- Time for the second video as @MonkeyWrenchMike and @AutoAuctionRebuilds try to get his cheap Copart Mercedes S600 half way across the country. There are transmission troubles, headlight issues and all kinds of problems. Will this V12 survive the trip?

You gotta keep her!!
No he don't! 😂
@@Jimsathome He just did....😉😂
I don’t know, does he need that big of a paperweight?
You like to torture Mike, don't you?
Sure do
It should be illegal to mix electronics that will not allow you to move when the car is mechanically sound. What a trap!!!! Congrats on getting those things home!!!
Loving the W220 content Mike! These road trip videos are so cool with you and Randy. Keep her for many miles to come!
What a hard journey for you both, stay safe
Great timing I just finished the first video and this one just published 2 minutes ago! Quite an adventure
Looked like upstate New York all over again. Cold...dark....rainy.....snowy....wet. Non-inhabitable.
Well done making it back.
Hint: Stay out of the north east in the winter time.
If Randy's car had a 12v outlet, they do make a 12v heater, or at least they use to. I knew a couple truckers that had one in their sleeper. I did chuckle as I wrote this thinking that their sleepers were probably a lot better sealed and insulated.
One day both you and Randy will look back at this and just "Laugh your Asses off" because of this. Stay safe and warm.
Great video Mike! Hopefully the views grow as fast as possible.
Mike I have to say that I'm really liking the road trips you and Randy are doing. Also another great video that we have come to expect from you. Stay safe.
If the board is diagnosed DOA then last chance is to send it to an SMT technician and have it dipped and cleaned in IPA then oven dried. A solder reflow may also help.
Great video Mike just awesome. Glad you all made it safe. Good luck with the Mercedes
Love the video series Mike it's an exciting and interesting watch, who know how it will end up good or bad outcome for you, that's the point isn't it? It's a winning format either way. Good luck to you both !
Glad you made it back buddy
They say never meet your idols but somthing tells me with randy and Mike it would be an awsome experience
Mike you will find a solution. Nice seeing you again.
Enjoyed watching you guys making the journey home. What an adventure!!!
Very nice Mercedes Mike!👍🏻
I think that Casper is still in your Mercedes and messing around with your engine Mike!😅 Great Video!🤠👍🏻
Fantastic video! Very well edited too. 👍🏻👍🏻
Hello. Good to see you glad all is well there.😊👍🙏
Great vid!!
Hi MWM, another epic journey weighing your chance , also an uneasy calm throughout the problematic trip....Good luck...
Great video Mike! I have to get used to Randy wearing another jacket and a mobcap, haha. Glad you both made it back to OKC!
Always interesting when you buy a new car,but there´s a lot of them waiting for a repair already.Hope you have the time and energy.
That's my issue, Mike's got too many needing attention already and this POS is the mother of all of them.
Safe travels to you and Randy 🙏🙏
Brave hearts keep it up guys loving the adventure looks like the s600 is too far gone enjoy
those headlights are from a facelift model, to make them work on a pre facelift you need to repin the connectors. Tavarish has a video where he shows how to do it.
50,000 subs Mike!!!!!! Congrats!!!
I just ran into your channel and I have to say I love the content. Now I'm binge watching all your old content. I know this video is old, but that corroded trans module can be cleaned by dipping it in alcohol and gently scrubbing it with a tooth brush. then dry it completely. These old Mercedes all have issues with water intrusion and about 85% of the time this trick will work. If you swap it out for a new TCM you would need to have it re programmed. The car needs to see the correct VIN before it will communicate with the TCM.
You'll get her squared away! Or light a match and walk away! Good luck!
Awesome video!
Half way through the video and enjoying it immensely Mike, you and Randy make a great double act....also loved your own yard walkaround video you should do more of those.
i like this good content and how it shows the reality of buying such cars.
I like how spontaneous ur Videos are. Its hard journey but u can do it
Great vid. Hoping Randy's vid comes out soon on the Mopar adventure
What A trip.glad you both made it back okay great videos
I have to admit that the 'Mike found another lemon Mercedes' theme is pretty entertaining. Maybe not profitable, but entertaining.
Stay safe, good video 😀
Good job guys ....👍👍 .
Mike,
You and Randy make a great team. It's unbelievable that Randy made it back home in the Swinger/ Scamp. In closing, you to remind me of Bevis and Buthead.
I’ll take that as a compliment!
S600 "a comfortable ride, on a trailer". Fun watching 👍
UA-cam gold, love these videos guys😎🇳🇴🇺🇸👌
Love these road trips.
Randy made it, just 1 real fan 😜😂👍lol
Yep that’s me in the Grey Honda Pilot, it was so cool to meet y’all maybe
Looking @Randy with a coat and skully on priceless nice vid Mike
Let them go guys
Get in touch with Alex from LegitStreetCars on UA-cam, he's a Mercedes specialist and he knows WELL the ABC system, he went mad on his ex-Hoovie CL65 AMG 🤣 but he fixed it✌️
I was waiting for someone to suggest that to him, if I wouldn't have read your comment I was going to post it myself.... Not only would it benefit Mike greatly by having the Mercedes fixed but it make for a great collab and help MonkeyWrenchMike to gain more subscribers interested in automotive content.... Alex's subscribers will flock to this video to watch him fix the Mercedes and I have a feeling quite a few of them will like the content and Mike's personality as a whole and subscribe as a result.... It's a win-win
Thanks for the 12hrs under randys ssr.
Always enjoy your Benz videos . I have the stock rims for this car if your interested and plan on keeping it !
I got home a few times by way of rollback so yes it can get you home
At the end the Benz got just two bigger problems. Not bad. I feel bad for Randy, not because he didn't zip up his jacket, because he is driving an Oldtimer while you driving a new comfortable Ram with one of the most comfortable cars ever build on the trailer. Let's see if this influences future decisions 😁😁
Fun fun fun. Maybe when it comes to the S600 you should RUN RUN RUN. All jokes aside I’d love to see you get it right.
Sometimes one must let things go. But the Mec is cool. Love the color.
You remind me of my car! Lol
Great video
Hi from uk MRM 👋 you guys looked like you were having a great time till you's weren't😬 3:30 wasn't impressed the white car side by side with randy and that people carrier tailgating it some ppl stupid on roads no sence 👊 ad start by goin thru all modules and stuff etc in boot/trunk too think maybe some bad grounds too and I think water seals or summit may have gone at 24:00 if looks could kill 😂 the look randy issued was colder then -50 lol oh the joys tho hope merc stays in family she will become good with bit of love and around half the value of your property😂😬 wonder how tcms etc get oil in ? Must push up wire harness or summit crap like that just pleased you guys safe plenty draughting from rigs help fuel consumption and noticed merc did great on fuel tho😂👍 thanks for your time on this and be safe see you soon👋
Good luck to you all. Love your chanel.
Thank you so very much my friend Mike.
Hey Mike,I use to live close to Pigeon forge and stayed across the hiway from the upside down house, can't miss that,im close to Nashville now and if you knew that Vice Grip Garage .over out of Wisconsin to Tennessee and a county over,he would have loved to see Randy's car,he could have figure some of Randy's problems.
Ah yes, I've eaten at that Cracker Barrel in Pigeon Forge, back when the family was spending a week at Westgate in Gatlinburg. The traffic on that main road in Pigeon Forge can be insane sometimes...
Nice video .Mike and Randy . Hope you both are going to make it ?
Poor Mike you have to stop buying those German cars I had a BMW 328i for the past 6 years and it was nothing but a money pit just bought a Jeep Patriot and could not be happier. Great Video as always buddy 👍👍✌️
I know with some time you will fix her up and she will run like a champ!!! 😊👍🐒🔧
In pigeon forge I stayed across the street from where you all stayed before.
when I see corrosion like this on tiny connectors, I use wd40 and a (tip cleaner kit for torches) usually found in welding supplies to clean torch orifices (kinda like guitar wire sticks in many sizes, that can do detail filing) then test with a multimeter and a liberal amount of electrolytic grease to the contact areas and if I probe the wires with a pin I cover that with some plasti dip in a can also if I clean corrosion in modules,,, a jeweler with a ultrasonic cleaner,,,or computer repair shop who can do componen level ,, and or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush then I might consider repacking with some moisture absorbent pouches taped to the inside of the module housing (this all may not be "right" but its what I do) ...
Hey Mike this is scary!
Tell Randy yall pasted right by my house in Tennessee when yall came through Sevierville Tn. (Pigeon Forge)
Gotta love it , 👍❤️🚘
Oh man that module got wet! WOW
Mike I know with Audi my rebuild favorites the replacement TCM has to be the exact number I had the same thing happen . I am sure it will be fine .
I still like your car Mike. Drive safe Mike.
I love Pigeon Forge! Yall should come back for Rod Run April and September in Pigeon Forge! Thousands are old cars!
Great idea!!
You can scrub the back of the module. It probably did not short. After you removed the corrosion it probably will start working again.
You guys are crazy and amazing at the same time. VGG Ain't got nothing on AAR see what I did there. The first day when you introduced us to the Scamp I thought there's no way that rigs making it home and that big old Benz was a good solid car which would make it home with ease. Well nope I was wrong on both accounts. Mikey you'll get that POS figured out and randy take a bow dude you made it. Glad you fellow okies are back in God's country. Next trip should be to a warm place for your next project(s)
Thanks Mike!
Greensboro North Carolina LKQ man I hate I missed you guys!
Dang!
You were probably near Garth Brooks place when you were in Tennessee.
G'day Mike, your Copart walkaround vid was very good. You might want to release one of these vids each week and show what the cars sold or didn't sell for. An alternative name could be "Copart Walkabout"
Great idea!
I hope you have cleaned or changed the Transmission oil filter?
Yo! Yo! MRM!
You should make a bumper sticker from your intro. Lol!
I guess that's your grandchild?
"I'm in the carrrr!" Lmao every time your video comes up! Love it!
Yes! That’s my grandson!
If I was dealing with a corroded TCM, I would've gone and gotten some isopropyl alcohol, a toothbrush, and just started trying to brush off as much corrosion as possible. Give that poor thing a fighting chance! Then again, that one might just be too far gone for some cleaning to fix it.
I did. I used electric cleaner and the toothbrush I brought on the trip. I’m sill using the toothbrush….maybe I need a new one!
Poor Randy....driving the Shady Tree Scamp...with no heater/wipers...and who knows what else will Grenade on Scampy...
If you look very closely at 14:30 you'll spot a wild V12 Mercedes in its natural habitat.... Lmao 😂
Hahahah!
gas for me in northern Illinois is 3.99 for regular
The life and times of an old Mercedes and its Owner.
Gota fix the benz
Waiting for the next episode of Mike & Randys "Road Trip Misadventures!" In episode 1, they were baffled with how to install wiper blades on a 1973 Buick Century! Randy has a car in another far away state to pick up? And, there is the customer car I emailed you about that should sorta kinda make it to Tulsa....
Let me check my email!!
@@MonkeyWrenchMike It was one I sent you prior to the road trips.
Do not charge gear normal ? Conductorplate gone ? Oil in the TCU….Known problem.
So what would have happened if y’all ended up driving both vehicles, was there anyone to drive the truck back?
Good Seeing You & Randy Back At It Mike, Hope You Guys Are Able To Get The S600 Back On The Road, She’s Sexy As Ever, Just Needs Some Loving.. LoL, Gentlemen Be Safe Out There..
Just trailered them home.
The reason the car wouldn't shut off with the key and then wouldn't crank up or do anything afterwards... is all because of the transmission control module.. you know that your car has this problem if your transmission selector display is blank..(PRNDS)
pidgin forge tenn dolly wood
Man that sounded like Randy rapping.
I love your channel and I'm a sucker for needy old Mercedes but I have to ask, why does everyone go after pre-facelift W220s? They are rust buckets, have the old nav units, the V12 isn't turbo, etc etc. Just curious.
I own a pre-facelift.It´s not V12,but with no rust or any other problems. When you look for W220 in general,it´s not about the age or mileage, only thing that matters is the car´s condition. If you buy a good -99,it´s better than neglected -05.Simple as that.
I’d prefer a newer S600 but there wasn’t one available.
@@MonkeyWrenchMike Well how about waiting then Mike? 😉
i still think you got the better deal
Ok jury is still out on what one I like better keep watching to find out what one I like until better. next episode I'll make my decision 😂😂😂
Wow there's alot of room in the back . I have a 06 5 series and no where close to that car I want it
My 530i is in limp mode
“I made a boo boo” lol
Can you say SHIP them? (Next time)!
Time to upgrade the trailer to a multi-car trailer??? (Is there such a thing?) :)
most expensive car i ever bought was a cheap mercedes ... best of luck to ya
Mike keep the s600🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗
