I was 19 when I first heard this song. I’m 40 now. And this is one of the VERY few (literally, like 3 ever) songs where I remember where I was when I first heard it. It shook me and changed everything. All my love to Linkin Park.
These two vocalists were a match made in heaven. They compliment each other so good 🥰
Thank you for acknowledging Mike. I think many people don't realize just how much of the lyrics actually come from Mike. He wrote Breaking the Habit for and about Chester - that song came from Mike as a way to reach Chester and help him through self-destructive behaviour. Mike really is under-appreciated.

The dancing in the music videos for this album killed me 🤣
This was always a favorite of Chester's, and a fan favorite because it's so relatable to have a critical "face" that is always talking s***. The thing that's gets in your way, telling you you're not good enough or that you won't live up to your own expectations.
Fort those who struggle with mental illness, particularly like bipolar, the thought patterns can be really linked to certain conditions. I definitely always enjoyed the bridge, but it wasn't until recently that I put it together with other songs:
"The sun goes down,
I feel the light betray me"
I'm fairly certain the mental illnesses Chester struggled with got vastly worse when the sun went down. I've known an individual who would have episodes of schizophrenia that would occur at night only, and it would be terrifying for both of us. This is a recurring theme that comes back up in later songs like Forgotten.
I love how the drummer is just sitting there chilling and the guitarist and bassist are playing acoustic haha
I want to thank you for this reaction and all your reactions really even if I might not completely agree with everything you say, I understand where you are going with it, I appreciate your honesty, especially in this song…….I’m a huge Linkin Park fan but I was late to the greatness that is LP and Chester as I really, REALLY got to know them in 2020 when we were all stuck inside because of Covid…..I was familiar and knew a few of their songs but what got me hooked was that first reaction video of Chester and Mike doing that cover of Adele’s song “ Rolling In the Deep” and that was it for me, I was hooked, I fell in love with this band and Chester and his INCREDIBLE voice, I cried when I watched it and heard that voice of his…..there are not enough words to describe Chester and his voice, he is absolutely my #1 all time favorite vocalists and I know there are many out there but for me there is no comparison……I am 56 yrs old sooo yeah it’s a big deal to me……..I love all of the guys in the band, Linkin Park lives on with me forever ❤️
well, for me atleast there are songs that i instantly like on the first listen but there are also songs that im kinda neutral on but as i hear them more often some of them become my new favorite songs over time. its completely normal to not be sure if you like a song or not on the first liste. of course there are also some songs where you cant but love them from the first listen on too ( for example numb / in the end etc)
Don Gilmore produced this album, but Mike shinoda was from the beginning on very involved in the production work. The mixing on the album was actually done by Andy Wallace who mixed a ton of succesful rock albums ( for example Nirvanas Nevermind). He also mixed the whole Meteora album. After Meteora they teamed with Rick Rubin to produce their albums, to completly rebuild the sound and identity of the band.
also i remember playing yu-gi-oh listening to random linkin park songs too (Hybrid Theroy and Reanimation ) :)

I feel like "liking" a song can be very different from appreciating a song. Personally, I don't need to like every song a band does on an album in order to appreciate how an artist/band experiments with music or artistic styles. Experimentation can keep an artist fresh and growing, and I tend to separate appreciating how a song adds variety to the artist even if I don't connect with it (whether just in the first listen, or ever).
It doesn't bother me at all if anyone loves the songs or bands I love. My bond with songs and bands is ultimately between my heart and soul and the musicians. So always good to tell the truth. But I'm always happy when people love the songs and bands I love ❤️

I don't feel like people will usually like everything a band or artist does. If they do, it usually means that the band isn't evolving and is playing it too safe.
For me, Linkin Park and NF are the only 2 I can honestly say that I like 98% of everything they have released

I had 14 Linkin Park songs and didn't even know they were the same band because they were very different (and because I didn't learn English), but it turned out that little-known LP songs (or anyone else's) are sometimes better than popular

I feel like Mike Shenoda's genius with word play and imagery just don't get enough appreciation. For some reason most reactors and those new to Linkin Park tend to read so much into the lyrics as if they _all_ came from Chester. Sure, Chester co-wrote (according to Mike: for most part they wrote together; how that was divided up, idk), but for some reason, because Chester is the one adding the raw emotion to the lyrics people seem to miss or disregard Mike's contribution to writing them.
Personally, I can listen through all the songs of the first two albums. They're really solid.

HYBRID THEORY is the best debut album of all time for this genre of music. It can also be debated that INFEST by Papa Roach is also another debut album that’s TOP TIER 🔥🔥

As someone with anxiety, this song is very on point. Though the face inside of me is my own face, berating every tiny failure.
One of my all time favourite albums. When I lived a couple of hours from work this was my cd of choice at 6am to wake me up lol. Follow up album meteor for the drive home. One step closer was the first song that came out here and it was just amazing. Remember being like 19 and it came on in a club I was at. My little emo type self rocking out to it

I would recommend listen to the live version of many of their songs. For example papercut live in texas. The energy there was much higher.
The song "Crawling" is what I think you thought it was by them. That one was very popular.

I love Linkin Park, and your opinion so devoid of ways to deceive and intend to like something that is not so good, it pleased me a lot, this is missing a lot in the reaction channels. If we can buy an album from a particular artist and don't like everything there, why should that be different for those who watch a channel? No one is obliged to like everything, simple as that.

i dare you to review any of the ones you have heard already but, made enhanced by: ghost in the machine. imo its a proper masterpiece from the reanimated version of this. run away in all 3 versions i love.
Hybrid theory (this album) and metroa( thier second album) were the best period

Hybrid theory really got me into this genre but meteora was the better album. Both are elite though. Glad ur being a a bit more honest with the reviews. Not all songs can be great.
