How to Crochet Strawberry Stitch with a Regular Crochet Hook DIY Tutorial

- In this tutorial video I'll show you how to crochet the strawberry stitch using a regular crochet hook.
Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. The crochet strawberry stitch is a nice 3D textured pattern that works great for a blanket, shawl, scarf, hat, and other handmade items. In a previous tutorial from several years ago I showed how to crochet the strawberry stitch using a Tunisian crochet hook. In this tutorial I'll show you how to make this stitch pattern with just a regular crochet hook. For my sample I'm using 100% worsted weight yarn and a size H 5 mm crochet hook.

These strawberries almost look good enough to eat, right?
Yes I wonder if this can be done as a blanket?
Absolutely it can be done as a blanket 🍓🍓🍓🍓
😂 yeah absolutely Yes... very nice and also cute 🥰... I love it ma'am ❤️ Thank you ❤️ for sharing your wonderful pattern... love 💕 You and God bless you always ma'am ❤️
Donna! They look sooo REAL! I think anyone can be excused for trying to eat them if they were folded in a plate! 😂 😂
Hehe!!!
THIS IS HOW ALL CROCHET TUTORIAL VIDEOS SHOULD BE!!!!! I love that you tell which stitch from the previous row the current stitch is supposed to be in! Too many tutorials don’t do that very simple thing and I always end up messing up somehow. Thank you for the wonderful video, and I will definitely be finding a project to incorporate these adorable strawberries into!
Glad it was helpful!
@@naztaziaawesome BT how to crochet a baby cap with this😢
I’m so glad I found you on Instagram! I recently started teaching crochet to seniors and they always ask me “what’s new this week?” I’m looking forward to sharing this fun stitch with them 🍓😍
Awesome! This one is definitely a fun one!
That’s really lovely , I learnt lots of good fun patterns here . I found crochet be very therapeutic. It’s never too late and my grand parents had dementia and I have watched the places they lived being extremely boring . I offered loacally to go in to crochet with someone I thought it would be nice for someone to teach me and feel useful and enjoy the visit . They eventually said someone from who arranges the activities would call . They never called. I hope you and your ladies have a great time 🙏🏼🥳🌻
I wish I had a “crochet coach!”
Cuuute!!! Marybeth, do you post pictures of their work over on Instagram or any other platform? Just curious, I would love to see what you’ve taught them. Sounds like they are super excited to learn, I bet that’s a lot of fun!
@@katiesbeenyarnifiedNo, I don’t know that I have permission to share their images
I just started this stitch pattern in gold "berries" with silver "caps" as a Christmas tree skirt. Looks like gold ball ornaments! I've already made a hat and scarf set of pink berries for my daughter. It's so very cute!
What a brilliant idea!
That’s such a lovely idea!!! Have you finished it yet? I would love to see how it turned out if you did!
I have the tree skirt finished except for the edging. I'm actually awaiting delivery of the feathery yarn I will use to edge it. I don't have any social media place that I use to put up pictures of such things. I leave all that to younger folk. @@katiesbeenyarnified
Sounds beautiful
I saw this video, directly went to the store to pick up red and green yarn and now I‘m done with my little strawberry bag 🍓 Thank you so much! Its so adorable and cute!
Wonderful!
Thats exactly what I am doing
How many initial loops did you put on your initial chain to make your strawberries purse sized?
did you just make two sheets of the same size then stitch them together?
I feel like that might be the easiest way since it has to be in multiples of 4…
Your tutorial is amazing. This is how all tutorials should be: clear, concise, audible, and clean video resolution.
Glad it helped! Thank you for the kindness!
i absolutely love how quickly and clearly you give these instructions. i have trouble watching some tutorials because they go way too slow. this is amazing!
Thank you!
This is actually a perfect tutorial- I’m struggling with the pattern of all the strawberries I’ve tried and these tips are also super helpful, because I was also having issues with growing rows so this is exactly what I needed thank you
Glad it was helpful!
That's lovely! I like the bubble effect. You could actually use it in just one colour to make something like a pouch bag. Thanks!
Anyone else mesmerized by her beautiful nails? lol I had to watch twice because I kept looking at her nails wondering if I could get mine done.
This is a great tutorial! I just realized from watching this video i don't do a proper single crochet stitch. I had a hard time learning from books, so I just taught myself. But this tutorial makes perfect sense with the visual. Thank you so much!
I don't know how and where you come up with these stitches but THIS ONE Donna, is SOMETHING ELSE entirely. Absolutely amazing! 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾 💐! Please keep rolling out these tutorials with these stunning stitches I have never seen before! 🤯 👍🏾
Thank you so much!

been asked to make a baby blanket for a girl, hoping this will work out well for a blanket! So cute! Thank you!
You’re welcome 😊
Did it end up working for a blanket?
@@retrotween3066 Yes, but a bit of a yarn eater, not as bad as some though. Did this one and the ice cream cone one.
How many skeins of yarn did it take?
How big did you make it?
This would make the cutest towel topper.
I don't even know how to crochet and I understood this tutorial. Great job!!
Your videos Donna are so clear and money saving in terms of data. It's like fast food but a healthy one of course
Thank you so much!
@@naztaziathank you but I need the pattern please thank you
My niece would absolutely go crazy if I made her one of these! I’m going to do blush pink for the strawberries because it should match her room a little better, but this is such a fab piece!
Was able to complete this successfully the first try first watch with this video. Fantastic instructions, beautiful stitch pattern using very few, very basic stitches. I am in love with the confidence boost I got from trying this.
i also love how you clearly indicate which stitches to go into!!!

I absolutely adore that yarn. You teach so well btw❤
Thank you! 😊
I love your comment: "If all went well, you'll end with 3 single crochet stitches." 😄 Thankfully, I did. Your instructions are clear, easy to understand. Your camera view and speed are spot-on so I can easily see where to do what.
I would have liked to have had you walk us through one more row of the red, is the only suggestion I have.

Yes!! Thank you! I don't have a Tunisian hook so I will definitely give this a try!
Hi you can use regular crochet hook, doesn’t have to be Tunisian. It’s just the green row on top that uses a Tunisian style stitch.
So glad I found your tutorial. You make it simple & easy to follow for this beginner.
Glad it was helpful!
