Surprise mom this Mother's Day with this delicious Almond Amaretto cake filled with vanilla custard and topped with Italian buttercream and caramelized almonds. There are 4 components to this cake but you can prepare most of them a day or two in advance. It is moist, creamy, crunchy, nutty, and not too sweet. Mom will LOVE it!!! So let's get started 😊

Vanilla Extract 4g (1 tsp)
Whole milk 92g (1/3 cup)
Amaretto Liqueur 30g (1/8 cup)
CARAMELIZED ALMONDS INGREDIENTS:
Sliced almonds 110g (1 cup)
Water 28g (2 tbsp)
Granulated sugar 55g (1/4 cup)
ITALIAN BUTTERCREAM INGREDIENTS:
Granulated sugar 227g (1 1/8 cup)
Water 113g (1/2 cup)
Salt 0.75g (pinch)
Egg whites 132g (approx. 4.5 large pcs)
Unsalted butter 340g (1 1/2 cups)
