    I wish I saw this earlier. I had root Rot and clipped all the bad roots, but it still has not healed. Hopefully there is still time to save the plant this weekend. Thanks for sharing.

    I just repotted my aloe 2 weeks ago and noticed signs of stress like leaves tips turning brown and the leaves are lost lots of the gel inside, almost like they shriveled. How long do you estimate for aloe to recover from the stresses of a repot?

    I'm in Australia. I just put mine in the back yard it's now filled the whole yard , I don't do anything to it. The weather gives it water. I just cut a leaf when I need it. From 1 to over 100 in a few years. Tried to give away but no one wanted them so when I reduce them they just go to the dump.😭

      Oh noooo! I use them as shampoo, conditioner, detangler for our hair. And I use them in my soaps and oils too.

      I'd get a container, put some gel and water in it, blend it, and freeze it. Now you've got some d.i.y. burn gel.

      Bruh, you can make shampoo, and some foods and skin care etc. Aloe is amazing. Just make sure to soak aloe over night if you decide to eat it.

      @@hayleyconnors2347 I did put them up for sale a while ago on fb. I think $5 a plant, you would need 2 people to carry one. If you live in SE Qld Logan area.

    Great to see another video after a long time. Cheers, Danny! Where do you get these pots from? They seem to nice and reusable compared to hard plastic pots.

    • @TheAloeVeraGarden
      @TheAloeVeraGarden  7 місяців тому +1

      Yes, they are reusable. They are nursery pots or soft polyethylene pots. Some of these pots are about the same time I started Aloe vera over ten years ago. They are more durable than hard plastic which becomes brittle and easily breaks after a year of use.

    None of the videos clearly state that aloe vera barbadensis is only for consumption or can it be used for other purposes like skin care, hair care, etc ? Please answer

    • @TheAloeVeraGarden
      @TheAloeVeraGarden  2 місяці тому

      It depends on how you want your Aloe vera to grow and how you want it to look like. Did you plant aloe vera for ornamental or for consumption?

      @TheAloeVeraGarden  7 місяців тому

      Aloe vera will be top-heavy if you use a smaller pot and place your aloe vera in a shaded or partially shaded area.

    7:57 Do you mean that if the plants don't have enough roots when you plant them, you shouldn't water the soil? If your aloe vera doesn't have any roots at all, do you have to place it in completely dry soil, or should the soil still be a bit moist? Also, when you have just cut the aloe vera off of its root ball (maybe you had root rot, or maybe your aloe vera got so tall and windy that you decided it was better to shorten the stem by cutting off the long stem), do you need to make the cut dry before you plat it in soil again?

    • @aminaa5824
      @aminaa5824 7 місяців тому

      In his other videos, he keeps soil damp while trying to grow roots, so I don’t know what he meant by that, but yes you do need to wait for the cut to dry for a day or a few days after cutting the stem

    • @TheAloeVeraGarden
      @TheAloeVeraGarden  7 місяців тому +8

      When you plant aloe vera cuttings without roots yet, there's no need for you to water it because, unlike other woody plants that absorb water when cut, aloe vera doesn't. The plant itself is full of water, it can sustain itself while it has no roots yet. If you cut a tall aloe vera for replanting, it would help to use moist soil if you are placing it in full sun, otherwise dry soil (not bone dry) will be okay. Just start giving a little water after 2 to 3 weeks because that's the time aloe vera starts to have roots. Also, you don't need to make the cut dry when planting Aloe vera cuttings.
