Something also to check on this one is the break light switch behind the brake pedal that also works the release of your transmission selector that might be causing your issue just throwing it out there🙂

Mike, I sent a link to your email for a 2008 Toyota Sequoia $6995 in Oklahoma City. You can stop by and check it out to see if you like it. It is basically a Toyota Tundra pickup truck with a covered back and independent rear suspension. It has 381 horsepower and will tow 8000 pounds. It rides a lot smoother than a pickup truck and the seats are super comfortable. I have a 2012 Sequoia and get 23 mpg on the highway. It drives like a dream. You don't get much pickup truck for $7000 these days. Thanks for the entertainment.
My last Nissan (an Altima) left me stranded in Austin with a broken shifter. Shoved a screwdriver down the little hole at the top of the shifter to release the shifter and got home to Dallas. Bought a new shifter for $345,, installed it and solved the problem. There is a little solenoid that went bad and is not replaceable. That was the last Nissan product I will ever buy. I have had 5 and they all caused problems. Took me 5 to learn.
Mike, that things was definitely worth what ya paid for it.. although just like Randy said watch out for the CVT. Enjoying the content so far for how long I’ve been here. Can’t wait to see what’s in store. 🫡
Definitely brake light switch that will stop you from shifting every time either that or the shifter is busted. I think you got a great deal and if you can source the parts cheap enought borrow Randy's porta power push out that rear quarter. You can definitely make some money on this one.

Once you daily that Maxima you won´t go back to the Mercedes they are really smooth and good on gas it´s a nice ride take it to Randy´s friends at Maaco they´ll fix it nice and cheap

Good deal,under the brake padal there is two micro switchs one for brake light ,the other is for delaying start , check those two always giving us problem in starting the car,good luck.
Not with 200,000+ miles on it. Looked at the prices they're bringing and I'm guessing $3500 max and he's likely to have $2500 in it if he doesn't find any big problems. Just like in real estate you make your money when you purchase. Hopefully the videos will make up for his paying too much.

I had the same shifting issue on my 08 pathfinder. Inside the center console I bent a clip back that presses on the brake switch. Never had problems with it afterwards.
Half of the problems are related to the brake switch and probably a abs light lol you get like 7 lights on the dash that only actually means 2 problems you got a good one Mike 👍

I think the problem with the gear lever is the switch on the brake pedal, that's why it won't let you shift to D and the light bulb is on. Greetings from the Island of Puerto Rico

Not a bad car. A little bit of tapping out the body to allow the light to seat properly and adding some paint to keep the exposed metal from rusting and a bumper replacement should make it look nice

The CVT is always the weak point on those, but that VQ 3.5 is a very smooth and reliable power train.
Yes, get that serviced and the fluid replaced regardless of any factory recommendations and/or mileage.
With the CVTs they NEED to be SERVICED regularly too last longer about EVERY
10 000 kms NO more ( thats what i have heard anyway, i am no expert )

I bought a 06 theft recovery with only 68000 OG miles on it. Wife uses it as her daily They’re really fast. Gotta love those paddle shifters.

Mike, you can blow in the mufler. The dent will come out. Don't forget to close the windows and the sunroof. 😂
Try replacing the brake like switch to get the gear shift to unlock. Ran Into that issue with my 2011 Armada.
Check fuses it's a locking mechanism for the shifter I think but it's probably a simple fix
The valve body needs to be changed out for that transmission. I have the Infiniti of that version. 200K Miles
That's a fully equipped maxima too, aside from the sport spec model that's got basically everything. Should be worth 5-7k all done up I think.

It's probably your brake light switch that's keeping it from going into gear. I had that problem with my Expedition.

Easy fix. Take the console panel out and there’s a little switch (button ) push in and out easy fix.

Check the brake switch, if the brake lights don't come on that could be your issue. I know you checked the running lights
