Hi, I ❤ your videos you always have great content. I would love to see a video on how your candles burn, how hot they get after two or three hours and how much wax melts. I'm looking for information on what's considered to hot. I double wick my jars but I feel they get very hot. Thank you 😊
Hi Erica! I’ve watched so many videos and I definitely trust your thoughts on this. Currently I am using Advanced CB soy wax. They say to heat wax to 70-75 degrees Celsius. Cool to 60 degrees and add FO then pour immediately after the 2 minute stir of course. So many people say to add FO at a higher temp (in your case around 85 degrees Celsius) my hot an cold throw isn’t too bad. I use 10% FO. Some scents are more noticeable than others but I would love a much stronger scent throw. Any ideas on what you recommend? I hate to make candles knowing that they could be better!
Hi Erica :) I just came across your channel as, I too, am interested in beginning candle making. I am definitely nervous if I can actually do this. I am so excited and passionate about the ideas in my head but definitely nervous how it will go. Your videos are SO full of great info so thank you!! My one question on this video is, what is the ratio of soy wax and beeswax that you use? And does the beeswax really help the burn/melt of the candle vs soy alone? Also, since soy wax and beeswax have different melting and pouring temp points, how do you find that right balance? I started my candle making ideas thinking of just making beeswax candles, however, I have discovered that it could be a little limited and maybe more difficult to work with. But I really want to produce something that is enjoyable, has a quality burn and is also eco-friendly and can give some benefit. Anyway, it's a joy to watch your videos and your processes. Any advice you can give on my questions is greatly appreciated! Happy candle-making :)
Thanks for sharing! Been watching your videos and enjoy them all! Love you detailed techniques. As a father to teenage twin daughters we’re going to start making candles together for the whole family! Just waiting on a couple things left to come in. Thanks Erica!
Hello Erica! Thank you again for this informative video, your process seems so well thought and effortless (god knows how many trials and errors have you experienced to come to this level!). I wanted to ask you how do you manage with these temperature variations of the digital thermometer. I have the same one, and in comparison with a classic one, I can see there are variations. I understand it comes with experience, as I am in the testing process right now figuring out my “recipes”, I just want to avoid any variations as much as possible. Also, do you test the candles in every new batch you make?
Honestly I know this isn’t really an answer but it definitely just comes with experience. I’m pretty laid back when it comes to candle making and I’m not very strict on exact temperatures and work within a range. And no I don’t test every new batch, but I do test when I get new shipments of wax in 🤍

Hi 👋🏻 I have a question about the curing time do because I saw some videos saying that I need to wite two weeks before I use the candle and som said it OK to use it after like 3 or 4 days, what is better ? 😅
Hi Erica, love your videos. I would love to know whether your candles have problems with sweating in the humid, hot days. I've made a big batch of candles the other day and here in Australia it's been quite warm and humid and I have noticed all of them sweating!! I know it doesn't effect the performance of them but I'd love to know how you cool them down as it doesn't look that nice when packaging them up for people and they arrive with blister like droplets on the top. TIA
May i ask where you get your jars from? I just started my small batch candle company and love those jars, but i have been buying retail and need a good whole saler for jars , wicks and fragrance.... cheapest I have found for those black matte jars is $3/jar for an 8 oz . ahh
Hi! What oz are your vessels? 10z or 13.5oz? I'm buying the 13.5 in white since they are out of the black (sad face) but wondering which wick size you'd recommend for the 13.5, single wick and double?
So most of the time the rough tops are due to the kind of wax you’re using. Sometimes the temp can affect this though (and people do all sorts of things that work for them ie pouring hotter or cooler) however if you’re working with 100% soy wax this can be more finicky and cause more rough tops that can be fixed with a heat gun :) In fact I use a heat gun a lot! Especially for cleaning. Check out this video I made on my heat gun: ua-cam.com/video/MZNSQ96nXCg/v-deo.html And then I just use soap and warm water to clean out my silicone measuring cups :)
I also make candles at home and I have a question I would like to ask you about. I use soy wax as wax. Even though I pour it into glass containers at 160 degrees, gaps appear between the glass and the candle the next day. How do I solve this problem?
What is the temp of the room you’re pouring in? That can make a difference on how slowly the candles can cool down to prevent major shrinkage from the sides of the jar
