I was live there around 3:40pm, I was thinking going out on Volks and put some tip-up down for the last time, after sawing this on Bayshore we stop by and stay away for the rescue team do ther job. Thanks for the rescue team and getting those guys safe back home to there family. stay safe family.
Natural selection
As a person who fishes and lives near the bay, it was a very bad call in judgment going out on the bay with a southerly wind in 50 degrees temps! There's always a couple a year that need to be rescued. A perch a whitefish or a walleye is not worth it 🤦
By the way, boats have been on the fox river all week! JS 🤷🏼♂️
It happens too often out there. Some people just will never learn!
I grew up in Appleton, fishing Wiinnebago & GB alot, both bodies of water, regardless of season winds the factor most often ignored.
I’d like to think it was a learning lesson for sure. If those fishermen have done this before that’s a different story.
That's happened in lake Erie a month ago people have to get rescue they was fishing for walleyes the ice broke away from the shoreline helicopter have to get them and one of those air Boat it was 21 people

I mean the county invested in a airboat for this very reason. Glad it's actually being used and not just sitting in a garage.

They should be fined. Forget the gear. They should have to pay a fee to help cover the costs of the rescue boat and personnel. Glad to see this was not you.
