@@aaanton11 No problem, noticed when doing the job on Sat that there was a small beading of oil at bottom of gearbox, it didn't look red but not sure. Any thoughts? Also I have read that these cars have a problem with the dual mass flywheel have you had any problems?
Great video and fantastic tutorial.
Gotta have a laugh as well whfn learning 😂

good thing all this applies to the Volvo D2 engines, for which there are hardly any videos out there.
Yes all the Same, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Spot on video mate, I'll crack on with mine, if I'm honest a strange place to put an oil filter housing
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Well explained 💯🔥
Glad you think so! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Please but I just finished mine but the engine blog on the dashboard still on
Excellent
Thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻🛠
The best socket you can use is the 27 mm deep socket i already changed and it did work like a charm🙂
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks so much.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Really well done video even I might have a go I have a2017 Focus Titanium TDCI.Would everthing be the same. The only thing I would suggest Id'e leave the cover off untill finished so you can see from underneath if there are any leaks.
very similar, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
You are a funny one. Entertaining videos are still your skill. I’m stunned. Have a good time
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thank you for the video!
If this helps anyone and you have a tool that lets you customize the torque; as per Ford, the oil filter (~10:30) should be mounted with a torque of 25Nm
Thanks for the great information 👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great explanation and thanks, made my effort a lot more easier, and cheaper, Thanks again
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thank you very much for all you vid about this car ! it helps me a lot ! I am trying to change my fuel injector. Did you made any vid about it ? Thank man !
Not yet, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Yes, clear, thorough and good humoured.
I don’t know about the jacking position on a Focus but shouldn’t you add a stand in the vey unlikely event of jack failure?
Perhaps he did but just didn’t mention it.
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Your videos are absolutely fantastic, you have taught me so much and given me the confidence to do maintenance on my own Focus 1.6 tdci, a quick question, do these engines come with a dpf? I'm not sure how to check on mine, many thanks
Yes pretty much all diesels made after 2010 have a def fitted,Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 Thank you very much for your reply, I'm going to use Castrol Magnatec (A5) start/stop fully synthetic 5W 30, I've read others have used it with no probs but also read it's to be used in cars without DPF?
Great job,but how about wheel chocks and axle stands before getting under please
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Its always a job to get the old filter out of the plastic housing...you have to give it a really hefty tug to get it out...always lubricate the o ring with clean engine oil before u screw the filter in....Bob...Paignton......
Thanks Bob for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks for the video. How do I reset the service light with a start/stop button? 2011 mondeo, same engine. Thanks
I will look into it Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
i dont remember them taking my air box out ever getting my oil changed in focus.. could you still get to it from the bottom?
Maybe a slightly different engine, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Brilliant video, covered everything that was needed! Unfortunately I've had the yellow exclamation light come on after driving down the road for a bit following the oil change. Any ideas what this could be at all? Possibly overfilled the oil? Message read "service_" I think and the car goes into limp mode. Cheers!
re check the oil level, and brake fluid level, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
You might want to read the side of the filter. It tells you how to install it. It needs to be installed correctly in order for it to work properly. Never reuse the old old on the new filter. Use fresh oil to seat the gasket. And also once the gasket makes contact it should only be hand tightened to the spec on the filter. Now as far as the vise grips, they damage your handle on the ratchet. Use a breaker bar or a longer ratchet or a short pipe. I feel like some people could get into trouble over tightening the filter or the drain plug.
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi. Great video!
On my Ford focus 2010 1,6 tdci, the clamps for the air intake are unfortunately one time use. Meaning i have to go out and by some new clamps when changing it. Any chance know the pipe clamp sizes for the air intake? :)
A cable tie will work as it is low pressure, ie before the turbo, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi have u any videos on the auto stop start. I am having a problem with my one it go's in the stop start stops great and then asks for a manual start any idea why its doing that
Usually, its when something has broken the cycle, ie removal of the seat belt, or a door opening, you might have a faulty sensor, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Sweet! Is it okay for the 1.5/1.6 turbo to mildly whistle post 2k to 3k RPM, a very mild one though. Would love to hear your thoughts
you might have a small air leak from a pipe or the intercooler, like a stone chip, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
When you put everything back in place please just remember to fit the filter first back into the hole and then the cap 🙂
Thanks george for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
george georgel , is it wrong to fit it into the cap first?
Not really! Filter in cap, oil in the middle of the filter to have less oil starvation on crank up. Just be careful to fit in properly.
Just seen ( after my comment) that this jack incorporates a stand by locking it, so I withdrew my remark. Except to say it does deserve a mention….
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Gret video anton, what year focus was this ? thanks
2012 model I think, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video mate, just bought a Focus 2014 1.6tdci titanium. I'm noticing when I release the clutch I hear a whining noise sometimes any ideas what this could be?
sounds like the gearbox might be a little noisy, you will get a slight noise but if it is really noticeable, its not normal, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Either that or release bearing maybe?
nice video and informative , I noticed the engine on the focus it look similar to Volvo v50 the same oil filter and fuel filter ,i have Volvo v50 2011 the intercooler hose split on driver side I'm having a difficult to have access to the bottom clip to change it . do you have any idea the best way to access it ? thank you
Remove the under tray and tackle it from below, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 thankyou I will give it a try . I did managed to squeeze my hand from the bottom very very tight space
How do you rate them mark 3 diesel ford focus 1.6 tdci do they have many problems
They are as good as the rest, I don't think anyone makes a bad engine anymore, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Nice video mate !, only 1 remark, isn't this the type of engine wich had a small oil filter in the oil feed line of the turbo ? And if it clogged, it could destroy your turbo because of low oil pressure ? Is it this type of engine ?
I Have not come across this issue on this model, but you might be correct, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I tried draining the oil today on the same car but the bolt doesn’t seem to want to come off, it just keeps turning, any advice?
thats not good, the threads must be stripped, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Is this same engine as the bmax and are they any good
they are great when they are working lol, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi. If I have start/stop button do i have to rest oli change? If yes could you please explain how? Kind regards.
are you getting the service message, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11
I haven't changed the oil yet. But i have to. I was
wondering how it works after the change
because there is no
ignition position. Thank you for your answer.
Not sure if I've located filter properly and seal can I take filter out without dropping oil,it screwed right down easily and no leaks
Well done, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 decided to drain new oil and correct the filter and refill all good now
У меня Форд смакс такм двигателем. После длительной стоянки, при запуске лампочка давления масла горит 3-4 секунды. Это нормально или нет?
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Very informative, do all diesels need priming or is it just this model of car? Seems like a tedious messy job
Sorry this was meant to be for your fuel filter change video
All diesel fuel filters need priming, some are self priming and work better than this model, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I followed this to the letter and according to my manual my 1.6 duratorq TDCI takes 3.8 litres, after filling up with fresh oil now the oil light comes on when waiting at lights but goes off when I pull away? dip stick measure is correct whats going on there?
if oil pressure light is on at engine idle, you will have low oil pressure, or a faulty sensor, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 I rechecked oil filter and it wasnt seated properly so put another one in, now its fine with no oil light coming on, job done.
Ment to change the filter before put the sump plug back in
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Quick question , ive got a 2015 connect with the 1.6 tdci , at what mileage should the service lights come on ? Ive only done 12000 miles in 2 years and nothings come up yet , tho ive had a full service done as i didnt want to leave it . Great video's mate !
usually 20000miles, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 thanks for replying fella
DAMMIT!!! if its that easy it looks like im gonna hav to do it myself and get my hands a little dirty and save myself a load of cash #noexcuses thx for the vid...great info for all gonna hav to drop a sub ;)
Thanks Kenny for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
It's a 27m socket
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Does not make sense to have a sump hole dimpled in` where the bolt goes, So much of the bad bits you need out would settle around the dimpled area,
What engineer design this, Don`t understand why oil filter was not taken of be for oil change or does it not matter,
Is there a replacement sump that does not have this dimple to where the bolt goes,
owe by the way thanks for showing the method
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Is this the duratorq engine mate?
its a Peugeot engine, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hello. i'm not sure about the 4.5 liter of oil. Every description I've read says 3.8 litres of oil (Talking about the 1.6 tdci duratorq 84.5 kWh (115HP) from 2011 february till 2014 october). Could your respond to it please ? :)
It’s a really easy one, use the dipstick, when the level is correct job done, don’t get hung up on numbers, thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 The problem with the dipstick method is that it takes quite a long time for the oil to drip down into the oil pan. And if you aren't aware, you can easily overfill it.
It's the glugs that spill the oil. Why can't we have anti-glug pourers?
it would be nice😂 Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
this the same as the C20 1.6d 2006 ?
yes very similar, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 Thanks M8 iv got to tackle this on the weekend ,Il Subscribe to you
Sump of this engine have a big desing flaw
Thats why it is black immediately after changing oil.
on the other hand if the sump plug falls out, there is a small amount in the base of the sump that might save your engine, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 Search this video on YT: "Bundkar modificeres 1.6 hdi"
Oil filter should go in first then you put the cap
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I thought the 1.6 Diseal had 3.8 litres of oil ?
keep an eye on the dipstick, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 hahaha will do buddy, great content m8, just got myself a mk3 focus so I will be following your channel
I'm more shocked about the fact you folks have a 1.6L turbo diesel engine available in your focus, here in Canada, we have 2.0 N/a, or a turbo gas engine in the higher end models, ST, RS, but no diesels, I want a diesel
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Mini is a BMW engine
