A four minute delay, with an older train on a three hour trip, across the mountains, in snowy conditions.
My respects to that train driver, as one professional to another. That was very neatly done.
Coming from a tropical country near the equator, I have never experienced snow in my life. The only weathers we have are rain or sun. I hope to experience winter for the first time when I travel to another country in the future for a holiday
Same here. There is basically only summer here in the Philippines the whole year. People feel cold when the temperature outside is 25 degrees. In rare instances when temperatures drop to 20 or lower, people start to get sick. 15 or below, some old people may die.
Fortunately, I spent my childhood in Japan and have experienced some limited snow during my vacations in temperate places in the world
Well guys come here Finland and freeze because we have always cold weather just like now hyrrr 😉
I hope you get to do that. I LOVE it when it snows here in the winter. But (except for last February) we hardly had any real winter the last 11 years.
Ah yes the equator eternal summer gang 🙋🏻♀️ One of my dreams is to experience living somewhere I can see four seasons in a year 🥲
So beautiful. I’m envious! To be able to go from the bustle and warmth of Tokyo to the snowy mountains so far away is such a privilege.
As a girl I lived in the Colorado Rockies, and we always had a lot of snow - sometimes beginning in September. As an adult, I am living near Lake Erie, and sometimes the lake effect gives us more snow at once than I ever saw as a kid! We've already has three small snowfalls since mid November, but now it's in the 50s (low teens Celcius), and raining. Weird weather is weird 🤷♀️.
Kuga-San, I would so have loved 🥰 to be beside you on this magical, snowy journey 🤍❤️💛💞🎇🎆🌅!!! 🥰😊😘
Japan is so beautiful in the winter snow.
I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. We definitely get a decent amount of snow here, but not as much as some parts of Japan which I've learned can get HUGE amounts of snow during the winter months!
I agree with you
Yeah im in eastern quebec and we do get plenty but I remember when i was younger we had a lot more
That's thanks to the cold, dry wind from Siberia meeting the warm waters of the Sea of Japan
@@phrenetik So do I. Climate change has screwed up everything. We had an unusually warm Christmas in Ottawa just a few years ago where we could sit outside in thin jackets! It felt like we were in Australia! 😁
25 years ago I lived briefly in the mountains in Hiroshima-ken. My first experience of so much snow. It was magical, chilly and I have never forgotten it. Now I’m home in NZ and rarely see any snow falling.
Why is it so fuzzy wuzzy and comforting seeing snowy landscapes from a moving train like this?
Edit: Lovely video, as ever.
Stunningly beautiful!!!
I have been travelling to Europe and Asia (mostly during autumn season), but never experience snowy atmosphere as someone born in SEA. I would love one day to touch snow and get visit Japan again one day!
I have to go to Japan to see snow like that from a train. I must spend more time away from Hokkaido and see more of the country. Thank you.
It always surprises me how much snow Tottori gets. Sometimes they get more snow than in Minami-Alps!
I live in Mississauga, Ontario Canada. In the Greater Toronto area. Some years we have very snowy winters, and others can be relatively green (meaning brownish!). Some years we will get snow in November, other times it won't come until January. We will have mixture of rain, snow, freezing rain and ice pellets throughout the winter. With climate change, our winter weather can be all over the place!
I like trains.
i hope i can visit again Japan during winter and would have a chance to bump into u on a train! a fan here from the 🇵🇭
I live in the Southern US on the Gulf of Mexico, so I only see snow like this on UA-cam! I love your videos. Japan is beautiful in or out of the snow ❄️
Love your channel as it gives me the opportunity to see your beautiful country! Thank You……..
I am from an area in the USA that gets a lot of snow due to being on one of the Great Lakes. It's called "lake-effect snow" because when the cold air comes over the water before the lakes freeze for the year, it can dump a LOT of snow in very little time. It's actually the same thing as the sea-effect snow that happens in the north of Japan, so the area I live in has something in common with Japan!
I live in Southwest Florida, US. No snow where I am, winters are very, very mild. I love seeing the snow on the Japanese countryside. I am
No stranger to snow, as I grew up in the US Midwest.
Wooow I really want so see the 雪 like this ... Here we are in summer season 笑 so no 雪 here therefore if you go to Andes, or the ski center in the mountains, yes you can see a lot of snow like this ... But its very difficult that we gave snow in Santiago ☺️ for that reason it's amazing that we can saw this kind of videos so ありがとうございます kuga-san ☺️
Nice ride. Fresh snow is very pleasant to look at, especially in the countryside. I live in Palmdale, California. We get very little snow as this is the desert, but it does get cold enough to freeze and put ice on our roads a few times each winter. I am from Cleveland, Ohio, and in my youth I saw many seasons with snow like that.
A warm vehicle is a cozy place to be going thru cold winter weather. A lot of fun. Thanks for posting.
Howdy, almost neighbor. We're down here near Ontario Airport. Not enough rain, so no snow either. Maybe Thursday?
@@lorrainethepain Howdy, over-the-mountains almost neighbor. I have not checked the forecast that far. And now I will have to check 2 location just because!
@@lorrainethepain Looks like you got some rain today. Hooray for being ahead of schedule!
Kuga-san, I greatly enjoy your videos. I traveled the Shinkansen between Narita & Niigata City (my wife's from there). We are living in Chicago and we get a goodly amount of snow. Keep up the good work / Gambatte!!
Thank you for inviting us along this ride with you.
If that was the UK the train would have been cancelled they cant cope in this Country when a few flakes fall let alone a lot of snow fall. Lovely vlog of the journey loved seeing the snowy scenery, stay blessed lots of love from the UK xx
I live in England, we're most likely to get snow during January and February. If we get any at all, that is.
yes but we have had a very light dusting this Winter already- which is unusual.
Love to ride on train in winter time so I can see all nature around like ice mountain, tree, snow view, love it. Hope everyone are watching this together have a great winter time❤
There's always something amazing to watch on your channel. It brightens my day to travel with you. Thanks so much!
I LOVED this one. I'm a sucker for snow. We've had a little bit of snow last week, but it didn't stay, because itvwas above freezing. Normally we get snow a few times in the winter, but almost never the amount like in this video. Except for last February, we got more than half a meter snow, I was one happy camper 😊☃️❄
Snow/Ice in 2021 and 2022 in Central Texas. Very unusual. Most Texans can't drive in it.
I love train travel. So relaxing.
I live in Wales 🏴 in the UK 🇬🇧. We rarely get snow in the city but up in the mountains they have snow. My dream is to be somewhere it snows at Christmas 🎄 I would love that. Great video as always. Beautiful scenery. Merry Christmas to you. Stay safe.
Thank you so much. Very relaxing videos. Your travel systems are amazing. I appreciate your art of sharing travel.
I live between Perpignan, the Pyrenées and the Spanish border in South-Western France. In the mountains they've had very heavy snow this winter and the local ski resorts have all been able to open early. Down here in the plain we get no snow at all (well, once about 10 or so years ago) and no frost to speak of. I can see the mountains from my village though so I get some wonderful views of the snow-capped peaks without the inconvenience!!
We are having so much snow this year! I live in Czech republic :) It makes me very happy, I love snow.
Same in Luxembourg! I can't remember when we had that much snow before Christmas! It's beautiful!
Same in Poland. Sooooo soothing and beaitiful :)
Very nice ride 👍
The scenery is beautiful with all the snow ❄️😊
I live in New England and so far have only had snow flurries- this is unusual.
Hello Frank over here from North Carolina USA, so far no snow ❄️ yet !! Probably in January (hope) , I definitely love your trips all around Japan love your country , actually a visit to Japan is in my Bucket list … since the moment that I saw Japan from Above I think in Disney Channel , I been dreaming with travel all Japan aboard a train, a few days ago came across your videos and that it. Have to go.
Thanks for a beautiful snow scenery of the Japanese country side. I live in the mid west region of US, the weather patterns have been chaotic.
It amazes me how some of Japan's older rollingstock seems to offer a quieter ride than some of the newer prestige trains; some of the new Shinkansen seem to suffer from very noisy airconditioning, a distinct lack of sound proofing and lengthy highly repetitive announcements - not conducive to resting whilst travelling.
I was almost asleep when this last announcement startled me. I live near Poznan, the middle of the western part of Poland. We used to have a lot of snow every winter but in the last decade there wasn't much snow, problably due to the climate changes, but this years February was like a winter wonderland with lots of snow and my dogs were so excited with this new fluffy cold thing being everywhere. They were three years old back then and it was their first real snow. And it's snowing here since yesterday but due to the above 0 Celsius degrees most of it melted during the day. But southern part of Poland where our mountains are there's always a lot of snow.
Same here south of Wrocław. Although it was snowing last week and again yesterday. I hope it will snow a lot more this winter! :)
@@elokubano I hope for that too! We all deserve to have white Christmas/holidays.
Fabulous train journey through the showy landscape, cool train ride 👍🏻👍🏻
That was nice. I've only been in snow about 3 inches deep. Perfect timing on avoiding the crowds, your good at that. I added another blanket on the bed to watch this wintery snow train ride! Thank you.
Hello, I love watching your videos after a long day of working, I live on the Oregon Coast USA and we barely get snow here but we did have lots of snow in 2007 or was it 2008 after a big storm but after that we dont get much but we do get cold freezing rain, east of Oregon in the mountains there is snow for that has been accumulating for people who enjoy the drive to the snow. Thank You for showing your videos.
Hello again and thanks for your video.
It looked great going through the snowy countryside
Well done
I lived in Shinji for a year and loved it. Miss seeing this area. Great cafe (The Kitcheen) near Izumo station.
Also lived in Okayama for 7 months. Lovely city.
We visited from Australia in 2018, explored the fabulous castle and the lovely garden across the river.
Michigan, middle area. Sometimes we get more, or less, but it mostly just looks like this whole video all winter. Moderate snow cover which just makes everything yucky. hope this comment helps your channel!
We have lots of snow in Kyrgyzstan but not trains in winter. There is one but it works only in summer time. Thank you for sharing your travels!
When I was a young boy, we lived in Misawa back in the 70s. It would snow 3 feet overnight. They would round up all the snow from around the base and pile it up in one spot and then create massive snow sculptures.
Snow in my country is only possible in our dreams. In a place where 25 degrees is considered cold, no way we could ever experience it.
I have experienced it when I was in Tokyo as a child though.
Thank You!
🇭🇺
Wonderful winter-landscape, nice ride by train, super 👍
Love your videos.. this one is so awesome...I live in warm climate so I haven't seen snow in years. So for us who haven't seen snow in a while ..next time you should make a longer edit of just the snowy landscape going by from train window? maybe an hour of snow from a the window..so we can continue to live vicariously. Ahhh it's so relaxing just thinking about it. Thanks again.
I believe this year is indeed one of the best year of snow for Japan. And i am going to miss it because of Covid. Its been 2 years i miss Hakuba, Hokkaido and Snowboarding 😩
Lovely landscape covered in snow...So lovely 😘
This is a wonderful way to see such a glorious snowscape!
I live in Eugene Oregon. Southern Willamette Valley. Snow here is weird, we get it but sometimes it’s just a dusting (that almost never sticks for more than a day). Other years we get buried under five feet of snow for weeks, then iced in and the whole valley turns into a skating rink. Occasionally there’s no snow, just rain.
I gave up trying to understand Western Oregon weather a long time ago. The only predictable thing about Oregon weaher is that everyday is like a box of chocolate, you do not know what you are going to get.
Hi, in Hungary today it snowed. Not lot but snowed. We have a continental climate but as the wheather is changing we don't have snowy days. We enjoy Tyour videos a lot! Thank you!
So pretty! Thank you! Here in the California desert, the only snow we get is on mountaintops, very beautiful, too.
wow that is a lot of snow. Greetings form Costa Rica, Pura Vida !, we discovered your channle today and we are anejoying it very much. We love Jpan and we love trains. Many thanks for these wonderful videos.
I've done that trip, also in snow. Wish I was there now! I have seen snow fall in Canberra Australia but it has never stayed on the ground. It snows on the nearby mountains every year, but less than in the past.
I live in the north of Italy, there is no snow yet but it will arrive in days. I like all the videos you make. I hope that once the pandemic is over, I can visit Japan from top to bottom
Wow! I was born and raised in Central Texas and for me the colder, snowy Northern Japan is a dream world. Your videos show it's a real place. It's why I love your videos.
It’s actually not northern Japan. Shimane is relatively southern compared to Tokyo and other snowy northern places such as Hokkaido or Akita, Aomori and Nigata.
Lovely video, and an interesting look at a (retro-ish) older-style train.
Glad you made the effort to post a short, but picturesque video of wintery Japan. 😊
P.S. -- Here in SW Ohio, snow is sorta 'hit or miss', but we get enough of it to make driving in the hilly areas quite 'exciting'. 😉
懐かしい。9年前岡山県の真庭郡にある小さな村住んでいてよくいい景色を見られたよね。しかし最近米国のアリゾナ州に住むから雪はほとんどないから。できれば来年旅行して色々する。
The wind is blowing hard enough to send you to Okayama for free!
No snow in Florida :). Well, almost. About once every 7 years we get snow flurries. Once in 1977, there was enough snow on the ground that I could make a snowball.
A beautiful scenery I wish I could visit someday one day ❤️❤️🤞🏼🤞🏼
Hello Kuga, this is nice and relaxing video, I really enjoyed it (actually I enjoyed every your videos).
In Jakarta we never get snow; as Indonesia is tropical country located in equator. Snow is only at Peak of Mount Jaya at Papua, and it is very difficult access to there.
Btw, thanks for giving me enjoyable and informative video about Japan.
Warmest regards from Jakarta, Indonesia.
Great trip. This train looks like Sunrise Train
so beautiful, i dream of taking this train in the snow
Singapore here. "Snow" is a very distant concept for us! 😅😅
That is so beautiful I love the snow!!😊
I live in the Great Plains of the United States. At times we can have heavy snow, but in a typical winter, we see an average of 30”. Where I live our biggest weather concern is severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. I forecast the weather in my county. Great video!
Omg I was thinking about you recording a video with a snowy landscape and tadaaaa
Thanks I needed that
I live in Jacksonville, Florida (US). We might have snow every 5 years or more. If we do get snow it's light flurries that melt before they hit the ground or melt on contact with the ground. The last time it was cold enough here for snow to last was December 23, 1989. We got just under 2 inches for about 4 days. The last event of snow actually sticking before was 1958. But, I spent quite a bit of time in Virginia before moving to Florida. There, it snowed every winter in varying amounts. I have to say that, yes, snow is pretty to look at but not fun to be in. I prefer Florida lol
Very pretty to look at, but glad I'm not out in the snow now!
Doesn’t snow where I live in Northern California but now I am older and prefer not to live where it snows. I used to live where it snowed like that in Ogden Utah but it was more fun as a kid. Still it’s beautiful to look at on videos 😊👍🌷
Watching this from the Philippines. We have hot and humid weather all year round. It get a bit cool in Dec and Jan. I love cold weather and snowy days. I would love to travel the routes you show us!
Even though I grew up in Pennsylvania, I live in Texas now and we just get snow/ice storms, nothing like what you have. I'd love to see some of your snowfall.
That was very beautiful ! Thank You ... :D
I live in Sweden not far away from Gothenburg and my town got snow little over a week ago and we have a few centimeters of snow now along with temperatures down to about -10C, it’s actually not very common for my area to get this cold already in late November even though it does happen. These temperatures we have now are more commonly seen in January. Between easily getting cold and having struggles to get around (I’m an ambulatory wheelchair user) I stay at home as much as I can now (plus of course current situation making me avoid going out as well)
I do hope now that our snow will get to stay until after Christmas, but knowing our weather, it can be cold and white all of December until sometime between December 20th and 23rd only for the snow to melt before Christmas and then Christmas Eve is usually mild and grey and then snow comes back on Boxing Day or so and stays until February-March sometime just to peeve us all...
I love watching all your videos
Nice, the Snow Ride is lovely...
I reside in Richmond Virginia. We had our last big snow storm in 2017 when we got 4 feet of the stuff. We have not had much since, although we often get ice storms and heavy rain, especially in Feb and March. I am not much of a snow fan, but I sure like watching your videos with all the pretty stuff.
Hi Kuga, I enjoy your video's a lot. I live in NE Ohio. In years past we have got a lot of snow but lately not so much. My parents were born and raised in West Virginia about 3 hours south of my home. It is very hilly and get a lot of snow too. From minute 2 on I thought your travels reminded me of my trips down there. Lots of snowy beautiful scenery. Merry Christmas. Keep on making your video's!!
This reminded me of the first time I travelled to Echigo-Yuzawa on the Shinkansen from Ueno. We went into a long tunnel then emerged into a snowy landscape not long before we reached our destination. (It was only later that I found out that was the opening to the novel Snow Country.)
Watching that snowy landscape going past made me feel happy and sad at the same time. So thanks for this video.
Snow is a very rare event here in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Less than an inch of snow every three to five years.....when it happens, everything closes. 🤗❤️️
Seems it may become more common as the years go by. Wishing you guys a better deal than last year.
@@adorabell4253 Yes, last winter was a challenge! Thank you for your nice comment.
We live in Buffalo NY area. Yes we get snow in winter. Love it.
Love your Videos
Another great video Mr. Kuga!
Great train ride! We don’t get much snow here in Oklahoma. Sometimes, but it doesn’t last very long.
Thanks for the video. Train rides though snow in Japan are my favorite type of video to watch. Makes me wish this one was longer.
i live in houston, texas, usa. the weird part about it is that while we rarely get any snow at all, when we do it can be a big problem. the USA and especially states like Texas are pretty much disasters. for example, in texas, in order for our rich people to get richer we dont spend our money to update and improve on many of the basic facilities of modern life. one of these things is our electrical and power systems. so when it does freeze it can give us real problems like last year for example, where it froze, we got like an inch or two of snow but our power was out for like a week (many people froze to death, it is a tragedy). but i dont mean to be all depressing! i loved the video and all of your videos. people should know about what i mentioned though, i wish it were different, i hope it is in japan! thanks kuga!
No snow yet, where I am from. Japan is always so beautiful no matter the time of year.
I'm from the Philippines living in Japan and I love your travel videos. I/we usually travel doing roadtrips using our car as it is quite cheaper rather than taking the train but I would love to try this too with this view, and it is much more safer that driving during winter most especially on a snowy day.
Kuga, love your videos! The non-verbal approach and your occasional cameos make them unique and enjoyable. My wife and I are anxious to visit your country thanks to your travels. As far as snow goes, I live in Lake Tahoe California and we get our share although in recent years we've struggled some. Anyway, thanks and look forward to the next one.
I'm from Nizhnevartovsk and the first snow has fallen since mid November. There is also beautiful winter train trip. Usually i spent my winter holiday to take train to Irkutsk to see the scenery and vacation on ice of Baikal (sorry my English is not very good).
Very nice! 👍
We used to get a lot of snow in New England in the USA but not as much in recent years, the climate has changed. But I enjoyed your ride
You have the best job in the world !!!
Nice ride, thank you!
