- Lets make a 1/12th scale kitbash Mechanic Droid out of a Gundam model kit!
This is fun DIY kitbash collaboration project kicked off by Boylei Hobby Time, the diy challenge was to make a kitbash 1/12th scale droid. Having just come back from Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland I was inspired by a garage with Star Wars vehicles in it and I thought I should make a droid mechanic from a Gundam model and other bits I had laying around. I also set out to make an epic (at least for me) diorama.
This was a fun build with some amazing makers so be sure to check out their builds as well!

That turned out amazing. I loved the details like the star fighter on the shelf. Your positivity makes this all seem so approachable. You’ve inspired me to try a loft of crafts recently. My local dollar store probably owes you a commission.

Wow, I missed the mini Jedi fighter on the wall the first time, had to go back and find it after reading this comment. Great catch Daniel! There is just SO much going on with this diorama, in a good way. I really love the yellow mechanical panel and the tool "pegboard" most of all.

Its little things like this that make for a great diorama. I remember a games workshop one back in the 90s that even months later I was spotting little background things.

That came out AWESOME! The droid is really cool, though with the long a torso I would have worked in another set of arms for him. Love that he's jamming out to a Walkman while working.
The workshop diorama really takes this over the top, all of the details everywhere are amazing. You should be really proud of that workbench, I've built a couple irl, and yours looks perfect!
Off to finish my way through the rest of the collab videos, there is a couple I haven't heard of before so should be fun! Great stuff, thanks for sharing, stay safe and keep on keeping on!!
Thanks Earl. After I finish a project I always think about all the additional things I could have/should have done but this was on a time crunch (plus I only had the one set of Gundam arms 😂).

Hi there, love your stuff! Could you suggest a primer to buy? I'd love to try building something!
So I just use the gray Rustolium from Home Depot... nothing fancy.
what is the glue you use?
The glue that I found works best for me is BSI Insta-Cure and I use the medium gap fill. You can buy it on Amazon prime or eBay for about $10-$15.
Whar paint did you use
I Just use spray paint from Home Depot and Citadel hobby paint for the smaller detail stuff.
What Brand of Primer do you use
I normally just use Rustolium primer from Home Depot. I think thats what I used on this...
Good choice I like there pkastic metal Primer as well

Off of a broken action figure someone gave me... I don't remember what the figure was though...

This my Idea for Boyle hobby time doild
Story idea a rebel not like crash on Dagobah but as there was no sign of teachongy he became weaker and weaker so used bits of Y Wing and other doild parts he made arms and legs his staff is the KX5 of the Y Wing he has sent many calls for help he evenaty fould a robe of dead Jedi inside a hut he wears as a cape now still holding hope someone will save him
