I usually wake up at around 7am on saturday morning and i love watching these videos to start into the weekend, thank you so much for these high quality clips! I especially like the departure videos as a variety
Just got home from my nightshift and this is the perfect way to unwind, watching a smooth departure from a beautiful place. As always, superb work and an excellent video! Have a lovely day, thanks for the great content!
Hello Cpt. 😀 Thank you for the beautiful Departure Video from Tenerife. 🛫 I always look forward to the beautiful videos. Above all, it is an honor for us to be able to see you and your co at work. 🏆 The charts that you show in the video are very interesting for me! And above all, what excites my heart are the wonderful impressions of Tenerife from your perspective from the cockpit at the end of the video! 👌 It's again a beautiful and interesting video with a super quality! Thank you for making these great videos! in this sense I wish you and your crew a nice week! Best regards from Stiermark 🤗 Werner
Hey! An awesome video and great takeoff. I have a question. How would you feel with doing one video where you start from Cold & Dark or even a first person view walking into the aircraft. I just think that would be cool. Thank you for making this!
Always saving the best for last :) - that climb out was very rocket like - I noticed at one point 4200FPM at 250kts around 8000 I belive - wonderful video captain - Kam
Capt Stefan, could you mention to your excellent First Officer that the departure certainly was not boring. The 320neo is superb, you're such a lucky team.
Great video as always. Perhaps one suggestion as this would have been interesting to watch during start-up is to use the camera that you have at the top left of the video to show the EICAM screen instead and align it next to the PDF and NAV display?
Thanks for watching and the suggestion. I would love to to it. But it is not that easy due to the very limited possible camera positions on the flight deck. Also, depending on the camera angle, there are lots of reflections on the screens. I will keep your suggestion in mind. Please stay tuned.
Thanks for watching and the great feedback! Takeoff no blue means that we check the ECAM screen with the electronic checklist and confirm that all the lines are green and nothing is blue anymore. If for example we would not have extended the flaps for takeoff, there would be an open blue item and a takeoff configuration warning would alert us.
This has to do with the orographic situation. Large changes in wind speed and direction are happening very often at or near mountainous areas. Some airports are very popular for this, like Funchal on Madeira Island. Here is the information text from the LIDO AOI pages which belong to our approach charts for Tenerife South: Wind phenomena: • RWY 07: Expect positive wind shear (+15KT to +35KT) below 1600ft when wind at the surface is above 15KT with NE-E direction; • RWY 25: Expect positive wind shear (+15KT to +30KT) below 1600ft when wind at the surface is above 15KT with SW-NW direction.
Thanks for watching and the question. I would love to show that ECAM page. But the recording of that screen in an acceptable quality is not that easy due to the very limited possible camera locations.
Hey Captain, there used to be a video in LIME where they changed your approach whilst in the star. I think that was removed is there a reason why? I loved it
Bitte machen Sie bitte so weiter.
Thanks for the clarification. Sure, it's all one family. The A320 is just looking a little different if you compare it to the A321. But in the future I know if ATC says A320, it can be a an A318, 319, 320 or even an Airbus A321.
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos Obviously,it’s better ask ATC anyway if you think could be wrong ,but you already know that. Good videos ,the most detailed I’ve seen on UA-cam.Please consider put subtitles for ATC ,and maybe proper checklist ,like you do with charts . Thanks
Great video and very well presented. I did notice that the climb rate exceeded 15° to almost 20° and air speed reduced slightly towards Alpha prot. What is the max climb rate for A320.
Thanks for watching. Due to the great performance, the pitch may be a little higher to keep the speed target. Normal takeoff pitch values are always between 15 and 20 degrees, like you see in the video. There is no max climb rate. If the plane is empty and we would do a takeoff with max thrust and fly with V2 to V2 plus 10, we would see a few thousand feet a minute.
Thanks for watching. We usually taxi with an appropriate speed. We do not want to taxi faster than 30 knots or 10 knots in a tight turn. If it is slippery, icy or so, we taxi much slower.
The performance is outstanding because of the new engines of the A320 NEO. I am also always very impressed, especially with the takeoff and climb performance and the significantly reduced fuel consumption of the A320 NEO.
I do not think that he did something wrong. It sounds like that his flightplan expired or he missed his ATC slot. So he had to update the flightplan with a new estimated offblock time. But this is just my guess. I do not know any details.
I liked that the pilot did not use the autopilot for a long time.,, also Pratt and Whitney engine seems to be weaker than its rival boeing engines. Shortly after takeoff, it experiences a speed drop at 18-19 degrees angles. boeing Gm engines seem to be better in this regard.
The plane in this video is fitted with CFM LEAP engines. The performance is outstanding. I do not know about Pratt and Whitney and Boeing, but what we see here is wonderful. A great improvement compared to the CEO. Speed gains or drops during takeoff or approach are normal, especially at this airport. This has nothing to do with the engines.
Once I asked him too and he said: to use the communications button (on the yolk) with air control and also because it's a comfortable position for the arm. And in certain moments, in case of need (eg during landing) the monitoring pilot can also intervene. So he said. Ciao

Thanks for watching! The Captain is responsible for the thrust levers during takeoff. Even if he or she is pilot monitoring.
