Thanks for the reaction and comments. Their stage presence is at a level most bands only dream of ever achieving. Keep watching their live performances and you’ll concur that they are arguably the best live rock band on the planet. Best band ever. Play is a good one that gives you a little bit of everything. This is actually just the beginning of a very deep rabbit hole. I am old enough that I've seen Pink Floyd live in the 80s. Now 90% of my playlist is Japanese bands.

This song actually has a special intro but they cut it due to unknown reasons. I suggest you buy their Blu-ray of this concert. I can guarantee you that you won't be disappointed
The TONE of their guitars and bass gets me every time. Also, how about a double-header? Do a studio and then the live version? "Real Existence" has a good video and live set, for example. So does Manners and Puzzle. 🤘

@@RustySabita There is their 1 hour set at Lollopalooza festival last year on YT, which is good for celebrating 1k! There'll always be a ton of interset in anything Band-Maid or any of the other top class female Metal and Rock bands in Japan - Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie...there's a lot of them, which is why I haven't looked at Western Metal and Rock for decades, apart from the excellent The Warning (3 sisters from Mexico who I saw in Cardiff in April and who will get a lot of interested fans looking at your channel).
@tonygriffin_ I got most of those bands to check out at a later time, but I did my first The Warning last week, and it was banging! I'm recording my 2nd one now for tomorrow. 🙌
It starts so fast because they never stopped playing after the previous song Dice but just continued right into HATE?. Though to be fair Band-Maid often starts with a bang.
This band is one of those rare gems where their live performances outshine their studio work ( even though that's top notch) and part of this is that this band does not shy away from hard work and over the last decade they've played their hearts out in pubs, clubs, dives and are now deservedly getting to the bigger stages. Talk about honing your craft, what a fcken band Po 👍🍻
Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year. Very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter 😄)

Despite the dual vocal glories of Miku Kobato and Saiki Atsumi and the mind blowing forces of nature of MISA and Kanami Tono pushing their instruments into a hurricane of sound; I say , despite all this magnifcence, this song is dominated by the Happy Beast of Banana destruction ~ Akane Hirose. Her drums sound like the Mongul hoard galloping across the steppes to conquer the known world! Who wins? We win!!

I'm not sure how many videos of Band-Maid you've done already, but I will help you with the names and the phonetics... 😉 The Maidiacs can be brutal if you continuously butcher the names.

Miku (MEE-ku) - Rhythm Guitar, Lyrics, Miku's Magic Time, Everyone's favorite Pigeon (Cluppo (KLU-poh), Released Music Under The Same Name
Kanami (kah-NAHM-ee) - Lead Guitar, Piano, Keyboards, Composer, a.k.a. Mincho (MEEN-cho)
MISA (MEE-zuh) - Bass, a.k.a. The Barefoot Assassin (Don't touch her liquor), the closest thing to John Entwistle I have heard
Akane - Drums, Loves Bananas, a.k.a. The Gorilla (Half- Human, Half-Gorilla... 100% Akane!)
Band-Maid is much more Hard Rock than Heavy Metal. They cross many genres, and the ballads will pierce your soul, but if you like a harder sound, they have a lot to choose from. I would suggest you check out Shambles (Live) from this same concert. There 4 or 5 videos from this show, which was the finale of their 10th Anniversary tour in 2023. There are so many Band-Maid songs I could request. If you have that many songs to react to, I'll wait until you need another song to react to.
Hate? is the new “go-to” jam to wow new reactors, and it does that job very well! It’s not necessarily a better song than others of theirs, although I like it better than Domination.
That’s the thing about Band Maid: their catalog is so deep, and so strong, that great songs can actually be in the bottom half of someone’s personal rankings.
Domination is great but for me it’s probably in the lower half because there’s so many other great songs I like a little more. You should try “Endless Story” from this same live performance to hear a different side of the group, and to get a feeling for how they love the fans as much as we love them.
Domination awas also a great song. It's on the channel as well if you haven't seen it yet.
I get you as well as catalogue so deep that any of their good song won't make the top 20, which I'm excited about. Means more fantastic tracks for me to listen to.
With the song being called “Hate” I always think of the guitar/bass battle as a breakup argument. They it’s like they’re yelling at each other, sometimes mimicking what the other says, eventually breaking down to the point where they’re both shouting at each other at the same time. Then Kanami wins out in the end.
Obviously they actually love each other in reality, but I don’t think Saiki hates me either… probably.

I'm going to say 'onset' or 'from now on'. Both are instrumentals they do so Saiki can rest her voice in the middle of a show.. Both songs are absolutely amazing. 🙂

Another great reaction Master Rusty. This is one of the great things about going to their Okyu-ji's (translates to "Servings", what the Maids call their live performances), you get added or extended solos and intros. It's just a little something something they do for the Masters and Princesses who show up to rock with them. PO!🕊
As for suggestions:
"Daydreaming" MV an awesome rock ballad, which will show you another side of Band-Maid.
"From Now On" MV or "Onset" OLV are instrumentals showcases, with a WOW factor through the roof.
"Blooming" MV a masterpiece in composition. A homework assignment from Kanami (Lead Guitar and genius composer) to the other Maids. Which she then weaved into this masterpiece.
"Manners" and "Blackhole" OLV A two-for which again shows their diversity. Bluesy/groovy "Manners". Heart pounding organized chaos of their currently fast bpm (220 bpm) song Black Hole
"Secret My Lips" MV and "Secret Maiko Lips" MV Although not in one video, a back to back two-for would totally make sense. The first by Band-Maid and the second by the cover band Band-Maiko. Only the Maiko's are one of the few bands who can go head to head with the Maids. Funny how they are never in the same room together. 🤔🤭

That little duel between Misa's bass and Kanami's guitar is one of the main reason this gets so many requests, it's the main reason I added my suggestion to the tally.
Ok, I'll suggest again, lol. "Thrill" is an older song that got them going and saved the band.

Brilliant! Writing down the recommendations gives you a great overview of the strongest material.
26 songs is enough to get a grasp of what the Maids are capable of and how versatile they are. However, they have no less than 40-50 legitimate, superbly crafted and executed songs.
(For perspective, “Hate?” isn’t even in my top 40. That speaks to just how inconceivably strong their catalog is.
Goosebumps and chills are a natural side effect of Maid magic. There are songs I’ve heard dozens of times that still get me.
Here are my top 10 songs today. Making this list was quite traumatic as I was forced to leave out some ridiculously great music.

The Warning arrived 2 weeks ahead of the show so we are expecting some forms of collaboration. It's going to be an awesome show.. You should listen to Maximum the Hormone. They’re Japanese as well and served as inspiration for many of these Japanese bands (their female drummer inspired the drummer of Band-Aid).
I would say Yoshu Fukushu is one of their best songs and the most shocking one is ALIEN

Just a shot in the dark, but, just perhaps, their lyrical, compositional, arranging, and technical skills -- as well as their rapport with their audience -- might contribute to their being such a good live band...you know, talent and all....

@@RustySabita Well. you saw your position a being an obvious "given", where as I held a different viewpoint (I can enjoy The Stooges' "I Wanna Be Your Dog" -- it doesn't make the piece significant as art, not The Stooges the technical equals of Rush [or, stated another way, I may enjoy [and recommend] both a cheeseburger and haute cuisine -- that doesn't mean that both are examples of gifted culinary execution]). My comment was as I stated it (which i thought was done is a very straightforward manner). I assume, at this point, that both of us have had our say, and we can all go to breakfast now
