Bc when they pull in port and they find weapons, why do you have them if you’re just a cargo ship? Plus, private security is really expensive.

Captain Philips was dumb, knowing exactly where they were going to use the ladder it would be a lot easier to hide there, they can not get a clear shot being that close to the cargo ship, but someone from the crew could easily unhook the ladder and the pirates will have to go away.
such a dumb law, no guns on a cargo ship, 2 well training men with the high ground and high power guns, no worries.

Every time I watch this, I think to myself if someone had just been up there where they put the ladder up and just pulled it up and threw it in the water. But that makes for bad cinema.
