Although I don't have internet access when I was a child. I would feel weird if adults in the internet tells 10 YO me that idk the Barney lore. Edit: its Barney the dinosaur, not from half life.
Child love will only become more and more normalized. Everyone standing up to the degeneracy is actually being canceled and treated as if THEY'RE the problem rather than you know... The BLATANTLY CLEAR DEGENERATES TRYING TO NORMALIZE PURE FILTH.... Shows that the world elite are openly allowing and help spreading this filth.... This is litteraly how the Roman empire began to crumble...
Imagine being a father who noticed your daughter enjoyed the show mlp, you then took her to a mlp convention as a surprise and once you took her, you found out all the guests were Middle Aged men with fully grown beards and rainbow wigs on.
@@ShinFahima my mom was very wary of my interest in MLP and the “brony” community. Not because I was 11-13 years old and enjoying a show aimed at younger kids, but because I was 11-13 and possibly (naïvely and unbeknownst to myself) interacting with grown men who were interested in a show that is aimed at younger kids-more specifically, younger girls. I feel like she would croak at the thought of leaving me at a brony convention alone. I’m so grateful for that sort of guardedness now, honestly. She had me in her best interest.
"If a minor is mature enough to realize they get too angry in video games, they would have a lot more respect" That's the best way to put this sentence into something normal.
i was slightly older than the demographic aim of friendship is magic (i was already a teenager when it was in it's heyday) but i was still a teenage girl who liked it and one of the worst things ever was when i went to a toystore and looking at the pony stuff and was legitimately bullied away from them by adult men who were quizzing me on how much pony lore i knew edit just to add LOL thank u to everyone saying they feel bad for laughing at the story, it's absolutely hilarious to me now as an adult it was just insane to even thank about back in the day, so please laugh it's very funny
I knew a brony for a while, I asked him why he was into it and he said to me that he was apart of the war in Afghanistan and from all the horrors he saw, he saw genuine comfort in this show since the show was so innocent. Which is more understandable than most other explanations. I didnt know he was a brony until he changed his discord pfp to a pony.
@@franciscofernandez3415 if you know what the person getting beaten did before they went to jail, you'll understand. I love how even when they're grilling each other for grooming kids, it still sounds like dialogue from a really shit fanfic "THE ROAD TO HELL IS PAVED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS, ZACH."
I used to be a brony and I was straight up almost groomed by a 26 y/o when I was 13. He knew where I lived because he took me home after a brony meet up (we were the only two brony's there) he would text me everyday and lovebombed me like crazy. my dad INSTANTLY knew what was happening and told the dude never to get into contact with me again Thanks dad. Lil edit: My dad did something as soon as he found out what was happening, I lied to him saying "oh yeah a friend gave me a ride home!" Or something to that extent not realizing the weight of the situation. I was a 13 y/o boy who thought he could defend himself if anything did happen and was just too stoked to have another brony friend hah. It was pure naiveté on my part. My pops did all he could to protect me with the given situation.
Bro when Zack said "You guys know me," only to have one of his friends respond with "I thought I did," hit me right in the chest. I'd feel betrayed as shit too if I knew someone for that long and discovered they were like this. Sounds like his friends deserved better.
That's also one of the most manipulative things you can say. If friends just turn their back on you without strong evidence or hearing your side of things then that is terrible. However, using the "you know me" in response to an allegation without providing actual evidence just plays on the emotional connections people have with you. If anything it seems more suspicious because providing counter-evidence should be enough to prove your innocence.

My daughter grew up watching MLPFIM, and I watched with her so as to be able to relate to her interests. She's a high school junior now, and we still talk about MLP from time to time. I appreciated the rich characters, interesting storylines, humor, and encouraging messages that the show introduced to kids. I'm really glad that one of the shows that brightened up my childhood, and kinda stuck around as something to watch every now and then to cheer me up, fueled one of the most depraved and unhinged fandoms in existence.
My younger sister who is mentally disabled and 16 years old at the time had an online relationship with a 24 year old brony/furry. Relationship lasted 6 months before my parents found out. When he came to visit he should be glad he could run faster than my father...
Good to note though that since your sister is mentally ill the rules are diferent. But still, the biological criteria for consensual sex shouldnt be 18
@@tacioob2337 I don’t think there should be different rules for a mentally disabled person. My mentally disabled ex-best friend started dating a 14 year old when she was 20. She also heavily sexualized child anime characters. Mental illness isn’t an excuse to sweep things under the rug, ESPECIALLY pedophilia. There’s never an okay excuse for that. The only pedophiles I have even an inkling of sympathy for are the ones that were groomed to be that way by childhood sexual exploitation themselves, which makes up roughly about 40% of convicted pedophiles. But even then I have trouble being sympathetic to them, as they know first hand the harm they’re putting children through. So, sympathy gone. As a society, we CAN’T let the mentally ill or disabled get away with atrocities. I saw a story of a boy with Down Syndrome who repeatedly groped and assaulted a specific female waitress. People let it happen because of his handicap, leading to what I’m sure is trauma and resentment in that woman. Disabled people are part of the world, and while I think there should be more measures taken to understanding and helping the mentally and physically disabled, it helps NO ONE to let them figuratively get away with murder.
@@HavianEla you cant convict guilty someone who is mentally disabled. Is just plain out stupid, they dont know what they are doing whatsoever, sometimes they act like savage animals. But i was talking about other thing, the age of consent should be 14 and higher, with a exception of mentally ill people because they cannot consent. We cant think that the criminal justice should be putting people in jail for consensual sex, when they clearly can consent. Below 14-15 years or so is a matter of protecting the pre puberty and the mental state of the child that cannot consent. But convicting a person for consensual sex with a adolescent? Is just plain stupid, i do think the justice should intervene with protective measures, but jail is just stupid.
I was a big fan of their community back in about 2016 and a lot of their fanbase (from what I saw) was younger or adults on the spectrum. I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if they didn't. The whole incident saw many people step away from them as a whole though.
My sister was actually a really active member of the mlp/brony community, I went to conventions and meetups with her and honestly out of all the fandoms I've witnessed and been around bronies are either the most degenerate or nicest people you'll come in contact with.
I've found something similar with furries. They're either the warmest, friendliest bunch, or unhinged crackpots who I would tuck and roll out of a moving car to avoid.
This is a real psychological thing that happens. Exposure to constant pornographic or positive material can cause attraction to specific things. That's why fetishes and kinks happen most of the time. Also why people say you shouldn't joke about kinks because you will develop it, the brain is basically a separate entity from the person sometimes and development of kinks is a result of that.
For a show with talking horses spreading friendship the fandom sure like making stories about gore and characters killing each other and turning them into cupcakes.
Cupcakes was made during a time when creepypastas were blowing up, and it was one of the first MLP grimdark stories to get popularized along with Rainbow Factory. The idea of cute cartoon horses getting horribly murdered was still a new concept at the time, which is why it became so infamous in the first place.
Yup to be fair that was a more edgy era of the internet compared to the sanitize too safe internet today Though I have a feeling that era will return one day (though not as prevascent as the wild west era) human nature is just hard to tame especially when it comes to edgy teenagers writing stories
This shit is why I don't engage in online fandoms and communities. As an AFAB brony and a scaly, these communities harbor and at times encourage some horrifically creepy and disgusting shit. I just want to enjoy the wholesome lessons, bright colors and good music. I don't want to see porn of literal animals and characters I associate with my childhood.
I love how the modern mlp community are the kids who grew up with the show that are now pissed off at the brony community for making the fandom such a terrible place for them.
I saw one thread in Twitter a year ago where current generation of bronies were against 4chan /mlp/ and blamed them for random things. Lol, dumb kids, 4chan anons actually created this fandom.
yeah I grew up with the show and I have never once used 4chan (didn't even know what it was until this video lmao) so yeah it is pretty annoying when people assume stuff about me even when I just liked the show as a show. Like no one ever gets bullied for liking scooby doo or something. It's just kinda dumb
I always hate it when people say "I was in a dark place & or I have this mental health issue so that means I wasn't in the right mindspace ! " because there are millions of people out there who deal with the same stuff but you're not gonna see them hurt other people or heaven forbid children or animals. There is absolutely no excuse at all for doing that kind of stuff
Using it to explain your actions is one thing, but if you say it, then it should immediately be followed up with “but that doesn’t excuse what I did.” Then take responsibility. Explaining your mental state is great, but like you said it doesn’t give you a free pass.
@@Spiney09 literally. The amount of times I’ve seen people go “I was depressed and suicidal” or something like that in response to why they hurt someone is baffling. As someone with mental health issues, I can agree that thats bullshit, just because you have mental health issues doesn’t make it right to commit pedophilia, grooming and bullying, and most people with mental health issues don’t do that shit, they’re completely missing the point of mental health issues and it sickens me that people use this real problem that people to have to excuse their crimes

We’re in the same hole bud, i remember so much content where mlp was involved but was intended for an older audience. I have siblings now that watch youtube but i hate how they have free reign of it.
Jesus christ, this is actually wild. Getting porn photos just from searching up the names of one of the characters from a children's show is one of the craziest things I've heard hope you doin good 👍
something I absolutely hate about the internet is that this is still the case with any animated character. If you google the name of a character from Poppy Playtime, Steven Universe, Adventure Time, Teen Titans, etc. there will always be someone's weird fetish porn fanart within the first few results. I'm not sure why google seems to prioritize these images as being the most relevant when you are just looking up the name of the character and nothing else, but obviously children are going to see that when they just want to look at pictures of their favorite cartoon. it's disgusting
Isn't even in the bible, though Saint Bernard did say "Hell is full of good wishes and desires." I was always told "Hell is full of good meanings, but Heaven is full of good works."

I got into the show. Loved it for the innocents. Found the reason you made this video and dipped from that Fandom so hard. I just stop talking to people about things I like. People ruin things.
I genuinely struggle to understand this fandom. I'm 36 years old, my daughter who is 4 loves the show. Sometimes if she's watching and I'm otherwise bored I'll watch a couple episodes with her. Like its a cool show, with really likeable characters and mostly on point feel good messaging. I actually rather like the show -- to a point. At the end of the day its a kid's cartoon and after about two episodes , the fact that its target demographic is not me quickly manifests itself and I start getting bored watching it with her. Like I can understand a grown man liking this show, perhaps really liking it. I still really like old school Rugrats and Doug episodes from my own childhood for instance, but to get this deep -- especially to develop a sexual perversion around it I really really don't get. ** Edit 04JUL23 ** As I stated in a long winded reply below: - There is nothing intrinsically wrong with an adult liking a show who's target audience is children (I even gave examples above) - No.. A fandom is not dictated by its worst members, however its worst members are often the most vocal and the de facto face of the community. I contend that unlike other fandoms around kids shows, the MIL fandom does a very very poor job ostracizing its creeps. - As adults, its our responsibility if we like shows like this and feel inclined to seek out other people who do, to modify our behavior online and off to be age appropriate for that communities target audience. I myself run DND games as a hobby usually for adults, but on the occasions I knew I would have minors at the table, I ensured the session was age appropriate for them (both from myself and other adult players) - Generally speaking however, I feel that obsessing over one fandom or another as an adult is indicative of deeper problems. Its unhealthy in my opinion for anyone, especially an adult to have aspects of their identity tied up in these fandoms.
i used to adore the show when i was growing up, to the point of obsession, but even then i still never understood how grown men were obsessed to the same or an even higher degree than me. The show is super engaging and well written for children, and pretty engaging and wholesome for adults, but for your enjoyment to twist it into such a disgusting place is a different level of perversion.
Well about the sexual thing if you mean the massive amount of porn about it well that is kind of inevitable, the exact same happens with basically any moderatly known cartoon and Anime. Like Hey Arnold, Amphibia, Steven Univers, Etc. About that trash guy who groomed kids, well the fandom is very big so some horrible people being in it is practically inevitable and the fact many children are also fan does increas the risk. But I am not sure what can be done about that. The Cartoon Fandoms are mostly online, so people could live in diferent cities, countries or even continents. So you really can't do anything to stop someone from doing something terrible when you are 2000 km away from them. And since is mostly online is very difficult to know something like that is happening at the beggining, until messages and chats are liked. I think the only thing you can do is complety denounce the ones who do that with no apologies and just hope the police do their job.

They came across it as a joke. A bunch of people on 4chan got together to watch the premier and make fun of it together online. Some people started hyping it up as a troll, other people joined in ironically to make it go viral, then as new people discovered it, they didn't understand the compliments were from trolls and they actually got legitimately into the show. Jenna Nicholson does a wonderfully entertaining video about it as she was in the community for a long time, and was a voice on the parody "friendship is witchcraft"
This is definitely the correct original background for it's rise in popularity online originally but spread like wildfire to adjacent groups that had friends who were "window watchers" of 4chan
You mean Jenny Nicholson? Yeah, her videos are great, she should be more well known because she’s made some of the most well thought out and funniest dissertations I’ve ever seen
Ironic that Lily Peet would call out someone else for problematic behavior involving minors when she herself is guilty of that exact thing, not to mention being abusive.
If there's anything I learned from any franchise targeted towards younger people, you always going to have predators that are influencers in said franchises.
Also I like how dramatic these skype calls are. Imagine being judged for pedophilia by a bunch of low voiced guys with cute avatars. Thanks for the likes. I aint defending the dude, I just cant stop cringing from the fact. Like, why do you even public this on the internet in the first place?!
I was a brony when i was around 13-14, and got sexually harassed online by older men constantly to the point where I had to disengage from the fandom because it was just TOO much. I met lots of great people I still talk to during that time, as well, but man, being harassed like that really soured me to bronies in general.
As a former brony and man, I hate the fact this happen to you. I would have quit the fandom too. The whole reason I got into was how innocent, fun, cute and memey it was. I'm so sorry
The "intervention" of sorts, at 15:05 is genuinely one of the most hilarious things I've ever heard. So many dorks in one place, and at least one of them is a teen-predator. 😂😂😂
I was a child 'brony' (young to mid teens). man, the things I saw... I still adore this show. For me it will forever remain a wholesome, nostalgic escape. I have, somehow, successfully separated the horrorfic cursed media from the wholesome within my brain and im very grateful for that
Actually Lauren originally came to Hasbro to pitch her "original" idea called "Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls" to them "Okay, there's these girls with big head and eyes who have powers and fight evil and..." "The Powerpuff Girls, didn't your husband create that!" "No, nothing like that...and they each represent a different planet and... "That sure sounds like Sailor Moon!" "and it'll be these dolls and..." "Hey, those look at lot like those Lalaloopsys our competitor just came up with!" "or that doll from that movie Coraline!" "Well, than what do you think I should do" "Wanna help us reboot My Little Pony" "Okay!" If you think Bronies were bad, you should check out The Loud House fandom.
The fact that she made (what is pretty much agreed to be) a masterpiece out of this profit-chasing commission, after her own idea was scrapped, shows quite the dedication on her end. Also, having been on DeviantArt quite often recently, I've seen both TLH fans and haters of the wildest varieties.
I was the target audience (8 year old girl) when I first watched the show. I was only doing it ironically and to hate on it because I was a pretty big tomboy at the time. To my surprise I liked the first episode and watched more until I eventually considered myself a big-time fan. I even dressed up as Rainbow Dash one time for Halloween. I think a part of the reason it became so popular is because despite it being aimed at children it doesn't baby or talk down to them, and the lessons they taught actually had substance to them. Many of my friends also really liked the show because of this and even my current friends who I did not know at the time also said they watched it growing up. I was a part of the fandom and liked the music, fanart, UA-cam parodies, ytps, etc. and somehow I don't think I ever stumbled across anything weird. I lost interest in it at about 14 but thankfully I am able to say that it was a very fond part of my childhood.
Aw that's a cute story! I wasn't the target demographic when I first watched it in my early teens, but I had a similar experience with the show. When I first learned about it through memes, I began watching it out of spite just to talk shit on it. But for those reasons you mentioned, I started to genuinely enjoy the show.
I first noticed the show in 5th grade and honestly I had a similar reaction as you. I saw it so often while scrolling on netflix and was finally just like "Alright bro lemme see how bad this is" and then I actually ended up liking the show a lot. I actually started by watching rainbow rocks the movie instead of the actual show first which was kinda confusing lmao but I think it actually got me to tolerate the first season of the show because the movie was a lot better than the first season lol and I think that if I had started with that I woulda quit the show immediately.
I entered the fandom in the early days during season 1, when I was about 8 years old. I remember being so proud that the show reached the popularity that it did, and I still am incredibly proud of the artists especially (MLP's fan songs, animations, etc SLAP). But it came to a point a few years later where I started to catch onto things and realize how twisted some of these people were. It is very interesting to be an OG fan and experience the destruction of a fandom first hand, I'll tell you that.
I know right? I watched MLP since gen 1 so seeing it morph into what it is now is crazy. There are plenty of good and talented people in the fandom but wow, FiM got done dirty by weirdo adults.
wouldn't say it destroyed the fandom, it's not like every single adult who watched the show was weird, they added a lot to the community. sure there where a few bad actors in the community, but other than that i would say it thrived.
I used to be somewhat known in the brony fandom as a voice actor. I cosplayed as the character I voiced for fan projects, and went to a con hoping to have a fun time. Instead, I was groped by bronies no fewer than three times over two days. I never cosplayed that character ever again, and quietly exited the fandom.
I'm so sorry that happened to you! ❤️The problem is those ponies are little girls in all but name. They act like little girls, they speak like little girls, they have problems that little girls care about, they dress like little girls. Those ponies ARE MEANT TO BE LITTLE GIRLS. So it's clear that the grown men obsessed with them are obsessed in a segguxal way. If this was a show about actual little girls everyone would be able to see it for what it was but because it's ponies it gives these creeps plausible deniability. And they can claim oh they just like the show when they actually like little girls but know better than to openly say that. It's a magnet for pe d os
@@WhitneyDahlin I agree but disagree. Your point works for this show, but not all shows about kids are sexual in nature, nor is liking them. Most of the people I watch do actively send reports to police, including actual name and photo of the predator (evidence too). It's just that unless you're a channel that works directly with police on a pedo hunt, your report will probably get ignored. I'm not saying to not send reports, but i am saying that most of these pedos get maybe 8 years in jail if police actually DO something. I have rarely ever seen these bastards get sentences in the double digits. And a lot of the time police flat out say they can't do anything, the judge is completely inept or the pedo makes some kind of claim that gets them out of trouble. I have seen a few channels that do it for clout, but they're few and far between, just thought i'd explain some of the frustration that comes with actively hunting pedos to get them arrested. Sometimes it really just boils down to; all we can do is warn people about them.
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions,Zach. These people are your family. They helped you through so much and you took a giant shit on them.” Had me laughing for a solid 5 minutes straight
16:45 i understand how controversial the brony community is and how infamous they are for being creepy, but i appreciate the members that seem to genuinely care about protecting young girls from their fellow bronies. mad respect for the normal ones
sad part is I met actual bronies and most of them alrdy had their own families and lives. The problem is that Furries came in and overtook what was wholesome and destroyed it. Bronies got a bad rep because the Furries were tainting it (as they tend to taint ANYTHING with animals. See Disney characters!)
The show wasn't made just for girls, and Faust was smart enough to make sure there was appeal for adults, since there would be a lot of parents or other adult guardians watching. That being said, 99% of bronies abhor the monsters highlighted in this video.
I watched it a few episodes when I'd babysit my nieces, but I never really saw the appeal that bronies apparently did. The only thing I remember from that show was everyone forgetting the pink one's birthday, and she lost her fucking mind, went cross-eyed, and started talking to potatoes lol
I didn't care if someone put a dark or freaky spin on the show. I love that shit. Obviously inappropriate content never should've been pushed onto minors. That's just sick to think there's adult who do that, regardless if its MLP or not. But some kids naturally get curious and find things on their own and that was me back in 2012. I regret none of it, except WoodenToaster being a jerk but I guess I can understand why he didn't want to talk to a 12-13 year old kid.
@@mechanwhal6590 Exactly. I just imagine sitting in your first class, on the first day of school and just spontaneously bursting into explosive diarrhea in your pants.
I agree with that after watching this video, cause honestly I didn’t even know some of this was a thing. Probably because I got into the show when they were airing their last season. The brony community may be odd (both in a good and bad way) but it is still a good show regardless.
I was in college at UNL in Nebraska, my best friend had a brony as a roommate. He drew pony’s on their hallway whiteboard everyday… it was annoying but my buddy ignored it. I was a huge fan of mlp when I was 6-10 yrs old and had hundreds of those blind bag figures you’d get from Walmart. Ofc I looked up mlp stuff on UA-cam, and occasionally I’d find some gorey disturbing animation featuring the ponies and would get extremely uncomfortable and upset. Fortunately I didn’t see much of the sexual side of the fandom, but it still scarred me for life watching cupcakes for the first time.
As a mother, I don't understand how people just leave their kids unsupervised on the internet and don't look into their interests. I had to explain to a friend what her 18-year-old son being a brony was. She found crazy stuff on his computer when she finally looked .
I lost my remote while cleaning my room and FIM came on. I surrendered to the lazy and just let it play, eventually thinking, hey this isn’t half bad. And thus my dad’s disappointment grew as his teenage son started watching My Little Pony. Was never too deep into the community though.
I joined the community at around 13, and as much as it had a huge positive impact on my life(inspired me to start doing art, helped me find friends and try out different creative projects), it also got me involved in a whole lot of grooming scenarios, and I know a lot of other girls who went through the same thing. Unfortunately, back then we saw it as the so much needed attention, validation and feeling of being involved into something big and cool :(
I joined when I was like 14-15, and I can honestly say, I'm glad I fell into a tiny subculture of musicians where none of any of this sort of shit happened. Well, some people posted porn, but they ended up becoming furries anyway.
I was legit 13 years old when the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic came into my life, even though I despised anything "girly". (Even though I am a girl. But that was a whole other thing I'm not going into today) And I can tell you...this fandom was surprisingly not that toxic but I ran into so many people that looked like they would have a criminal background
The free access to children and their fandoms that is generally unregulated on social media is a horrible, terrible thing. Its far too tempting for predatory types to find kids who like the same thing you might be into as a kid. You either abolish all anonymity, or parents need to wake up and monitor their kids internet in a non-intrusive way as possible. I don't see how any kids entrenched into social media and fandoms don't come across adults and adult content concerning kids shows.
I used to enjoy the show myself (I'm a boy) and I luckily never met any bronys as I never went onto websites like 4chan, only playing games on computers.
When I first joined in like 2014 I knew that there were weird ass dudes in the Fandom because I didn't like furries because I thought they were weird, but I never really encountered anyone like that. Just stay away from conventions, don't interact with the community much, or at all, and you'll be fine.
Yeah I guess he's like count dankula... but way more relatable for me and more based. Tom has his UA-cam game locked down. The only commentary channel I can watch, besides occasionally John Swan and Nick DeOrio
I actually got exposed to this show because of babysitting, and ended up genuinely enjoying the show with my niece. It was a well written show with lovable characters, at least the parts I saw.
@@tuggleworm2690all he said was the show was enjoyable lmao. Never said he was a Brony, just pointed out how he can see it’s possible to be interested based on what he saw
@igotsauce Why? There's a big difference between stories written *primarily* for children and stories written *only* for children. It's well-written, funny, and has good characters and an interesting setting. Like... you know employed adults are the ones that create cartoons, right? People who love writing good stories and creating rounded characters and building fun worlds. Heck, I wanna work on cartoons as a career and I hope I get to be part of a crew that loves its work so much. And... like, so what if it was directed at girls? Why is it that nobody bats an eye when shows directed at boy audiences attract girl viewers, but not the other way around? Adults aside, plenty of young boys watched MLP. Heck, one of them got his own character put in an episode thanks to the Make-A-Wish foundation.
@@tuggleworm2690 That's not the kind of person who needs help. It's those who became obsessed and those who felt it was okay to bully children and sexualize everything. Enjoying a little kids show is okay, I mean parents watch this stuff with kids and sometimes they end up enjoying it. I know my dad liked SpongeBob haha
This makes me sad because as an adult man, sometimes I watch cartoons for kids out of nostalgia or just boredom. I'd hate to be lumped in with these people.
Nothing wrong with being an adult man watching cartoons. Personally I love specially old Disney cartoons, those where they hand-made and painted in great detail every frame of the cartoons. They were works of art. But I also love things like Pixar animation films, like WALL-E, Inside Out, Tangled, Brave, Shrek, and there's a lovely Irish movie company that have made some really lovely animated cartoon-movies, like 'The Book of Kells', 'The Song of the Sea' and another one about wolves I don't remember the name of, with mythology and Irish music in it. I specially enjoy stuff like that if I'm depressed or anxious, but also if I'm really bored.
Same here. But they are the good one like Thundercats, Heman, and a select few disney cartoon movies to also review to sell as well. Barney and other little kids shows and movies nope. Lol.
I’m a guy and I really loved this show, but not in the way a lot of these weirdos do. I more so watched the show to help me cope with my bullying and harassment issues. It really did help and I made a few friends through it.
Same here buddy. I was absolutely shielded from the bad stuff until like 2018. Still, a few good ones exist. LittleShyFIM's a good example. I mean, I still am technically one and make animations on them on my other channel. Just fun stuff.
@@habibishapur I mean, the bullying was happening long before I watched this show, pretty much since kindergarten, and none of my bullies ever knew I watched it, so I fail to see your point.

As an animator in the brony space back in the fandom's most popular days, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the community. Thankfully I wasn't exposed to much of the darkness that many people see in the brony community, it was just a lot of collaborating with others on art and animation projects. Sad to see these things happen. Humanity is awful.
what didn't help was the adults gatekeeping the entire thing. when it's clearly made for kids. it's a shame what it did to our youth. and I am upset that no one stepped up to stop it before it got worse.
As a 27 year old woman, I genuinely enjoy the show. I watched it before I had my kids. Since it first aired. It’s very nostalgic. It’s very wholesome, with a surprisingly good plot. But I’ve always enjoyed cartoons, of all sorts. However. I can’t openly enjoy it because of people like this. The extreme fan base makes me feel shame for enjoying the show. I do not and have not ever associated myself with all that mess.
i feel so bad that the mlp fandom turned out the way it did when it first aired. You seem like a nice person, and i wish mlp could’ve had the same affect bluey had on all age groups in 2022, but i guess the same thing happened with both shows, just one became incredibly gross
what some bronies did are actually horrifying, but i don’t think the weird and creepy people in the fandom can define the whole fandom. i love mlp and im part of the fandom even though im a 17 year old girl, but i love the show because i watched it as a kid and it brings back nostalgia and the show really makes my mood better when i watch it. the fan made animations and stories are also very interesting to me and i can tell how much hard work was put into them. there are some really great people that make mlp related content and i hate that we (normal bronies) are sometimes grouped with the creepy ones. especially when people judge me for liking the show just because of weird things other people that like the show have done.
I personally never cared. Who cares if people want to put their own horrid spin on something. I love it and I'm all for it. The grimdarks and creepypastas were always great to me because I loved seeing what the show meant to other people, even if it was more eclectic or unsettling. The way I'd see it, the people who go on to do actual horrible, malicious deeds are distinct and not to be associated with the macabre or raunchy artwork.

Like EDP cupcakes? 😕
Cupcakes was made during a time when creepypastas were blowing up, and it was one of the first MLP grimdark stories to get popularized along with Rainbow Factory. The idea of cute cartoon horses getting horribly murdered was still a new concept at the time, which is why it became so infamous in the first place.
Yup to be fair that was a more edgy era of the internet compared to the sanitize too safe internet today
Though I have a feeling that era will return one day (though not as prevascent as the wild west era) human nature is just hard to tame especially when it comes to edgy teenagers writing stories
Story about killing others and turning into cupcakes? Damn! Isn't that basically Soylent Green but in MLP?

something I absolutely hate about the internet is that this is still the case with any animated character. If you google the name of a character from Poppy Playtime, Steven Universe, Adventure Time, Teen Titans, etc. there will always be someone's weird fetish porn fanart within the first few results.
** Edit 04JUL23 **
As I stated in a long winded reply below:
- There is nothing intrinsically wrong with an adult liking a show who's target audience is children (I even gave examples above)
- No..
I myself run DND games as a hobby usually for adults, but on the occasions I knew I would have minors at the table, I ensured the session was age appropriate for them (both from myself and other adult players)
- Generally speaking however, I feel that obsessing over one fandom or another as an adult is indicative of deeper problems. Its unhealthy in my opinion for anyone, especially an adult to have aspects of their identity tied up in these fandoms.
You put this perfectly. I’m the same way-I don’t understand how a grown adult male could obsess over a show aimed at little girls
i used to adore the show when i was growing up, to the point of obsession, but even then i still never understood how grown men were obsessed to the same or an even higher degree than me. The show is super engaging and well written for children, and pretty engaging and wholesome for adults, but for your enjoyment to twist it into such a disgusting place is a different level of perversion.
You see, some people are born this way. They're natural freaks.

Have been in the russian branch of this fandom from the age of 12 to the age of 15. Honestly, it was fun. I didn’t know english at that time, so I couldn’t stumble upon 4chan. It was just about watching the show, finding good art and sitting in that kinda weird group called “brony dubstep”(fucking hell xd). Even though at one point of time I was into fanfiction, it turned out great. I unironically read the whole “Fallout: Equestria” book(which honestly, still blows my mind, just the sheer amount of pages and the narrative), and found out about the Fallout 3 because of that. Still my favourite gaming franchise. I guess the russian branch of this fandom just wasn’t that bad…

I'm actually glad that my grasp on English was far weaker at that time. For me, English speaking side of the fandom consisted only of well made animations and songs.

Something I noticed with the EDP that applies to numerous situations like this, ppl are more interested in exposing and feeling like some sort of internet authority instead of actually going to the proper authorities and getting these sickos off the streets/ internet
They clout chasing
MamaMax reports pretty much everyone he covers. And the police usually do Jackshit in 99% of the cases, even when he makes that fact public knowledge.
Sometimes it really just boils down to; all we can do is warn people about them.

sad part is I met actual bronies and most of them alrdy had their own families and lives. The problem is that Furries came in and overtook what was wholesome and destroyed it. Bronies got a bad rep because the Furries were tainting it (as they tend to taint ANYTHING with animals. See Disney characters!)

When something is too toxic and degenerate for 4Chan... a line has been crossed.
Well it also didn’t help that they unwittingly helped create this retarded fanbase.
“Toxic” -NPC #2836181
Toxic is a dumb reddit term.
If I called something i think is unhealthy radioactive or hazmat I'd be made fun of so why th is toxic used in that way 🤓
I lost my remote while cleaning my room and FIM came on.
@BittleBittyB They both attract the same kind of degenerate, lowlife, low value losers so it makes sense.

Get help bro
@@lagtim327 It's like with Power Rangers. It's a show for kids, but it has so much action and loveable characters anyone can enjoy it.
Lol.
A lot of people do this. You're fine as long as it has nothing to do with whatever is happening here. 😂
I love cartoons too and I'm an adult, I get it dude, these people are just weird

what some bronies did are actually horrifying,
but i don’t think the weird and creepy people in the fandom can define the whole fandom. i love mlp and im part of the fandom even though im a 17 year old girl, but i love the show because i watched it as a kid and it brings back nostalgia and the show really makes my mood better when i watch it. the fan made animations and stories are also very interesting to me and i can tell how much hard work was put into them. there are some really great people that make mlp related content and i hate that we (normal bronies) are sometimes grouped with the creepy ones. especially when people judge me for liking the show just because of weird things other people that like the show have done.
Definitely cuz the definition of a “brony” is a guy who watches mlp and let’s not called those weirdos bronies cuz there not bronies there just creeps
Being a grown man into a show made for single-digit aged girls is weird af and youre weird af for liking it
I personally never cared.
