont let you fold it over. It IS NOT space saving. I have the mower and it takes seconds to fold the handle over. there has to be a solution!
I wonder if the initial start up problem was a cold battery?
Maybe, but it hasn't done it since so that's good 😁👍
I think you should change the name of your video because it obviously does run
Thank you! You're right. And it's been running ever since. Should have done that a while ago 😁👍
@@samsdoinstuff I've been thinking about buying does it work well on the hard Rocky snow that the snowplow always leaves behind at the bottom of the drive? That's the stuff that kills me
Made in China
I do my best to avoid that, but it's damn near impossible
