@@EastonHathaway21 Oh yeah it makes a big difference in looks and how it handles in the air. It would be a good idea to gear down a tooth or two. Really depends on the time of year you are driving as well.
i put the belted version of the Trenchers on my Typhon TLR Tuned. They don't balloon. I took it to race at my local 1/8 buggy Truggy track to race in Truggy class and they said I was cheating with these tires because it out performed all the truggies. It had great traction on the hard clay and because it was so light compared to the truggies it was killing it.
You basically doubled the rotational mass and increased your ability to back flip. Just got one of these things, so looking for ideas. Thanks for sharing.
I've tried the 2.8 MT Trenchers and Badlands on my Typhon 3s and personally didn't care for how it handles. All depends on what surface you are own and what kind of driving puts a smile on your face the most. Good news is I love the Trenchers and Badlands on my Stampede, just enjoy the Typhon more as a pure buggy.
You know what, you are absolutely correct. I love the way they look on the Typhon and how they make it flip. After some bash session I wasn’t liking the way it handled on hard surfaces. I ended up switch back to buggy tires and it feels like it’s on rails. You can still get it to rotate by adding a bigger tooth pinion.
Any suggestions on replacement buggy tires besides the stock rubber? I was thinking about a set of slicks or street tread for messing around on the asphalt and a set for off road. Any suggestions? Down here in Fla it’s loose sand/dirt. Some tracks are clay. Thanks!!
I put these on both my 3s and 6s and they both just plain are hard to control beyond 75% power. Both wheelie when you punch it with the 3s pretty much unable to NOT wheelie (and flip over) if you're at 100%. The tires balloon like a banshee and can rub against the body when turned and the front end is up in the air. They also kill the batteries quite a bit quicker. Overall these are fun to play around with... but you'll not want to use them all of the time.
Some good points. My son uses them more than me. Plus he drives it on 50% power so it’s easy to control and they won’t balloon. Could also look into the belted tires.
We just got the belted versions of the trenchers. I have them on the front with the original non-belted ones on the back and it seems to be a nice combo (still want to get the use out of the non-belted ones). I also ordered an 8000mAh battery, lol.

Yes that is one way of going about it, but your average Joe that doesn’t get that deep into their cars won’t go that far. I’m trying to figure out my next car and it’s either a Granite or a Typhon. Part of what I’m wondering is do the Badlands add a lot more clearance to the Typhon such that it’s close to the Granite? I really prefer the style of the Typhon, but want the ability to take this thing bashing at parks and in the grass.
So the badlands won’t add much more ground clearance over the Trenchers. They will both provide great off road traction and clearance. You can also adjust your ride height in your suspension.

Great video. Love the look of the tires. Looks more like the Big Rock. How does this help with preventing flipping with hard cornering? Also any worries having punch setting 5 producing too much torque and causing needless strain?
No issues with the punch setting and having too much torque. I worry more about over heating the motor than anything, but you can gear down. As far as flipping, I haven’t had any issues. It slides more but probably on surfaces with more grip it might roll.
@@itsmeericbrc4453 I finally got my Typhon out in the soft dirt and small rocks, and it's impossible to flip with the stock tires... I didn't realize this (thus my question) because I was always running it on grippy pavement before. Have you considered upgrading the cooling fans? I find small rocks find their way in, and stop the fans. I am worried about overheating as well.
Thanks! No issue with the fitment of the tires. Nothing rubs. Also no diff issues either. Only thing is motor temps because the tires are bigger, so may need to gear down.
How are your CVD driveshafts holding up? Mine keep breaking since I put these tires on my Typhon 3s. I suspect the heavier tires have too much inertia.

@@raleighro No problem with the power but the motor does get a little bit hotter. I’m still running the same 15T pinion gear. It’s still in the 70’s where I’m at. I’d just keep an eye on the temps and it won’t hurt to gear down a tooth or two.

Great video, I've been looking at this rc for a while and due to rotator cuff and other damage to my right arm I've been running my 5 or 6 yr old Stampede 4x4 vxl. I'm torn between the Typhoon 3s or the Radix 4s. New subscriber and again great video and channel. Stay blessed.
Thanks! I’d definitely go with the Typhon 3s!
@@itsmeericbrc4453 The 3S over the 6S? Pro’s and Con’s in your opinion? I know the 6S has some beefier parts on it and I like that it can be run on 4S or 6S. PLMK your thoughts. Thank you. 😎👊
Did your tires not rub on the hubs?
Nope!
New to the game. Are tires expensive?
They can be, just depends on what you and brand you get.
Mine with stock dboots wheelies on rough asphalt.
I’ve actually been able to get it to backflip with the stock tires by changing the pinion. Lol
@@itsmeericbrc4453 i dont doubt that. These cars have great torque.
🇺🇸Just subscribed 👍thank you excellent video keep up the good work man thanks for sharing information very important and so is you video quality is excellent🏎
Hey thanks! I appreciate it!
Great video quality mate and a fellow bike rider so you got a sub from me lol going to look into these tyres for my 3s now as look great. Nice work
Ayyye!! Thanks! It give the car a different driving characteristic for sure! What type of bike to you have?
And drive shafts? I twist them apart On a good day lol
I have had no issues with the shafts
Subbed cool vid
Can I put them tires on my typhon even if I did an upgrade on my gears
Yes but you’ll have to watch your temps. Bigger tires on taller gearing will heat up the motor and ESC fast.
@ItsMeEricB RC ok I put slicks on it and it heats up the esc and motor as well
Dunno, if just me, but I prefer the originals
Yeah the original wheels and tires are nice as well.
@@itsmeericbrc4453 I'm gonna get some 2.8s myself to try out too, an interesting easy option to change your rc car
Do the front tires rub when turning?
Nope not at all!
@@itsmeericbrc4453 awesome thank you im going to get a set for my typhon
Cool video man! Subbed
Thanks!
Great video. Did u have any diff issues with these tyres fitted?
Thanks! No issue with the fitment of the tires. Nothing rubs. Also no diff issues either. Only thing is motor temps because the tires are bigger, so may need to gear down.
Awesome. Thanks
do they rub at all
Nope!
How are your CVD driveshafts holding up? Mine keep breaking since I put these tires on my Typhon 3s. I suspect the heavier tires have too much inertia.
They are doing just fine! No issues.
@@itsmeericbrc4453 probably a combination of an aftermarket motor with twice the power and heavier tires. I can't go more than 2-3 hours without snapping a CVD driveshaft. I went back to my buggy wheels and the shafts have been fine for weeks
Hey man, any quick tips on how you got that video look @ 1:12? Was it purely post production settings or did you have some type of lense or filter on your camera?
Are you referring to the camera movements?
@@itsmeericbrc4453 i Guess what I’m trying to ask is how’d you blur out everything behind the car 🤣 my bad
Your running 3s lipo in that how did you get it to go so fast and do wheelies I have the same one, is it your gearing setup ⚙️?
Yup! 3s and I was running the stock 15T pinion. Try turning your punch setting all the way up to 5.
I want to put these on my truck, how much do these tires weigh per tire? I’d put them on a rustler and I’m curious of the weight compared to stock tires.
(Edit, I finished the video and I see you did weigh them! I appreciate that! 7.2oz Thanks!)
No problem! Yeah almost half a pound!
@@itsmeericbrc4453 do you find with the extra weight it effects the motor much with heat,
@@raleighro No problem with the power but the motor does get a little bit hotter. I’m still running the same 15T pinion gear. It’s still in the 70’s where I’m at. I’d just keep an eye on the temps and it won’t hurt to gear down a tooth or two.
Are you the rc dude
No haha! He sends his cars a lot harder than I do!
Will these work with the belted trenchers ?
Not 100% on that but I don’t see when they wouldn’t work. Only thing is they will be a lot heavier, so I’d gear down for sure.
@@itsmeericbrc4453 they fit
What is punch setting 5 ?
The highest setting for max power out of your motor.
Did you run into any reoccurring break points after adding the tires? Great video by the way!
Thanks! No I have not as of yet.
Is that a stock pinion?
I believe that it was the stock pinion
THAT CAR IS GREAT LITTLE GRASS CAR NOT A BASHER
You can bash it 😅
Can i fit this in my 6s thypon ?
You should be able to but I’m not sure if the 6s uses hub carriers in the front like the Kraton. May have to check some forums to make sure.
So basically you just made an arrma big rock......
Better looking
These rims and tires don’t fit the v5 6s it rubs the knuckle on the front.
6s is not setup the same as the 3s so yes it will rub.
Lost me when the "music" started.
✌🏽
Lol looks like your killing the neighbors grass with this thing
Nah that’s the only time I have really driven in it. Haha
Loud overbearing music is an automatic turn off and stop of watching any more of the video. I'm sure you had plenty of information but I never made it due to the loud obnoxious music. Nice start though.
Cool. 👍 I’m sure you’ll find what what you are looking for elsewhere. Thanks for watching!
