People need to realize bad hardware sales means bad software sales and bad service sales.

This podcast makes a point of not spreading misinformation. However all gaming showcases have game that are mutilplatform not just Xbox as stated. Also the parity cause for Xbox series x and s is not for resolution or frame rate would have been nice if someone on the show had questioned both of these statements. Or is it picking and choosing who says these things?

Love when people that claim to not care about censorship spend more time telling others how to act or shaming others instead of accurately covering the pros and cons of censorship.

What’s going on at Xbox shouldn’t surprise anyone. It was always obvious that the purchase of ABK would accelerate drastic change at Xbox. I said this before the deal was final. Buying ABK puts Xbox in a different ball game. Xbox would have to eat multi year losses on Xbox if they made everything exclusive. They would reap the reward on the next gen cycle. Companies like Microsoft don’t like taking losses on a single quarter what so multi year.

I think the straw that broke the camels back was when Starfield failed to sell consoles. It wasn't long after Starfield released that all the rumours about the Microsoft board wanting to pivot to a third party strategy start coming out. and was then confirmed in February.

Always? I think I heard plenty of xbox influencers bragging and gloating that ABK games would be exclusives to xbox.

@@aaronwalsh8469 My point is, it wasn't always obvious for most xbox fanboys. Personally I was saying xbox would leave the console market since 2019 and getting ABK didn't change my mind.

I'm going to be honest, was little difficult listening to this. It felt like there was little effort for anyone to understand or listen to a perspective that is at all positive in any kind of way for Xbox/MS. There's nothing wrong with talking about numbers and sharing data, as you should. But when you guys speak on these things relating to Xbox and the drama and the weird fanboying that a minority of xbox fans are doing, its tough to hear the same talking points like "your kidding yourself if these 4 games are the only ones going over". I'm pretty sure any rational xbox fan/player who pay attention to these things understands that the games being ported doesn't stop at the 4, but none of us know exactly what will/ when they will and honestly I don't think anyone knows because Xbox/MS has changed their strategy so many times.
it just feels like there is a lot of insinuating, assuming, and speaking as if the majority of xbox conversations are reality and spoken as if it's all fact. And I'm not saying the data specifically you guys mention are not true, but the later conversations turned into something very different. For example, the conversation around call of duty. Of course no one thinks of xbox with call of duty... PlayStation has had the marketing deals for like ...the last decade lol.
You don't think there is any possibility that once Xbox starts marketing cod with xbox and on their shows that at some point some people would think of xbox with cod?? If something like 80% of the marketing we see for the next cod was with xbox? Rather than playstation? We saw this with the 360 generation, didn't we?
Look I'm not going to pretend that Xbox consoles are in great shape or that things are going to suddenly turn around. But we really haven't seen any kind of fruit coming from the ABK closure besides Diablo 4 coming to GP recently. Don't you think its a little soon to be speaking as if Xbox as a brand is essentially toast?
I've listened to the show for a long time now, but it really felt like "feedback" was hard for you guys to hear and listen to, and I'm of course risking you guys getting on me for providing feedback, and I do not mean any disrespect. I do enjoy the conversations and thoughts, so I do hope you're able to consider my perspective on how it felt for me as a viewer, and someone who does game and play across multiple devices and platforms. I respect the work you all do, and would love to see more conversations about the games coming out and what you're all playing! Have a good rest of the week, with peace and love.

I've mostly see their recent moves as positive too, but BRAP and Co. aren't trying to have a negative perspective for the sake of it, it's just we all know why these pivots have happened. But I do agree, their games going everywhere is win for gamers. It's just the outcome for gamers wasn't the topic of discussion, although certainly the outcome is positive for gamers.
If looked at from the perspective of MS old strategy it's purely negative. If looked at from the perspective of the console race, certainly a negative outcome for Xbox/MS. If looked at from the perspective of their bottom line, which is what BRAP and Co. were mostly doing, yes Gamepass DID hurt their 3rd party support and it did hurt their game sales and it did hurt their game quality and it did hurt their console sales ultimately.
But absolutely from a gamer perspective, their new strategy of games everywhere is a big win for gamers. Nintendo and PlayStation are now included with PC, and that means peace of mind for gamers who don't have to worry about Microsoft locking Elder Scrolls, or othe games they like. Eventually Hellblade II will be ported, and I think Blade will be their first to launch day 1 on all platforms (if you don't count Activision games and Blizzard games and Minecraft)

Funny because they never said that, that's all on you. Todd Howard said november last year that Starfield could run at 60fps on Series X, but wasn't stable, so they decided to stick to 30fps instead.
Now, of course, they managed to optimize it further and of course, FSR3 is available on consoles with has a feature that double framerate.
But sure, let's keep going like game development is easy and Bethesda just lied for the sake of it.
Regardless, have fun and be rude. I mean its the internet

Xbox makes it easy to talk crap about them. These guys have all owned and/or currently own an Xbox. Including reforge gaming. It seems obvious that Phil was prioritizing the series S because it’s Xbox’s larger user base. The only reason Starfield has a performance mode now is because it’s coming to ps5 with that feature.
