In the 80s there was a video game similar to DK that I played in a laundry mat. I've been trying to find out the name. It had girders that were horizontal and ladders to get from one to the other. There were spaces in the girders that you could jump over. There were monsters that would chase you and you could lead them to fall into the holes. They would fall in but had sort of arms that would grab the girder and try to keep from falling through and after a struggle, they would climb out of the hole and continue chasing you. The winning strategy was to get a monster stuck in a hole on multiple levels and then hit the one on top so that he fell down and hit the next one and then they both fell down on the next one so you could defeat them all. Do you have any information on this game?
Que versión de donkey Kong es la que tienes? (En el intro se escucha la versión que busco) todos los donkey Kong que encuentro son de sonidos diferentes por favor si pudieras ayudarme con la versión del sonido que tú muestras en el intro de este vidoe
I wouldn’t call Congo Bongo a clone, it’s more of a competitor. Also, you forgot the bootleg Big Kong, which is DK ported to the Galaxian hardware with some rather creepy and foreboding music used for the game.......
Don't forget Monkey Donkey. There's also one Crazy Kong cabinet that runs on scramble hardware. From what I could find, there are 8 versions of this clone.
"Kangaroo" also borrows heavily from "Donkey Kong" though not enough to get into any trademark issues with Nintendo. To be fair there were a lot of games that borrowed heavily from those old golden age arcade games like Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Galaxian, etc. I guess imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery.
There was an Arcade bootleg called Mrs. or Ms. Donkey Kong that had a Blonde wig onto of Donkey Kong's head but otherwise an exact clone of the game Donkey Kong.
The level skip actually did exist in the version 1 release of the japanese version of Donkey Kong, which was re released in the Arcade Archives version
I couldn't believe how bad the Crazy Kong games were. As much as they actually looked like Donkey Kong they played terribly. The controls, speed, and feel of the game are not on par at all with the real thing.
Let me know in the comments any other arcade game clones you would like to cover for the next part!!
Alright

Fun fact: Shigeru Miyamoto was actually impressed by the cage cutscene in Crazy Kong Part 2.

And Kong.
Very strange but definitely based on Falcon's Crazy Kong: ua-cam.com/video/oLV6FQcrPkM/v-deo.html
Fun fact: Mario’s “hi yah” sound in crazy Kong is the sound effect for the gorilla in crazy climber.
Comparing Congo Bongo to Donkey Kong is like comparing Lay Bug to Pac Man.
Fun fact 2: Falcon’s CEO was arrested because he tried to hack donkey Kong junior’s circuits.
Kongo bongo actually looks pretty fun
It really is.

Don't forget about Dig Dug and Zig Zag.

HOW IS CONGO BONGO FEATURED!?!
For me Congo Bongo is actually kinda good
There was an Arcade bootleg called Mrs. or Ms. Donkey Kong that had a Blonde wig onto of Donkey Kong's head but otherwise an exact clone of the game Donkey Kong.
The last level of Congo Bong gave me Frogger vibes.
Same
I actually played crazy kong before I played donkey kong.
I wonder why Falcon didn't keep the Crazy Climber gorilla for Crazy Kong. THat would have been a nice touch.
congo bongo needs a switch release.
My local arcade has Crazy Kong. Didn't know there was a Part II!
The level skip actually did exist in the version 1 release of the japanese version of Donkey Kong, which was re released in the Arcade Archives version
What they failed to improve: A way to let go of the f*n hammer when you want to.
Fortunately, Donkey Kong 94(GB) fixed that :)
0:07-0:10 nice destroying platform sound mashup😊
A Bird Replaces donkey kong on top of the screen this bird throws logs instead of barrels i Like That Part
Congo Bongo isn't a clone. This has a totally different gameplay.
good video. You didn't really mention the screen jump trick for CKII. The one where you can jump through the bottom of the screen.
