    The thing you have to keep in mind with bobbles is that they are actually 5 double crochet stitches but the pattern only counts it as one. And if you’re making a strawberry bobble on every 4th stitch, you are literally doubling your stitch count so obviously it’s going to take longer. I made a similar item about a year ago and boy was it tedious! Just remember that you have put twice as much time into that top. Be proud of yourself for completing it rather than bash yourself for being “slower” 😊🍓

      So it looks to me like she used the original viral pattern (ua-cam.com/video/x-x07CL-D4A/v-deo.html) but instead of using red or green for the single stitches between the strawberries, she used white (in both the red and green rows). Meaning she switched back and forth between red/green and white within each row, going over the top of the color she wasn't using. I've never done this but found a video of how to do it here (ua-cam.com/video/k4B-b2bVi30/v-deo.html). Totally going to try this method and make a hat for my babyyy!!

      @@Sunnshine29 it's a short on UA-cam and all you got to do is put it on the search line strawberry stitch at least a dozen channels whose videos I have saved just because I like somebody's technique and want to compare it to someone else's. Frankly though I like the fact that Jenna's are tilted this way and that because they look more perfect that way than they do all straight lined up in a row. Which I have not seen. And I certainly love that Jenna is so unapologetic that they look organic.

    I love it! I would love a pattern! One thing that I think might make it look a little more balanced and “finished” would be to put a boarder around the arm and neck hole the same as the bottom of the top. That would make the straps a little wider which would balance it better too. You would probably have to make the straps a bit longer though so it wasn’t too high on your neck.

  • @SingingCrowie
    @SingingCrowie Рік тому +1

    I would "frame" the arm holes with a tow of double crochet like at the bottom. It would look more finished and the straps will be wider and more comfortable, right now they probably cut into your shoulders. Also, there are techniques to fix a missed puff stitch, so you could create those missed strawberries to fill in the gap.

    U can fill in strawbs by Starting with Stand up double crochet And go from there to do the strawberry stitch. At least the red part and then you can use a yarn needle and yarn to fake the green if you have to.. Some strawberries are..
    smaller than others.I love the very organic way your strawberries go this way and that. You taught me something the day I watched it. The way you ended up being unapologetic that they were essentially as they may appear if ya came upon a field of them, a little wonky.
    Mikey on The Crochet crowd likes the fact that his stuff looks homemade. He pretty much says that's the point. I want to perfect my stitches and my tension because I would like consistency in my work, But for strawberries I would like a straight stitch but cricket strawberries I don't want my strawberries to look sloppy but they can be lopsided or laying to one side or thuther. I can see how this would help you get on with the project and get it to the finish line, tho.

    That pattern is soooo cooool😭 I made it into a bag as a present for my cousin, she loved it, her parents, our aunt, everyone! I shared this pattern with 3 people already! Bag came out little bit heavy but soooo beautiful! Next week I'll by another bag of red and green to make another 3!!!

    Oh my goodness how amazing! I think you should make a pattern. Also, I think if you make a border around the top edge in white like the bottom edge then the straps would be just a bit thicker and super cute. Oh my goodness amazing.

    For the straps make them green with little leaves coming out of it. Also, my 10 year old daughter said after you make the banana shorts go to a smoothie place and order a strawberry banana smoothie. 😊

    This looks so cute!
    If you make a pattern, you should make it in the round, not flat. So there will be no side seams and people can try it on while crocheting.
