- Oh yes, the Devilman. My favorite manga of all time has been given a couple of different animated installments, but the closest to the original manga are the 90's OVA's that were done, and Amon: Apocalypse of Devilman. All three OVA's are pretty messed up, so let's break 'em down, shall we?!

Did you know Xenoblade 3 Moebius are based on Devilman and demon designs.
No wonder I love the Xeno series in general.
Out of all the classic Manga creators who have sadly passed in recent years.
Dragon Ball, Berserk, Yugioh and Tokyo Mew Mew.
It's a miracle that we still have Go Nagai still alive and kicking into his late 70s.
I'll always take hilarious 90s edgy English dubs like Devilman OVAs over whatever the hell Funimation was doing before they got shut down. I recommend the Violence Jack OVAs.

I started with Crybaby and have been watching videos like yours to learn more. Also, Ryo with his shades on and pre-devilman Akira look like Quatro and Kamile.
Wow... that was alot more grim dark then I was originally expecting. I knew it was going to be really dark but holy crap was that worse then I was prepared for listening to. It might surpass Berserk's grim darkness in some fronts. Too much for me to handle. Dang the Akame Ga Kill manga is less then nothing compared to this.
What do you think about reviewing Tenchi Muyo? That is another 90s anime that I heard was pretty alright back then and still liked by many today.
As someone who seen both one piece and devilman some of the themes explored in devilman are explored in certain arcs related to hatred of people who are different . That being said I always take it with a grain of salt when someone not actively putting their art out for scrutiny of others has a negative opinions
How dare you! The dub in the 1st devil man OVA makes it phenomenal, changes the genre to comedy but phenomenal none the less.

Are you familiar with the line from the movie Up where Dug the dog says “I just met you and I love you”? Well, you are the first person I have ever heard say that they can’t start One Piece because the Art Style rubs you the wrong way. I feel the same. When you said that, I felt like Dug.
Love both versions of hellsing but the original run's ending is kinda BS.

I need to watch the original version all the way through. I've watched about 20 or so eps, and then watched the remake that was very condensed.
