What a way to start a sailing fashion show: Sophie and Anett bundled and layered up for very cold wet weather! Very informative session. With the exception of worrying about getting sprayed by very cold water up North, seems very similar to layering up for hiking or downhill skiing... Thanks again!
You two interact beautifully. Great wearable gear walk through 🔆
Beautiful, charming, and friendly. Thank y’all for sharing.
What a coincidence! I’m standing in the middle of my sons room, surrounded by clothes!!! We’re leaving NY, after the closing on our house, on Tuesday. Yes, right after the nor’easter passes by. Packing years worth of clothes to put in storage, donate, and what to bring?!?! So much easier packing for the boys X3 than myself. I also am sensitive to cold, so thank you for this very helpful and right on time video. ❤️⛵️
Lovely video! Great sense of humour and I liked the foredeck catwalk :-)! Completely agree about staying warm in colder climates the answer is Wool and more wool, lasts for ever and doesn't smell (within reason :-)!) goves and boots are also really important!
Awesome video! Ice breakers have been a life saver for me living on our boat in Vancouver Canada for two winters! We are headed for warmer waters now, hopefully I will need the ice breakers less. The thing I would add is a hot water bottle to tuck into my jacket or bibs. 🔥
Very interesting Sophie and Anett. Thanks for sharing.
We bought our first several sets of Smartwool socks over 20 years ago and on a three week trip to the Scottish Highlands it was wonderful to have them
Thanks for taking the time to advise what to wear in different sailing climates. So helpful. David
Thank you Annette and Sophie for your wonderful demonstration of sailing attire. I have to go sailing again soon after a 25 year gap and it was good to be reminded of having the suitable layers to have to survive comfortably at sea. Fair sailing, SkipRay, Kerry.
Wet Suits are a Must ! Great Video as always y'all. Keep up the Great work! :)
Just a note - while fun, pom-poms on a toque/beanie/watch cap get seriously in the way of a hood on a parka or jacket.
I don’t have any supplies anymore but I really enjoyed the show. My grandkids are getting into sailing now so I will be visiting you in the future
You know what I find really nice is to have two sets of foul weather gear? It is nice to have a dry set but I know this is an expensive option. BTW you guys look very cute in this video!
Great info. Thank you
Thank you for this funny video the catwalk is so great and made me really laugh . You are so cute.
I would say that a shimagh worn in certain configurations can take the place of the neck gator. It can keep your head and neck warm and dry (mostly), while being light enough that it usually doesn't interfere with layering. I used to wear mine with a set of bibs and a hoodie, when cleaning barns and hauling hay/water in 10F (-12C) weather and stayed extremely warm.
Because of their design they'll take a lot of spray and drizzle before becoming "wet". They also tend to dry fairly quickly. I usually lay mine out before bed and it is dry by the time I wake up.
We're definately throwing our name in the hat for the Gill jacket. Unfortunately the one we bought for my wife had the white inner lining completely disintegrate about 9 months after we bought it and it leaks like a seive now. No idea why and it's too bad because it's super comfy and, other than the lining, it appears to be very well made. Fingers crossed!!! Great breakdown on the gear ladies!!!
Sophie what was the brand of your shorts and also those boots? I really like those.
Great informative vid as usual. I always look forward to them.
Can you ladies explain why, when we go away for a long weekend on my yacht to Ostend my daughter takes FIVE pairs of shoes, when she can only walk a maximum of 31 feet before she would fall in the water. When we get to Ostend she then goes -- yeah you guessed it-- SHOE SHOPPING😯.
I will not comment on the dozens of pairs of knickers she takes, because My wife refuses to let me question her on that one.
Good one, girls!
SO informative, thank you. Sophie, I think you're gorgeous but I might be a little bit in love with Anett.
i do like having my drysuit (yeah i grew up as a dinghy sailor) for anywhere with big waves and cold and driving rain you stay dry. You can add more gear on top, just need to plan to pee about 30 mins on advance. I suppose an immersion suit would be better but thats alot of wonga for not much more functionality.
I think I'll stick to the Caribbean. Shorts and a rashguard.
I was disappointed that Ryan wasn’t part of this fashion show. 😁
What was the second rain layer, not the expensive foul weather jacket but the grey one. Who makes and sells that jacket? I like it. Tommy
Good information, you both are funny.
Thanks Ken ❤
Love that spunky fashion show 🤪👍
Nice!
Thanks for the “Fashion Show”👍 But Actually is Very Important, cuz yer spending Lots of Money preparing the Boat & ya will find yer Personal Comfort is such a small price Overall…Continue to Stay Safe & Enjoy😎
What is really needed are the strings that is required by mitts that run through the inside of the jackets and clip on to the mitts so you don’t loose the mitts when you take them off. OR clip on points for the mitts on the sleeve ends of jackets. I have seen enough bad/cold weather mitts and gloves with clips so why not place clip on points on the sleeve end so you don’t loose them. Maybe Annette can suggest it to her industry contacts. Just a thought from a person that has dropped and lost enough gloves at work during bad weather.
Where did you get those big lobsterman’s gloves?
OK, what are those sailing boots, cuz they are definitely a bit more stylish than my xtra tuffs, which I love for just the first hour or 2 because they absolutely do not breath at all. 2:39
Yes - I need to know this too.
