@@anonymousone9699 Yeah i think it's unbalanced because the top is more chunky, so thicker straps would fit better. But who am I to say anything... I can barely crochet a basic scarf xD
The thing you have to keep in mind with bobbles is that they are actually 5 double crochet stitches but the pattern only counts it as one. And if you’re making a strawberry bobble on every 4th stitch, you are literally doubling your stitch count so obviously it’s going to take longer. I made a similar item about a year ago and boy was it tedious! Just remember that you have put twice as much time into that top. Be proud of yourself for completing it rather than bash yourself for being “slower” 😊🍓
So it looks to me like she used the original viral pattern (ua-cam.com/video/x-x07CL-D4A/v-deo.html) but instead of using red or green for the single stitches between the strawberries, she used white (in both the red and green rows). Meaning she switched back and forth between red/green and white within each row, going over the top of the color she wasn't using. I've never done this but found a video of how to do it here (ua-cam.com/video/k4B-b2bVi30/v-deo.html). Totally going to try this method and make a hat for my babyyy!!
@@Sunnshine29 it's a short on UA-cam and all you got to do is put it on the search line strawberry stitch at least a dozen channels whose videos I have saved just because I like somebody's technique and want to compare it to someone else's. Frankly though I like the fact that Jenna's are tilted this way and that because they look more perfect that way than they do all straight lined up in a row. Which I have not seen. You could probably embroider some strawberries to fill the gaps on the sides, right? I think I've seen puffy embroidery techniques that look pretty similar to these crocheted strawberries. It's really cute!
I would LOVE a tutorial/pattern. I really like how you have spaces of cream. You could totally add a single strawb to any project I bet. Like in the corner of a crochet t shirt or sweater. 🍓
It's cute!! I think I prefer how the original has like no spacing in between the strawberries and idk why these here remind me of tomatoes, but it's still so pretty!! Will definitely have to try it!! Though probably as a blanket for me since I am still not good lol. Great work!!
You should totally start a ravelry group. We could follow along with your videos and turn your projects into CALs. Now we all want to make strawberries too!
Wow this turned out great! Who wouldn't want a whole wardrobe of this pattern? I imagine this would look really cool as a jacket as well. And a skirt. And a sweater. And just about anything probably. 😃🍓🍓🍓
I've seen a few people use the strawberry stitch online, but just the stitch. It's so stinking seretonin inducing, and I've been trying to figure out what I want to try making. Nice to see someone actually use for something!
One of the ways you could avoid the side seam issue is to end your rows with all cream, no berries as a type of border, then the armhole situation might be easier too.
looks super cute! congrats, I love how you get started with stuff you love and get it done. I often shy away bc I think it's too hard. you're such an inspiration!
i love it too. there are so many points in the video she could start sounding tired or negative because it's challenging but she just updates, shares thoughts and keeps at it. so much tenacity! truly inspirational 🥰
Wow! That is fruity spectacular crocheting. I would love a lemons one. But the possibilities are endless really. And I know you are so capable. All your ideas turn out so well. Take care Jenna
I love it! I would love a pattern! One thing that I think might make it look a little more balanced and “finished” would be to put a boarder around the arm and neck hole the same as the bottom of the top. That would make the straps a little wider which would balance it better too. You would probably have to make the straps a bit longer though so it wasn’t too high on your neck.
I would "frame" the arm holes with a tow of double crochet like at the bottom. It would look more finished and the straps will be wider and more comfortable, right now they probably cut into your shoulders. Also, there are techniques to fix a missed puff stitch, so you could create those missed strawberries to fill in the gap.
i would love a pattern for this! added this to my future crochet inspo, if i make it i think i’d want it to be similar to your original idea, maybe with thicker straps. good luck with your move jenna!
You should make it again but make it into a halter top where it ties at the top and the back this time! 1.) It'll be faster 2.) You can adjust the size a little bit so its slightly more form fitting 3.) You wont have the white gaps at the sides
This is so cute. The only thing that I would do different is mimic the bottom band for the arm holes and the neck edges. Let the armhole band and the neck band meet and get crocheted together to make your arm straps. I wish I could crochet - it has been my kryptonite when it comes to crafting.
You make me laugh, hahaha. I'd aim for a strawberry potholder to make in one day. I've been crocheting eyes, spiders and skulls. Learning how to, but strawberries are next!! I like the way yours look more spread apart than the tutorial of them mashed side by side. Ooo can't wait to see where you are moving!!
