Quite possibly the world's most perfect rock n Roll sing! Their ability to smash together so many interesting musical elements and create a cohesive flowing piece of art is truly astonishing! When you do hear the live version, you will see Kanami pit on a precision guitar playing clinic as she hits every one of those intricate tapping notes dead on. She is so AMAZING! Thanks again for another great reaction and remember: Life is BETTER with BAND-MAID! 🤘🤩🤘
This song is sometimes called the "homework" song, as Kanami sent a request to each band member to come up with part of a song and send it to her. Then she crafted the pieces into this masterpiece! MISA has said she came up with her part while she was a bit drunk and wasn't sure she could repeat it after she heard it, but we know now she can!
"Far away Take me somewhere far away" I think that is so very beautiful coming from the highly frenetic rock song into that poignant phrase of longing. This band. This magnificent band. BandMaid is not just another band. To me they are little little inching into the territory of the Beatles as far as composition. Incredible musicians.
If you like anime, check out their latest OMV "Protect you". It's the ending song for the mecha anime "Grendizer U", and it's a very tight and amazing song.
This song was written for those kids who stay indoors all the time on their own and never step out to fulfill their potential. Kids who dream of girls like this calling them to action.
@@RustySabita miku, when she writes lyrics, shows a real understanding of her audience. She always wants to say something important to them without being corny or preachy. .
Reminds this old man of 1986. Just a crushing guitar solo. I was in the Marines at that time and spent alot of time on the strip up by L.A. Kanami would fit right in with all of those great guitar players. In fact I would put the Maids up against almost anyone. So much talent
I think it's funny (and totally cool) how people recognize the sound or feeling of a band/song/musical genre in Band-Maid that coincides with the music they are a fan of. Gen X hears either 70s rock or 80s hard rock, Millennials hear pop-punk/Emo from the late 90s or early 2000s, younger Millennials hear Paramore or Avril Lavigne. You know you're an amazing band when you remind people of all the good music they grew up on. And no one is more amazing than our Maids!
"Blooming" was not used in an anime that I know of, but it was used in an action thriller based in Japan titled "Kate". "Choose Me" was also used in the film during a nightclub scene with Band-Maid performing.
*BAND MAID!* This song falls in the love it category for me.. 2 solo's, high energy, Akane's tom work is fantastic, Saiki spitting lyrics out like a machine gun *at times* 😀 🤘❤🔥🤘
To see some real difference in the Maids ability, may I suggest you take a look at the double live video of 'Manners/Black Hole'. Both songs will assault your musical senses, but in different ways.
Thank you for your reaction. A masterpiece imo. The maids do slower songs, check out Daydreaming, official MV, for a great song. On MVs vs live, it simply depend on case by case. Sometimes mixing on the omv makes that you can’t hear all instruments just as well, sometimes live does not give you a very good mix either. Blooming has a good mix on the MV. Have fun! :)
Since you mentioned it...they have a deep and diverse portfolio, so you should try a different side of Band-Maid. "Daydreaming" OMV is a rock ballad masterpiece. My favorite song from the Maids and in an interview, Kanami mentioned it's her favorite song to play. Blooming is my #2 song. Then there are like 50 songs competing for #3. Thank you for continuing to support the Maids on their quest for world domination! PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
I have a suggestion for you to nullify the live video or music video debate. How about reacting to both versions (Official Music Video and Official Live Video) of the song Don't You Tell ME. It would make a great double header reaction. And yes, the two versions are different enough to warrant watching both of them. The OMV showcases some of the Maids individual personalities (ie. Akane eating, Misa drinking, Miku doing omajinai over the food, Kanami fawning over Saiki, Saiki pushing her away and being regal, etc...). The OLV at Yokohama Arena has an added guitar vs bass duel. I would suggest that you start with the OMV and follow with the OLV. You won't be disappointed!
The guitar technique is called tapping. And yes, their songs often have that catchy chorus. That they can do this and still be appreciated by musicians and people into technique is what sets them apart. One of many things ❤️🔥🤘Oh, and they opened for Guns and Roses a couple of years ago.
It's true most of the time Live Band-Maid is the only way to go, but there are very few acceptions Blooming is one of them. Manners is one you have to do the Official Music Video, and "LIVE" Manners/Black Hole yes they are both that different and really good!😊
The tone in the guitar solo of "Blooming" reminds me somewhat of the solo in the MV of "Paradise City" by Guns n' Roses... but if you ever had the chance to compare the MV version with any rendition of Slash playing that solo live, then you will have doubts that Slash played it in the studio. 😐 I personally have no doubts that Kanami as guitarist is on a higher level than Slash. 😉
The Ladies will always maintain their time signature, (Not Really - Kanami has been known to change it up half way through a line, use it for 4 bars then change back to the original time signature [see Onset and it going from 4/4 to 5/4, then back to 4/4]) But seriously the Ladies use of quarter time, half time, standard, and double time within a song draws the ear. I think they have used time and half in At the drop of hat, but I'm not 100% sure. And Kanami has a formula and while it is "Formulaic" it ISN'T repetitive, like so many other bands. And she went from trem picking to tapping with hammer ons and pull offs.
One of the few times I would say watch the mv. You get the impact of Kanami going full guitar hero. Just a ripping solo. The mv for Shambles will take your head off. The Maids go full metal on that one.
Solo? Didn't you hear MISA playing her own solo under Kanami's? Also, BM does not evoke Anime. it only recently that they've solicited for anime themes. They are beyond groups like X Japan or L'arc en Ciel.
Well, the intro to the song did evoke that for me. Notbafyer that.. If not for you, then that's okay, but I am not you. Different person, different opinion.
No matter what, each version gives a different take on the song. Enjoy each one! Others have said that they sound "anime", probably due to the cultural difference in music as well as the Japanese musician penchant for including many styles and motifs into one song. Band Maid does this very well, pop vocals and heavier instruments.
I love this song... it's a top 3 song for me in their catalog (Manners and FREEZER) being the other two. I love Hate? and that live duel is great, but I just prefer those whole songs more. I don't really pay attention to lyrics, even in english songs. I'm all about the melody and sound, so this just sends me to a happy place when I hear it.
They were probably stifled in their relationship with their previous label, since it took them so long to let them write their own material. At least what was written for them was high enough quality to attract other labels interest. And yes, they can show off, but they always do it tastefully so it serves the song. They're not a Showoff Noodle Meister band like LOVEBITES, thank God! So please, don't talk during solos. Someone might send you the Kanami T-Shirt. "Shut Up! Kanami is speaking".

My #1 favourite Band-Maid song, and 2nd favourite Kanami solo after 'Daydreaming'. Absolute masterpiece.

No, they do mellow, for us Maidiacs at least. Try About Us, Memorable, Endless Story, or any of the acoustics.
Everyone in this song is awesome, but the vocals - both Saiki and Miku - are on another level, with the way they harmonize and interweave.
It’s flowing, that what you may wanted to say. Everything is logical.
