- Ever wonder what Gravemind might've looked like in Halo 3? We've only seen his tentacles in a couple Halo 3 cutscenes, but never what they were attached to. Let's find out!

What does high charity look like in halo 3. At the end I saw some of it but it would be cool to see you fly around to see.

I would totally love a tour around the mission Cortana actually. Seems pretty cool.
They do have a picture of Gravemind in the handbook for the game, sadly I can't find mine and the PDF is awful quality, but if you own Halo 3 for the X360 that's your best look at it
search up halo 3 gravemind on google images and it is the 5th image across. It isn't an actual picture of the gravemind ingame,it looks like its taken from a halo comic

Nope, just really, really long ones. It took them a while to reach that far.

I personally think he's still alive and is waiting for the right time to emerge (The Awakening the Nightmare DLC)
If one gravemind dies his mind and memory goes to another proto gravemind that will become the next gravemind, so basically aslong as there are flood the gravemind will be there aswell.

Theory: Gravemind had become High Charity. However you'd think there would be a central hub to all of it like Halo 2's model. It would seem he had enough mass to stretch way beyond the crash site. Maybe that's somewhere Bungie never got to or thought to create.
The book Hunters in the Dark explained a bit on how much damage the Ark sustained but the Gravemind could have hidden itself somewhere remote or deep underground to avoid death like it did in the Library on Delta Halo.
You'd have to wonder how it survived for so long before the Covenant and Humans arrived without having any biomass, except maybe Halo's animal life or what little there is.

Ok got a theory now. What if the gravemind in halo 3 IS high charity. Like we see most of the ship is now flood flesh. And we just saw the tentacles come from the flesh ground. It could explain how they're actually flying the ship earlier and how he knows exactly where the chief is when the flood isn't near him on cortana. And for people asking how he got tentacles to the end of the covenant, we saw in halo 2 he can teleport people to different locations so who's to say he didn't do that and leave those portals open to retreat his tentacles. (Also helps explain why you only see the tentacles under the cutscene.)
LionWithAGun At the end of The Covenant he's also already on the Ark (He crashed High Charity into it) so that could be another explanation

This is false. It need only look decent from planned angles or visible fov. All rules go out the door for everything else.
Because the game only has to load that so the game runs faster

With the mod you used, what I found most interesting is how light volumes, character models, etc jumped around during the cutscene e.g. 1:04 -1:50. It was interesting because I know the normal scene playthrough off by heart, and it was really cool to see how it worked to get the desired effect.

Because the camera shot at that point doesn't include the Chief, so he isn't animated.

Why the white captain elite in Halo 5 isn't more seen? However it was an important character who fought in side of Arbiter

Yah I want to see the flying cut scenes. I think it's a great idea to get a different view/perspective of what was happening throughout the scenes

Was getting some major Boundary Break vibes off this vid, which is not a bad thing. You're dead on about the bases of the tentacles being textured, though; I've learned through Boundary Break that in cases like that, devs often leave that part empty, simply because it's not worth the time or effort (or processor resources) to put a texture somewhere the player is never supposed to see.
I love these types of videos, but I usually watch anything you post anyways so do what you feel is cool.
In halo 3 if you saw the graveminds head face thingy I think 343 might have made a anniversary to make it not confusing why he looks different... Halo 3 anniversary RIP

Did you actually expect there to be something? The only reason he had a model in halo 2 is because he's visible in a cutscene
I think it would be a good idea to fly around the cutscenes and show people what it looks like.
H2A would probably be your best at finding what he looks like normally in the cutscene

Lo que pasa es que el Nivel Exclusa y Cortana eran uno solo, la idea original era salvar rapidamente a cortana buscar un Scarab insertar la IA, y mientras estabas dentro debias destruir las hordas flood del nucleo de Cortana y los tentaculos intentando destruir las patas por eso tienen un detalle interno, sin embargo por falta de tiempo y al abandonar el lider del escenario decidieron hacer dos nvl, quedando en aguas la venganza de cortana prueba de ello es que una ves sale de Suma Caridad ella esta normal sin rastros de rampancia cuando esto, deberia de esplicarse a lo largo de nvl y como jhace sufrir al Gravemind, hubiera sido una pelea Epica de titanes
i always thought he was just a bunch of tenticals just coming out of walls floors and sometimes platforms you cant see. I used to think there was a floor under the platform where the Arbitor killed Truth in the covinent but it turns out it was just floating im a little dissapointed now.
Would be interesting to have a look around in the Gravemind cutscene in halo 2. :-) Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Why do tentacles come out of Truth's face before he dies? I never understood that.

He got infected before Chief and Arbiter got to the control panel. That's the infection taking hold, it's also why Truth talks like the Gravemind in certain sentences.

In the mission: The Sacred Icon, there are 4 marines that are accessible via sputnik and nades. Aside from these fellas, are there any other marines in the mission? Or just voice clips from the marines?

Hey, my game always crashed on Halo: MCC on Halo 2. I can't get past the Arbiter level because of this issue. Halo 2 is the only problem.
