      The problem was that Vick couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with his arm. Roddy White didn't become a Pro Bowler until Vick's Dog Incident and Joey Harrington was throwing to him. That's right, Joey Bust Harrington made Roddy White a Star for Matt Ryan to use, not Vick. He was a sub 1k receiver with Vick.

      Pets are not people but still should not be treated with cruelty.
      As someone who has two dogs and not a fan of dog fighting, I still think the response and penalty was way over the top. It bothers me when animal cruelty has penalties that often exceed assault on humans.

    • @TPaine76
      @TPaine76 29 днів тому +1

      A “mistake” is just something that was done “in error”. It can refer to a “poor decision” as well as “an accident”. I think words are important too. But this comment makes it sound like you’re more concerned about “passing the right judgement” than you are about “using the correct words”. We’re all human. Humans make mistakes - some more harmful than others. The point in calling out harmful behavior should be to reduce current harm and prevent future harm - not to punish people. I don’t think Justice should be about retribution.

    As a 49er fan I always liked Alex Smith. He was atrocious as a rookie but got better every year. Year two a 62 yard block by Alex Smith won them a game against Arizona to put them into playoff contention given a terrible division. If it wasn't for an absolutely incredible muffed punt he would've lead us to the Super Bowl, had a good chance to win it given the opponent and would've continued his very good play with Harbaugh's scheme. (That's no shot at Kap as he played as well as he possibly could have those two following years). His comeback following that injury was nothing short of incredible. Niner's did him wrong and I'll say that as a fan. Hats off to that guy both on and off the field.

    I agree. Per game it's the most physically demanding, but over recent history they only play 16-17 games. Each game it's incredibly taxing. The other good example is playing 82 NHL games of less often contact, but when collisions happen they are often at speeds that exceed average nfl short length sprint speed at a rate 33-50%.
    I'm not disagreeing, there's a reason NFL teams only play once a week, but based on numbers I don't think it's the absolute example of most physically taxing sport.
    But according to ESPN screen time, the NHL hasn't existed since Gretzky. So maybe I'm hallucinating a sport that isn't real

    Vick didnt just run dog fights, he buried them to their heads for days, starved, electricuted them and 32 other insane tortures to get his dogs mean and his absolute slaves, well yall needed to see the pics of the dogs being saved, which btw were so far gone had to be put down. So i say Vick who?

    • @jackderaway
      @jackderaway 3 місяці тому +2

      He didn’t bury them up to their heads. Like how would that even be possible? The dirt would be disturbed and not compacted so it would just get out. He buried a bunch of dogs like in a big grave.
      He didn’t electrocute them as torture they would try to revive dogs that died or make sure they were dead.
      I’m not defending (nor is he) what he DID do. But don’t lie to make it sound worse. The truth is bad enough.

    David Carr was a very talented quarterback but he got beat to death in Houston. It ruined his career. I remember watching games with him in it getting hit so hard that I could not believe he got back up, the defensive lineman would be in his face immediately after he snapped the ball. He had the worst offensive line I have ever seen

      that is right. We were at the initial game where they beat the cowboys in their first game ever but even then it was hard to watch how many sacks and hurry ups he had to deal with and it got worse throughout the season. It was a horrible expansion team o-line and then he lost his confidence after the first 2 or 3 games.

    Same story for every player on this list. They get drafted by the worst teams with the worst owners and have basically zero chance to succeed. The only way any of them make it is to survive with their body intact to the end of their rookie contract and then move to a team that can nurture their talents long enough to see a return for their investment.

    I don't think there's any doubts that Eli Manning is a Hall of Famer. He beat the Patriots not once but TWICE in the SB... One of those wins denied the Patriots of the perfect season. On the last drive in one of these SB wins, it was all Eli with a great catch by David Tyree. This in addition to his individual numbers is enough to get him a HOF jacket. It won't be first ballot but he will get there

      @@atg1338 football is a TEAM sport, correct? Let me answer that for you... YES. So... You can't put the TEAM's overall record on him unless he literally lost the game for his team. I wouldn't consider Mario Manningham's catch "lucky" when you look at his position and the VERY small window he had. That's a SKILL that only a person that makes a living doing it. And you can't argue his INT record... Brett Favre has more than anyone in NFL history and he's in the Hall.

      @@atg1338 You're right... I'm ignorant for trying to explain football to someone that can read stats but clearly doesn't understand the difference between team stats and personal stats. Now who's the ignorant one? Or... Are you one of these people I've been warned about? Are you the "I'm a prepubescent that just got my 1st phone and I'm attempting to blend in with the adults?" You did say something that I will agree with tho... However, I'm gonna put a twist on it. I am ignorant in the fact that I'm trying to explain football to someone that is ALL AROUND ignorant. No matter what I do, how I explain it or how dumb I dumb it down, you won't get it. Football = TEAM sport. Team = 53 men. Offense = 11 men. Defense = men. QB = 1 man on offense. While the QB is always the first person to get blamed for a TEAM losing their game, even before the coach, the QB isn't the one that's at fault. Bad play calls by coaches, dropped passes, fumbles, penalties and the zebras are ALL contributing factors to a TEAM's loss. My advice to you is STOP blaming the QB for the loss and look at the ENTIRE game. Most of the time... It's a bad penalty call that costs a team if/when the game is close. If it's a blow out, there's usually several reasons for it. But it's NOT ALWAYS THE QB. If you believe that, pull your head out 💩
