format works very well -- the 10mins acts like a self editor. Keeps the momentum without losing the detail.

This might be the series that finally converts me to a Caro-Kann player. LETS GO MUSCLE MAN ❤

caro kann is a wonderful opening. although i find is sometimes scary versus players that have tricky lines, like the tal variation, or taking the queen early to a5. But except tricky lines it usually yields solid games, and if the opponent isnt familiar with the opening it can create easy conversions.

The trickiest line I face is the gambit on f3

I like the new format. Game 1 your opponent wasted a lot of time. Time in chess is something that I really don't get it yet. Maybe sometime you could do a video with examples of what it actually is and why it's important. Just a thought. I guess he made the typical mistakes at that level. He totally blocked his DSB and the e2 pawn. Then comes the major blunder of the queen. After watching the 2nd game, I'm not sure you're going to be able to continue to comment on your moves just because it will be much harder against the higher competition. I think you are the one of the best channels explaining each move. I have learned a lot!. Plenty of people have tried offering me draws when losing, I usually make the game last as long as I want just to punish them for trying that bullspit! I love it! Can't wait to see you play it as white.

We'll see how the 10 minute format continues, if I need to switch to 15 minute then I will but I'd like to see how 2 10 min games works for the time being I think

Not everyone who watches contents like yours is necessarily looking for "education" or trying to get better in chess. Some watch it for entertainment. I have heard of GMs (like Danya) and even super GMs (like Hikaru) comment on much lesser rated chess players like Eric "oh-no-my-queen" Rosen or Levy "da-rook!" Rozman. They think it's entertaining to watch other streamers for a change. I heard Kramnik will watch other streamers as well even though he thinks everyone else is a bonfire cheater.
Your channel has entertainment factor because you are so British about how you play, but also, how you explain your British thought process very well.
Levy is one of the most successful streamers not because he's the best player but because of his personality. I would guess some of your followers don't even play competitive chess. I certainly don't. In my specific case, I like watching your videos because you have a good balance of education and content. Your games are in my level of play, or so I would like to think.

Cheers for the insight man, ig I started the channel with the goal of education but maybe it's a mix of entertainment and education then

Yikes, well the analysis will be better than the game, game 1 was like a bear walking up to a bear trap and sticking its pawn in to see what it does.
Game 2 was better, but you rolled over him. Instead of moving the q-knight to c6 what about Ng4.
Ne5 and its lights out, correct.

    • @ChessCenturion

Game 1 was a weird one, my opponent just didn't understand the middle game plans, game 2 was very intense and I could've played it more accurately but I liked the openness of the centre

@@ChessCenturion The Ghost is the Caro Kann but you play a6 first which will give white another chance to play Nf3 so you can pin it right away. Works equally well for both e4 and d4. It's a stronger Caro and a stronger Slav at the same time.
